my wife just got off the phone with cm, after she gave the code, the cm first asked for the dates (we're oct), then said...nicely...i'm sorry that i can't help you "right now". my wife asked are you sure, and she repeated the "right now" line. she (the cm) was really nice and seemed to want to help. maybe later travel was easier to get, or they clamped down after a few went through?

she then called a friend to see how they made out, and her friend was told "call back tomorrow, it would be a good time to spread the pixie dust"

Are you kidding? I busted out my old bluetooth I never use and dusted it off and have it charging so I won't get a crick in my neck while I carry on with all my chores as I am anxiously awaiting my turn on hold tomorrow!

Oh and BTW Thanks Danny25.... thanks to you, my dishes are piled up in the sink, my dirty laundry pile is higher than my machine, my trash cans are overflowing, I have office-chair sores, eye strain, and carpal tunnel from the constant Disboard reading... but I will be getting FREE DINING tomorrow!!!!!!

You do. And you can not stack discounts - it's either a FD discout or a room discount, never both.

The other poster was probably talking about the fact that a decent room discount (probably 40%) would save them more money than a free dining discount. Again, depending on the size of your party, a room discount is usually a better discount than a FD discount if you are staying at a deluxe resort - not always, but most of the time. Generally, a FD discount saves you more money than a room discount if you are staying at a value or moderate resort.

I was planning on going nov 6 thru 13 but those days are blocked out... Is there anyway to avoid this? Like if I go Nov 8 thru 15 would I get free dining? Do I just have to be there one day when it is offered?

Also for the military discount can I get free dining with that too?

Our first two nights were prior to the free dining promo so I booked those two nights using a 25% off room only reservation. I then booked a package using the free dining promotion. I saved a ton of money using the % off and free dining promotion....over $1,600!

So not only will I be up at 7am to add the promo to my existing reservation but I just found out my new washing machine will be delivered tomorrow between 7:30 and 11:30am!! Sounds like a great day!!!!
Thanks to everyone for all their help, insider info and insight! We shall see what tomorrow brings...I can't wait to log on and read the boards.
We have a grand gathering travelling 11/18 - 11/25...my parents & us have our rooms at the WL on the club level but I have been making lists and checking prices for other options since I am sure we won't get the discount applied to our room. WL CL is sold out for our dates and I figure they won't offer a discount when the rooms are already full. So I have Plan B, Plan C, Plan D, etc... Hopefully something will work for us!!

I'm not above the foot-stomping idea. Is February when the Brazilians descend? And yes, I know not all Brazilians are obnoxious before anyone starts in on me! Just the ones that come to Disney in mass groups.

There were some Tour groups there in Feb but they weren't an issue. My understanding is that the ones in Feb are families and the other ones (not sure when?) are lightly chaperoned teens. Big difference.

We went early Feb and loved it. Crowds were really low.

you must check in or november 5 or november 13 and you will get FD for all of your stay.
you must choose or military or FD.

It seems that DX3 it's for values for this year, you can ask tomorrow for FD offer for 2012 and they will tell you the code and apply to your existing reservation, you are welcome

might change dates from end of april to march if the 2012 rumor pans out. the crowd levels for march scare me though. how bad are they? save $500 or low crowds? thoughts?

Wow, way too sensitive. Until it is released, this is a rumor no matter how many times you confirm it. If it turns out to be legit, then I'll gladly thank you. Other "sources" have also mentioned variations of your rumor. Should be interesting to see who, if anyone, is correct. If you are wrong, then I hope you reappear to apologize, especially to those people who change their vacations based on your rumor.

Why, exactly should Danny apologize for some random person jumping off the cliff early and changing plans based on a rumor?

It would be super if they announced the dates listed for 2012 as well as extending it into Nov/Dec. I would love to move my dates from Sept to Oct. But I suppose I'd have to wait until this time next year to find that out and I cannot do that.
