OK, so I am doing research on finding a secluded campground in New Hampshire that is NOT near a major road. The one thing I hate is camping and being able to hear cars driving by all the time. I am currently looking at Ayers Lake Farm Campground in Barrington, has anyone been there, live near there, have any info on the area?

If you don't know anything about that place can you suggest a place in New Hampshire for camping? I'd like to be near or next to a lake or some kind of water and as I mentioned, some place secluded and quiet!

TIA

I live in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and the camping here is beautiful - usually right on the Saco River. If you call the Chamber of Commerce here, I am sure they can tell you more.

I don't know the area but we did go camping at Seven Maples in Hancock, NH - just last summer. it was nice, clean and they had a ton of activites for the kids (we went for the 4th of july) - it was in the woods - real quiet and the kids rode their bikes but still about 30 min from shopping - target, walmart, etc.
here is the website - you can poke around there for photos. let me know if you have any questions....

I'm from Rochester and a little bit familiar with Barrington though it has been many years since I lived there. This summer I'm staying at a cabin at a campground in Barrington called Barrington Shores. http://www.barringtonshores.com/ I have to say that when I think of camping in NH I think about the White Mountains or Mt Monadnock region but my sister and I picked Barrington since it is only about 15 minutes from my elderly parents who may want to visit during the day. The nice thing is when you do things like grocery shopping you aren't in a touristy area. My sister lives in the area so I can ask her if she knows about the campground you are talking about unless someone else knows more. I can call my sister tomorrow if you don't get any other replies. If you have a location that you can pm me I might be of better help.
