Hi all, I am planning a cruise for 2007 as we have been several times to the world. After reading several pages of posts I know to book seperately if we do the land/sea. I am seriouslty considering a 7 day cruise, Now for the big question. when is the best time to go? IE: hurricanes, rates and crowds. Thanks in advance to all of you knowlegable people. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

We have been on three DCL cruises and we can only go during the summer when school is off. Are you traveling with school age children? Summer and holiday weeks is peak and ships are almost full to capacity. If you travel around this time, you know you are taking chances and will most likely be directed to different ports because of hurricanes. Prices will also drop for this time. If you do not have to worry about school schedules perhaps someone else can help of when the best time to go/rates, etc.

I'm not sure, but I think the cheapest times to go are either September or January. October also is on the cheap side. In Sept. there is a potential for hurricanes and in Jan. it could be cold at CC - at least the water. We went at the end of Sept. in 01 and had a great time (no hurricanes). This year it's the end of October for us.

Also, the earlier you book the cheaper the rate. Shop around at all the differnent TA and find the best deal. Be ready to jump when the 07 rates come out or find a TA that will put you on a waiting list if you decide you need a particular date/cabin.

As for crowds on the cruise, most sailings are close to full or full. Again, in Sept/Jan/Oct you might be on a cruise with a few empty rooms.

Hi,

Hurricane season is usually late summer (August) to end of October. January is pretty cheap- and I like the cooler weather.

If you go to the website for allseastravel (www dot allseastravel dot com), they list the prices for every cruise in 2006. It will give you an idea of which times are cheaper. I had a February 2006 cruise booked with another agency and when I looked on allseastravel website, I found that I could save over $700 by travelling a month earlier. :cool1:

Also, if you call Sandie at allseastravel, she is the one handling the 2007 cruises. She will take all your information and book you the day the 2007 dates are released.

Good luck!

We went at the end of October last year and the weather was great. We loved it so much that we're cruising over Halloween this year. 7-day cruises are the best!

Hurricane season is actually from the begining of June to the end of November. The PEAK season is August/September/October.
