New free dining offer yeaaah

Hopefully someone sees this post in this thread that seems to get longer by the page every refresh.

Has anyone ever changed the age of their kid to be 3 when they are actually 2 for the free dining plan? Before we weren't considering it but since now it's free, it would be nice if she wanted to eat to have her own food instead of eating off our plates.

Also we are staying at Pop and get the QSDP free which I upgraded to the DDP the kid prices doesn't change between the 2 plans.

You would need to purchase park tickets for her.

I've never done it for free dining.

But last trip for "paid" dining. She was ALMOST 3 during the trip (turned 3, actually, the day we arrived home). We just listed her as 3 on the DDP, and paid for her, so that we didn't have to deal with plate sharing, etc.

You're going to see a lot of debate on this one (I've seen it before) in relation to free dining. I won't get into the ethical debate that will ensue.

Suffice to say: You CAN do it. I'll let the debate ensue as to wether you should or not.

Note that you will need to buy her park tickets.

I had to be to work this morning at 7:30 am so i got up early and was in the parking lot at 6:55am. Called right at 7:00 am and listened to radio Disney till 7:15 am. Spoke with a lovely young lady and was able to apply the Free Dining to our current reservation with a savings of $ 919.80 :cool1::woohoo::dance3:party::jumping1:

:thanks: Danny

I got scared at first she told me most of my dates were blacked out. I told her i'm pretty sure as long as my check in date is within the dates offered I should be ok. After placing me on hold briefly she came back and applied the discount.

Can't wait till November :santa: DD and I can enjoy 10 nights of Free Dining during Thanksgiving and MVMCP party:

Was on hold for total of 68 minutes however did get thru. Had a great representative and was able to apply discount with no issue. Staying at POR 11-27 thru 12-3 with free dining. Even with having a previous promo code on my reservation the free dining still saved us over $300.00

For those still on hold she did say there are over 300 calls on hold.

Good luck hope everyone gets what they want.
:cheer2::cheer2:

we called a tick before 7, directed to wrong CM area, but after getting back into resort que was able to book in 45 minutes or so. she said there were 400 calls then. (wow read later post that said nearly 1000 on hold this morning!)

NOW I can do the happy dance! :banana:
Sorry for being a doubter Danny, but well...you can't believe EVERYTHING you read on the internet ;)
thanks for posting...it has been a fun few days, and now that I am getting over $300 back from Disney, its gonna be an even more fun vacation. WOOT! WOOT!
:cheer2:

I was on hold (after calling right at 7am) for over 1.5 hours when I finaly could get back on these boards and I saw the post a few pages back with an alternative number. I stayed on hold on my house phone and called the new number with my cell. Got a live person in 5 minutes, got my new reservations for me and my family (grand gathering) updated some dining ressies within a half hour. All the while I was still on hold with the first line! While we only saved $100 (bacause we had 35% off for resort before and we added my husband because he FINALLY got the week off of work)....I am so excited. My sister and family saved a few hundred and my brother that had no discount saved over $700!

Now we just have to wait for december.

A million thanks, Danny25 and all who gave good information!! I could never get through to add free dining ti my Feb 2012 Pop trip so i priced out online and just went ahead and booked Port Orleans French Quarter with Free Dining. Its what I wanted anyway and it's more affordable now. First time I've ever had 3 Disney trips and a cruise in 8 months. Its not really all for me as we are taking grown children and grandchild! THANKS DANNY25. I <3 YOU!

Thanks just realized that. So I assume there is no way for her to just get the Free Dining then w/o the park tickets.

Yeah, that's the only part is the park tickets. I guess I'm going to have to pass and if need be I'll just order her meal from the kids menu.

She just turned 2 this month so I guess it was a good thought at first.

Wait, now I am confused. If the dining plan would be 47.99 per day per adult and there are two of us and we are traveling 10/7-10/15, shouldn't our savings be way more than 292.80? Like around 767.84? What am I not understanding?

The CM asked me too if I found this on the WDW website? I just told her "no, on a fan site" Don't they know the power of ... Disney Fans/addicts??

funny, the resort CM we first got didn't know about the deal and was interested on where we learned about it, which site, etc. :thumbsup2

Where are you staying?

It sounds like, yes, your savings should have been more. Provided, that is, that you weren't already applying a discount to your package (like one of the PIN codes or other package deals that Disney was offering). You can't stack discounts.

Just modified our existing reservation at POR for Nov 18 - 25 to include dining!!!! I was only on hold for about 35 min.

Called the 407-939-7675 number if that helps anyone.

THANK YOU DANNY!!! :worship:

Hey Dill - we will be there the 18th through the 23rd at PORFQ. I see you are from Houston as well (we are in Spring).

Have a magical vacation!!

Can anybody help me with the phone number I need to dial to get the free dining. I keep getting the curcuits are busy and want to make sure I am using the correct one. I have 407-939-5692 is this correct? please help.

407-WDISNEY

I'm not sure what that translates into for #'s.

However, many people are reporting getting the same thing. Just keep hitting redial. Evenually it should connect.

It depends where your staying at? Moderate or Value?

So I'm am I the only one thinking Disney made this WAY harder than it had to be? First no Disney Visa advance sale, second they could have waited a week or so to roll out the 2012 dates. They could have spread out some of this madness!

Oh well, at least the deed is done.

Now I need to go back and do the happy dance for all the naysayers who said all year that this would never happen. I NEVER lost faith!:banana::banana:

LOL, you know when you spend too much time of Facebook when you look for a "like" button so I can "like " your comment. hehe...
Must have been cause I woke up at the crack of dawn to book FREE DINING!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Riverside. Ugh, now I have to call back.

Has anyone checked - I think my ticket price went up to the new rate when the free dining was added. The price seems off somehow and that is all I can figure. Anyone have a link to what the ticket price was before this latest round of increases? We have an 8-day base ticket.
