New Here- Considering Solo Trip :)

Hi JGal,
I also live in Israel, TA to be exact. Moved here from NY almost 9 years ago. I'm currently planning a solo trip to WDW for May 2016. I'm sandwiching it in during the next time I'll be in New York to visit my family. I've been wanting to go back for a long time (last time was almost 18 years ago when I was 16) and I finally decided that I don't want to wait any longer.
I say if you want to go then go for it!!! No point waiting around if it's something you really want to do. I am very much looking forward to doing all the things I want to do without having anyone else to consider.
Oh and by the way I love that dress you're wearing in your profile pic!
Hi!!!
So excited to meet a fellow Israeli!
I hate the winter and would love to go in warmer weather but April or May seem too far away. I haven't been on a decent vacation since my last WDW trip two years ago and I need a break!
(Writing this on my way to work and just the thought of another dull day is too much for me. Need my Disney fix! ;) )
Have you ever done a solo?

BTW, thanks for the compliment! I got it at Epcot! :D

No, this will be my first time and I'm so excited. The other two times were with my family. I'm used to doing a lot on my own anyway. I'm of the opinion that if I want to do something I'm not going to wait around to find someone to do it with. I'd rather not miss out.

You're so right! And if I'd have realized that a few months ago, I probably would have been packing my suitcases right about now!

Go, go, go!! I completely agree with all of the other PP's...don't miss out on life experiences based on what anyone else might or might not think about you. Go and be your fabulous self; everyone will be able to see what a wonderful time you're having, and the only thought that will be running through their heads is "I wish I was having such a great time!"

Amen to that!

Hi everyone!
I'm totally new here and so excited to join this amazing community!

I live in Israel but grew up both here and in the US. I'm now almost 31 and visited Disney World and Disneyland countless times as a child and twice over the past 4 years. Divorced, no kids, I live alone and am pretty used to doing things on my own.

Still, the thought of visiting Disney World all alone is a bit depressing for me.
My biggest fear (as I saw others mention as well) is the rides. I'm a large woman and very self conscious about my body. I'm fine with it for the most part, but getting on rides alone scares the heck out of me.
The last time I was there was exactly two years ago, October 2013 with a cousin (first timer!!!!) which was amazing, and the time before that was December 2012 with my parents and siblings. (Which was meh. They're not big enough fans for my taste.)

I have a guy friend who would be an amazing travel partner. He's never been but loves the thought of going and loves the magic almost as much as I do. The thing is, I don't think it would be a good idea to travel with him unless we're in a serious relationship (which might be a future possibility as he's getting divorced.)
Bottom line is, I've been saving up for a year now and have no one to fly with. My ideal trip would be right about now- sometime between mid October and mid November. Well, looks like that's not gonna happen.

So.... what do you guys think?
Take the chance and travel alone? Wait a few more months and see what happens with Mr. guy friend?
(Which might mean waiting an entire year if I want to wait for the fall to come around again!)

Thank you so much for your input! :-)

Hi...I'm new here. I've been trying to find someone to go with me in November. I can go from November 21-26. If you happen to be there during that time, I'd love to have company and a travel companion.

Hey, I'm actually going in January. There's a thread somewhere with people looking for travel partners. Check it out! :)

I would say book a trip for next year at this time maybe stay for 2 weeks ( if you can afford it) that way you can see the hollowed and Christmas stuff and go to both parties and you can do a lot of ADR for things you like and if MR right comes a long and you are dating then he can come too

and I am about your age and I like going solo better then with other people, but going with just one other person is the way to go

Hi everyone!
I see people are replying to this thread again so here's an update-
I chickened out of going solo :D
I'll be taking my younger sister (16) who basically hit the Disney jackpot since I'll be paying for everything..
We're going in January!!
The 19th until the 23rd at Pop and then switching to the CR until the 28th.
10 days of heaven :)
Thanks so much for everyone's help!

How fun to take your younger sister! I hope that my daughters will do things like this together someday. You guys will have a blast!!
