Just got back yesterday :( I have to thank everyone who talked me into staying at PBH. We really liked it, I thought the food was much better for a family than at HRH. Anyway, boat driver told me about a new hotel opening in about 3 yrs. Does anyone know anything about it? I didn't ask him if he knew the name or where it was located all I know is he said only one boat will be able to go through the channel at a time, because it is so narrow. Well time to plan next trip:Pinkbounc

Cool, I hope Loew's is doing it...they have done an outstanding job with the resorts so far...nothing but quality and class!

The quality is there but the service can be lacking, no doubt about that.

I'll have to disagree with that. I have stayed at Loew's Universal hotel at least 8 times this year and have never had a problem with service. If anything the accounting dept. has been the biggest problem.

we've had problems with housekeeping, management and accounting at the HRH. Beautiful hotel, but you couldn't pay to me stay there again. Well, if in a couple of yrs everyone here has said the problems are gone, I might consider it.

I know this is going to turn into a controversy about who had good service & who didn't. The only thing I can say is that I stay in hotels all the time. They all have their share of problems, ALL of them, especially when they are in their first year.
I have had plenty of problems at Disney too. I stayed at the BW the first week it opened and swore I'd never stay there again, but have several times. I just think all & all Loew's, not just at US really try & give you their best. I just wish they weren't so darn expensive to stay in!

CPM .. I agree with you to a point. The first problem we had with HRH was with housekeeping. This was about 6 weeks after they opened and I could see how the misscomunication could happen. Short version ... toilet over flowed first time we flushed it. Maintanence arrived within minutes to unclog it. They (in front of us) got on the radio and order house keeping up to mop the bathroom and replace the bath mats. We left to eat. When we came back it wasn't cleaned up. Called house keepign. They sent maintainence. They called house keeping again and was told "we don't handle over flowed toilets, you do". I think language was a barrier here. Neither the maintance worker or who he spoke to spoke english well, and they appeared to not speak the same language. After 2 days of a nasty bathroom (yep even when housekeeping came they wouldn't touch the bathroom, "sorry, we not handle over flow toilet") DH mopped the bathroom with bath towels a 2 am).
Management finally got back in touch with us and gave us a free breakfast and a free ngihts stay.

However a yr later we had problems from the day before we arrived until 3 moths after we left. When I called the main office to book our free night I was give another free night. I booked those 2 ngihts and one we to pay for at 99 under a special that was runnign that also involved a 3 day ticket for the price of a 2 day. I won't go into the long story version(the short version isn't short either) but it involved not getting the rate we had "locked in" for the night we were paying for. Not being booked under the right code to get the ticket special (thse 2 were made right but after about 3 hours of converstions by phone and once we arrived, but one of those changes later in the story). Taking 2 hours to get into a room when we checked in because the door lock was malfunctioning and the front desk didn't beleive us or security. Then we were offered our night we were paying for for free because of the trouble(we were finally move to another room at 2 am). The final bill reflected that we were not charged for the room. 3 months later my sister was charged 119 per night for 2 nights. We went around with billing and the creidt card company. It finally came down to billing claiming that management said we were making the whole story up and that the bill wasn't charged because we knew the computer was down. Even wiht letters and phone calls to the main office (not the Orlando office) we were not offered any compensation and had to pay for the 2 nights at $20 more per night than what I book the one night at.
