New Incentives

Just talked with my guide and here's what incentive options he offered me for buying 100 VGC points:

OPTION 1: $8 off per point plus 3 day cruise category 8

OPTION 2: $14 ($8 discount, plus $6 discount since no cruise)

OPTION 3 (for Disney VISA purchase): $800 gift certificate plus two annual passes (at WDW or DL)

OPTION 4: $5 off plus matching developer points to be used by Oct. 3 (this incentive is expired, supposedly, but since I put in my request yesterday I can still get it)

Is the offer for 2 APs only for purchase of VGC, or only for purchase through a California guide? Is it being offered for other resorts??

I really don't know the details on this. When I said I wanted to pay for points with my Disney VISA, my guide brought up this offer. He is not a California guide. He did say I could get APs for DL or WDW.

I am pretty excited about this new incentive and may push me over the edge and buy but I was curious about Disney's Doorway to Dreams. I live in the NY area and understand that they are opening an office in Long Island. Are their (Doorway's) promotions typically identical to the ones that are avail via the DVC directly or do they have special incentive programs too?

I am conflicted with whether to go with this one or wait till the LI facility opens and see what they have to offer. Any advice?

Thanks.

Wow!

I sent the paperwork back for a 60 point VGC add-on on Monday. Just called my guide, and they stopped the paperwork and will re-do it with the $8/point incentive. One phone call worth $480 (but I'll have to resign all those forms lol).

Just got off the phone with our Guide. She is redoing all of our paperwork again. We are buying 160 points at BLT and took the $8 per point incentive plus the $6 referral incentive.

The only thing is that your 10% downpayment is calculated full price ($17,920 x 10%= $1792), then the incentives are applied as and extra down payment. ($17,920 - $1792 (Down Payment) - $1280 ($8 per point) - $960 ($6 per point) = $13,888 financed.

So if you take this plan you need to come up with a larger, out of pocket downpayment then if you applied the $5 per point to your downpayment.

By the way, I calculated our savings over the 10 year loan period and this deal will save us $4,173.64 (if we don't pay it off early)

I'm assuming that financing is not required to take advantage of this offer. Is this correct?

Yes, you are eligible even if you don't finance. I had already paid my contract in full but had not closed yet.

We stopped the paperwork and redid it. Because of the $16.00 discount I will be getting ($8.00 PLUS additional $8.00 for adding at the 125 point level), it only cost my an additional $175.00 to change my contract from 115 points to 130 points.

Is this just for new members or for add-ons too? My guide is out today and we need to decide what to change our incentives to. Also, is there any $ off for this option or just the $800 gift card and AP's

So a 100 point add-on at SSR would be:
$11,200.00
$1120.00 down payment
$800.00 (8.00 per point incentive)
$600.00 (6.00 per point incentive)
TOTAL FINANCED $8680.00
and a gift card if I use my Visa plus 2 annual passes to WDW??

**Am I doing this correct?**

Could someone let me know what the best deal for me would be if I wanted to add on at BLT? Do you get more of a discount if you add on more points?
For instance is it a better deal if I bought 160 points verses 100?
I am not interested in the cruise.
Are there any additional incentives if you don't finance and pay cash?
Thanks.

With the new incentives, if you add on to BLT with at least 125 points (and don't take the cruise), you can end up with $16.00 off the price, or $96.00 per point.

There are no extra incentives for paying cash vs. financing.

Good luck!

No, that's not correct.
The VISA deal is separate from the point discount, either or, not both.

If it's offered for SSR, it would be $800 gift card plus two annual passes. No $8 or $6 per point discount.

These incentives caused me to pull the trigger on an add-on at VGC.

I purchased 125 points at VGC @ $96/pt.

WHAT??!!! DVC Mike, you need a 12-step program!! :rotfl: You do know that they don't let you just live year-round at DVC, right? But, of course, if you break up the Florida stays with one in California, maybe that re-sets the clock.

Having said that, these incentives are going to make me buy 125 instead of 100 at GCV...

I am so anxious to get these incentives written in our VGC contract. Called my guide but still waiting to hear back. I am trying to be patient as guides deserve days off too ;) but this new incentive has me feeling so much better about our purchase. I love straightforward incentives like these. It makes my logical, numbers based brain very, very happy!

Congrats to all!

I'm confused, maybe someone will take pity and help me out. Say, I want to buy 160 pts (new member) and use my disney visa along with a referral. How much would it cost me per point for BLT? Also, I am interested in the 2 WDW APs. Does that mean that I would only get that plus the gift card and no point discounts?
