New free dining offer yeaaah

So I'm am I the only one thinking Disney made this WAY harder than it had to be? First no Disney Visa advance sale, second they could have waited a week or so to roll out the 2012 dates. They could have spread out some of this madness!

Oh well, at least the deed is done.

Now I need to go back and do the happy dance for all the naysayers who said all year that this would never happen. I NEVER lost faith!

All in. Nov 5th-12th free dining. Its a better deal then the 20% off code I had for the Boardwalk. Once you put in the $ I was going to spend on Quick Service and then the cash I would drop on the table service we already booked. Its a savings of $1200 over the $587.

Yayyyyyy! Just got an email from my wonderful TA Merrie and we were able to upgrade from Pop to POFQ with free regular dining - 2 rooms October 26th - November 2nd!!!! Thanks Danny for the heads up and time to play with numbers and scenarios. Thanks Merrie for being on hold for 2 and 1/2 hours and getting mine done before I head to work!!!!!

I started my wait at 9:30 this morning and they picked up at 10:45. I was just starting to give her my reservation number when the call got dropped! Back on and waiting again. I just keep telling myself it will be worth it!

Called at 7 on the dot and waited on hold for an hour with no music (while at work on a work line ) then had to hang up.

Called back repeatedly from 8:30 - 9:20 and received "All Circuits Busy". Finally, at 9:21 got a pickup, requested reservation modification, and got music Then after about 20 minutes I got a CM who happily helped me out and applied the discount but said the system did not want to update and could not give me a definite total but that I saved A LOT of money but would send me a confirmation email. I got into the reservation system after hanging up and my account was updated...I saved about $750 on my reservation for 3 adults/2 kids for 2 rooms at ASMo for Dec. 14-20th! My DH is THRILLED!!!

So, I called @ 7 AM and after holding for 90 minutes, tried a different # on a different phone. Got through that in 30 minutes, while the original call was still on...so hung up that one!

Got exactly what I wanted, POFQ for 7 nights (11/13-11/20) with Free Dining. $1049 savings off of rack rate. (Yay!) But, for me, it was more about being able to upgrade from an existing package @ POP for roughly the same price.

The nice thing was because I was able to change the existing reservation, I got to keep the old ticket prices (pre-price hike!), so saved a bit of money there as well.

Also booked a 3-day room-only at the start of the trip (11/10-11/13), which at the moment is also full rack rate. I am not expecting to have to stay at that rate for long. I will either re-book when the room discount rate comes out in a few weeks -or I will rent DVC and stay at OKW for a few days, so I expect a few hundred less than the current price.

Since I was anticipating FD not starting until 11/13, my ADRs reflect that already, so I am all set there. Happy days!

Also yesterday got a price drop on one of our SWA for $80 in credits.

AND finally...today is double-digit-dance day.

I don't understand... I had my reservations for 10/23 already set and so when the FD came I out I could just put it on my existing reservations. Long story short, CM said my dates were blacked out. ummm what? I see other people are getting FD for the same dates?!

I then hung up and jumped online. I saw that my dates were indeed not blacked out and made a whole new reservation with FD for the same exact dates... I'll just cancel my original. But what gives?

That is what I did. Spent 90 minutes on the phone before work required me to get off. Always hard to say how many rooms are allotted so rather than risk I spent the 5 minutes to book online and will cancel my existing reservation when wait times are lower.

Oh, and I opted to just have the refund put on my Key to the World card toward charging purchases rather than a refund to my credit card. Didn't even know that that could be done!

Thanks again to Danny for the heads up and also thanks to all the CM's that are working so hard. I give them A LOT of credit because I know they are SUPER BUSY today!
