Judy Kaufman has announced her retirement :sad2: So, now I need to find a new guide. Anybody want to recommend one?

I don't know if it makes a difference who you have?

Since the pricing is the same no matter which Guide you buy from. Buying while on a cruise used to give you some extras but I don't think that any Guides are permanently assigned to DCL and you have to be on a cruise to get the perks.

Guides at the SSR Sales Center seem to get things like DVC tote bags to give out while Guides who work from home and Celebration don't.

IMO the sales aspect of DVC doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Some Members get a referral credit but Disney can take months to give us the credit if they do it at all. Members should not have to fight to get their credit. Others who due to local laws don't receive the credit used to at least get a thank you from their Guide but that is also hit or miss. Watching the webcast may or may not get you the lithograph that they promised.

Not a great way to do business.

Judy was ours as well.....received her retirement postcard just a few days ago. Nice touch I might add, though we never spoke to her beyond the initial purchase it was always nice knowing that we could.

Sad to see Judy leave, :sad1: but wish her all the best for a wonderful retirement! pixiedust:

So I'm also looking for a new guide recommendation, too ;)

Here's a vote for David Miller. I've never had an issue with him at all. He's been great.

When I bought, a neighbor referred me and I got a nice discount.....it was quite high(like 2500). So instead of getting a certain sales agent.....I would see if they still offer the referral discount!

Rob Shapiro. We did the tour with him, then bought resale b/c we only wanted 50 points at the time. He continuted to be our guide. Very nice to us (even though we bought resale). We always get the welcome home recordings from him when we stay at DVC.
Also, we did an add-on 2 years ago. He was very attentive. Transaction went very smoothly. Elaine

Judy has been our guide since our initial purchase in 2000. We began working with her in 1999 and she was wonderful, friendly, professional and thorough. Never rushed or pushed us at all. It took us 8 months to commit and she was there answering questions through the whole process, sometimes I called every week!

Every trip to WDW she would leave a voice message in our room welcoming us home. She was the best! Going to miss her, and wish her all the best in her retirement!

I too, am guideless :sad1:
Don't need one right now, but will in the future (poly:cool1:)
