Just in case you don't know what this means, here's an explanation.

It's a moment, a defining moment when you know your favorite television program has reached its peak. That instant when you know from now on... it's all downhill.

And a link to the website:
Jump The Shark

The TV shows can be old and off the air or still currently running.
Decide if the show listed in the post before yours has jumped or not. A few whys and whynots would be good.
Then you list a show for the next person to comment on.
If you've never seen the show, just add NSI (never saw it) and list a show of your own.

Example:
The Mickey Mouse Club.
Never Jumped.
Because it's got Mickey.

or

Ally McBeal
Jumped when they brought in Ally's daughter.
When you have to add a kid to the mix, that's always a bad sign.

or

The Apprentice
NSI

I'll start with ...

American Idol

NSI

Brady Bunch -- when they brought in Cousin Oliver. If I'm not mistaken, he had a shark fin on his back!! :teeth:

Back to Seinfeld (I think I'm the only person in America that never watched it)

AI jumped after Fantasia won, then it got boring.

Seinfeld

Seinfeld: Jumped after Susan died from the glue on the envelopes.

Next: The Simpsons

Never Jumped. I've only seen this show a couple of times but it always seems to offer a new way to offend people. :rotfl2:

How about...

24

The Simpsons - Never jumped

Lost - Jumped when Shannon was killed off

Sorry to jump on your post virgo10! We must have posted at the same time.

Oprah...She has taken a moon jump with the berating of the author of "A Million Tiny Pieces" on her show.

Dr. Phil???

I don't have a reply for the previous post so I don't know if Dr. Phil has jumped the shark yet or not (but if he did, I think the shark might get hurt...Phil is kind of a heathy-sized guy!)

hmmmm, "24" though...
I don't think they've jumped the shark yet, but they're getting kind of close, (though it is in keeping with the show's premise), but *really*, just how many more characters can they kill off?!?

Dallas
Jumped the shark when the entire previous season was Victoria Principal's dream...

agnes!

"24" jumped when Kim went into the woods at met the cougar. They have went with that kind of over the top story ever since. It's actually become quite the comedy, but nothing like the shows before that.

E.R.?

ER - when they killed Dr. Romano by dropping a helicopter on him.
Las Vegas - when they killed Monica by having a big gust of wind blow her off the roof.

Dr. Phil jumped the shark when he released his "diet" candy bars.

Okay, when did Dancing with the Stars "jump the shark"?

CSI: When the announced the second series.

South Park?

Oh come on, each of them jumps on their own.

IMO "Vegas" jumped when the tried to make the show fresh by splitting the team up into different shifts.

IMO South Park jumped when they killed Kenny for good.

I thought I was the only person in America that never watched Seinfeld. So, now there are two of us. I'll also add that I've never seen an episode of Survivor.

Agree that Brady Bunch jumped the shark when Cousin Oliver became one of the bunch

Geez, I never watched Seinfeld either. We could start a club.

Don't see another program listed so how about Star Trek... any of them.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine jumped the shark in its second episode, and then again when the added Worf.

How about Michael Jackson?

Right after that TV performance when he moon walked. I think that was the last time he even remotely looked normal.

How about the Godfather movies.

That happened relatively recently... with Godfather IV.

How about the term, "jumped the shark" itself?
