Hey there DISNEY fans :
I am new here somewhat I was here for a short period of time awhile back about two years or so I am thinking.

Anyway, we are going to DISNEY finally we leave in September the end of it.
Would love to see free dining come along being our first trip and all but not holding my breath.

Anyway, as I said I have some questions my sister in law has been wonderful with helping me.
Her kids are older then mine so there are a few things that I need some help with.

First of all , my daughter is going to be five years old when we go she turns five in March we leave in September as I said. So what is your opinion on strollers at that age ? Would you take one ? Do you need one ?

What about shoes what are the best shoes at that age ?

Where can I find cheap Disney Princess dresses I need to find one she loves Cinderella.

If there is one thing that you would say you need to do while your there with children ages nine, seven, and five.

What would you do ?

There are more questions but I don't know what they are right now. SMILE

Thanks so much and keeping looking for me on here cause I AM GOING TO DISNEY

About the stroller. I would bring one if she gets tired easily. It will be a lot of walking, you can buy a dress at wal-mart or on ebay. The shoes should be comfortable walking shoes. And finally i would read up on disneyland or disneyworld and familiar your self with all the attractions and events, have your kids point out which things they would like to see and make a list. Have a wonderful trip!

First of all :welcome:

We were there in July, Aug, and Dec my oldest dd turned 6 in sept and we had a stroller with us on all three trips to accomodate her. She walked alot so we used it mostly to carry our stuff. It was need the most in the mornings when we got up and she was dragging behind at the resort and in the park. We used it if we were in a hurry to get from one place to another she hopped in and we were on our way. In the evenings when she would start getting tired she would hop in and after the bus ride back to the resort she was always asleep and when we got off she went into the stroller so we didn't have to carry her. Bring your own stroller because you can't leave the parks with disney's.

As far as costume you can check walmart, target, and toysrus they sell for about 19.99, you can also checkout ebay and see if they have any good deals on occasion you can find some disney park or store bought costumes for a good price, the disney outlet on disneyshopping.com also had a cinderella, areil, and sleeping beauty costume on clearance. I have also heard that mydressuptrunk.com has princess costumes at a good price and they are not itchy. We also used the stroller to carry a costume or two when the girls aren't wearing them.

As for things for you kids to do everything that they can. You didn't specify whether you have all girls or a combo of both. For a magical expierence that would be memorable for your dd check the link in my sig about BBB. They also accomodate boys and pics have been posted of boys who have had their hair done.

I hope this has been helpful and you can PM me if you have anymore questions.

Mandy

Thank you so much for your help. Sounds like we should really take a stroller we are staying at the POR

I have two boys they are the oldest they are nine and seven and then my daughter is going to be five when we go. I thought about the BBB that is why I was looking for the dress up dress for her to wear for pictures that day.

From where I live it is about a fourteen hour drive any ideas there ? We are thinking of starting out about 4 PM that evening and driving through the night any ideas would be great.

Do you recommend carrying a water bottle with you ? I don't know what the temps are at the end of September and first part of October does it get hot ?

What about in the evenings ?

If there is someplace else I should be posting these questions let me know like I said I am new here and thank you once again for the information and for the WELCOME

Your fine asking questions right where you are. As far as the temp during that time of the year it can be hot and most likely will be during the day. The evenings IMHO are always cool not matter what time of the year you go. Will you be doing the dining plan? We don't carry water bottles around but do purchase the refillable mugs for the resorts. At the animal kingdom we purchase the animal topper sporst bottle and refills are only a dollar, I wish they did that for more parks. For your boys you might want to think about the pirate cruises that they have at some of the resorts. We do about a 10-12 hr drive everytime we go we bring a portable DVD player and some coloring books and I am sure on our next trip DD will be bringing her Nintendo DS. Keep in mind that with that long of a drive and it being at night they sleep a good portion of the way. POR is one of my favorite resorts, How long will you be staying for.

Welcome!

Strollers. If you have an umbrella then I would definitely take it. My twin 6 y.o and my 5 y.o insisted we use the stroller last Easter and they haven't been inthe stroller for a long time, except at Disney World.

As far as what you must do? My kids love Turtle Talk w/' Crush, Test Track, Kilamanjaro Safari Ride, Festival of the Lion King, Buzz Lightyear, and Star Tours. They certainly enjoy a lot of the others, but these are all not to be missed rides. Spend some time at the resort pool!

We are looking forward to some rides we have never done this summer. POTC, the new Nemo ride, the Nemo show and I'm sure there are some others.

BTW, my kids are currently 6, 7, and 7.

Once again thank you so much for your information. As for how long we are staying we are arriving on Sept 28th and leaving on October 5th now we are going to stay someplace on our way there I figure and then coming back we are going to stay someplace also.

So all in all we should be gone about 10 days I am thinking

I will have to look for a stroller we have not had one of those in our house for a couple years now. SMILE

Yes we are doing the dining plan ( hoping for FREE dining keep your eyes open for me )

Thank you for the information about water and all now I was also told that I could go anywhere and they will give you a glass of water FREE is that right ?

I have a few more questions I might post them someplace else but thought that I would start here also.

What about the NICK hotel is it worth the money ? Do they ever do discounts ? Are there any codes for them ?
My kids like the NICK stuff so thought that might be someplace we could stay before we left but was not sure about the price and if it was worth it

Thanks

We have driven twice, from Ontario. I always make "surprise bags" for my girls and they want them again for our next trip and they will be 17 & 19, LOL. They are easy to do for little ones ... a trip to a Dollar store will usually do it. I was in Dollarama yesterday and it was packed with Disney items and I was sad that my kids are too old for them now ... Anyway, don't give them everything at once, dole out the surprises when they seem to need a little distraction! Have fun. We love the drive, its part of the adventure.

Thanks........I am trying to get goody bags together but where I live there is really NOTHING around here I have hit the dollar stores around here we don't have one around here called what you were saying wish that we did

I am going to keep looking for the goodies I hope to find something

If you are looking for just an umbrella stroller I would recommend the Jeep stroller it has a recline feature they are about 40 dollars with tax. You can also get a kolcraft umbrella stroller for 19.99 on the babiesrus website they are great w/ my DD6 in some of the other she weighs them down and it makes them hard to push and she is very petite and weighs about 40 lbs.
The 19 dollar stroller comes in many different color the jeep stroller I would recommend the grey to the black b/c of the bright sun

You can also checkout abbf.com you can rent regular strollers from them instead of having to by or bring on with you.
