Hey there, hi there, ho there...

Thought I/we should finally make an introduction. Okay, I've been lurking for awhile, thoroughly enjoying everyone's postings on the DIS boards, but especially on this forum. :smooth:

We're the MacGowans... I'm Sandy (and will probably be the usual poster to this board), my husband is Brian, and our two daughters are Bonnie (7) & Kellie (5). I guess we started collecting pins about a year ago, but we haven't had much (if any) experience with trading yet... I guess that's our next step. I would have to say, though, that Scoop is the main reason we're here, since he's the one who told me about this board. He's also taught us so much about pins during our past two trips and what a great friend he's become! What a guy! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (even though I'm a transplanted American from Indiana... long story...) and we've been to WDW four times in the past 2 years. Love the place, love the CMs (we've made such wonderful new friends on each trip) love it, love it, love it! (Okay, I also love Tutter from BITBBH...) ;)

Um, what else? Well, we're also real computer geeks (Brian's even a Nerd here in Ontario with Nerds On Site... so if anyone in the Orlando area needs computer help, Brian *does* make house calls! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: ) so we also do a lot of digital photography whenever we go to WDW... our last trip, we shot more than 2000 (yes, that's two thousand) digital photos in 7 days... 600 of the Dapper Dans alone, but that's a totally unrelated story... ;) We also like to play around with our photos, retouching, manipulating... altering reality is always fun. :teeth: And yes, it *is* kind of fun to do the impossible!

I guess that's a good start, at least for now. Don't want to bore everyone to tears on our first "official" posting!

Sandy (and Brian, Bonnie & Kellie, too!)

:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Oh, and just to show off our girls... (Brian sez "they're the ones in the front...")

... can you blame me? :teeth:

Nice to meet you and your family, Sandy. Toronto is a beautiful city! Seeing your photo reminds me of my daughter's first haircut there and the lingering blue gel:-)

Warmest regards,

-Chuck

Welcome to the boards. I'm glad Scoop sent you in our direction. We have a lot of fun here and it sounds like you will fit in perfectly.

Welcome and thanks for sharing about yourself! Cute gals! :D
I am an ex-Hoosier too. :)

Welcome to the sanest board on the dis… word of warning watch out for those pin collectors they are all nuts, the rest of us are okay.

Donna the other half of the Ed and Donna show will post soon once she sees that your from Canada, she will have to do that bondo bonding I’m from Muskoka thing.

Word of warning watch out for that Raul guy, he’s nuts, but a nice nut he’s one of those imagineers that left Disney in frustration because they would not let him make the monorail go past mach-one guys… You know one lousy train leaves the track and becomes airborne and everybody gets all excited… (sigh)

So welcome now all you need to do is move to Florida and your mission is complete.

Wow, thanks to everybody for such a warm welcome!

Chuck: thanks! Yes, Toronto is a beautiful city, and we live right downtown. Our condo apartment building is part of a revitalized former distillery (lots of old, *old* buildings still standing) that has been used in a lot of movies and TV shows - like Chicago (the jail in that movie is an old building that's actually attached to our apartment building. Kind of neat to see our neighborhood there on the "big screen!")

Cynthia: you're right, I think this is a really fun board! Lots of great people!

Luv2Roam: thanks, yup we kinda think our girls are cute, too, but then again, we *are* a bit biased! ;) Nice to meet a fellow Hoosier, too, especially a transplanted one like me! :Pinkbounc Where in Indiana are you originally from? Me: Nappanee (but I'm not Amish!) ;)

Ed: LOL! To be honest, moving to Florida is actually part of our game plan! (We'd love to pack up right now, but it's more likely to be in 1 to 3 years... :( ) We might have to get a few pointers from you and Donna in order to get Brian to stay in the US, though! ;) Since I was born in the US, no problem for me, and our girls automatically have dual-citizenship, so no problem there, either... Brian's the only stumbling block! (And if the INS ever reads any of the posts he makes, they'll *never* let him stay!) ;) :smooth:  :p
I do have a confession to make, though, about your user name... I, too, originally thought you were Raul; I didn't know *who* Pinboy might have been... but who was I to pass judgment! It's nice to know I was not alone... ;)

Thanks again to all!

Sandy (and Brian, Bonnie & Kellie!)
