New free dining offer yeaaah

Yea, that's kind of a new one. DV always gets a 3 day headstart....wonder why not this time. Maybe the new rules about credit cards and reward programs has somehow changed the way they can offer these deals?

Actually in 2010 - the July 6th offer for FD from 8/15-12/21 was not offered to Visa card holders first, and neither was the 8/16 FD extension for 10/1-12/21 (and dates into 2011). Both went straight to the general public.

Well DP has the time off for our vacation officially and money matters are all sorted. BRING ON THE FD! :cheer2:

Sometimes. Sometimes it's after the offer has already opened to the general public. If there is a Disney Visa free dining offer, you are most likely going to see it here on the Dis before the DV/Chase site. It's sad, but true.

Thanks for the information, I actually used it for my deposit when I made these reservations. I will let my Dreams Unlimited planner know about this too.

Not if they have a minimum 3nt stay

Also we don't know for sure if the black out dates are correct. I remember seeing Webmaster John say that the information on the first post wasn't 100% accurate so it could be that those dates may change
You must stay minimum 3 nigths, and time will tell if the information is 100 %
accurate,I'm the member of this boards that have bring this new of the FD only wait 2 more days and everybody will see that's ALL the information including the blackout days is exactly, have a Magical vacation my friend:wizard: :thumbsup2

Something for us unlucky ones whose dates fall into the blackout periods, if the above date of July 6th is accurate, I know I rec'd via email a pin# that covered the blackout dates in 2010 days later on July14th.
Keeping fingers crossed for a similar pin# to cover this years blackout dates.

Unfortunately, doing a split stay would require you to buy tickets for the 2nd part if you want the free dining promo.

For free dining, you have to book a package, which includes tickets. Now, you could make the first reservation for tickets long enough to cover your stay and then just get the minimum (2 day tickets) with the 2nd part and save those for a future trip.

Doing a split stay with two packages is really expensive with this promo because of the ticket requirement.

Now, you can split stay with dining for the first part and no dining for the second part. In this case, the dining credits would expire at midnight on your check out day (the day you check in to the 2nd resort).

You really would not need to link the reservations because the main goal of that is to ensure that people who book room only/package to qualify for a discount won't have to change rooms. If you are changing resorts, there is nothing to really link.

Luggage transfer is easy--just get a hold of bell services and have them come get your bags or just bring them to them on check out day. Let them know where you are going and they will send the bags.

Once you get to the new resort, and are in your room, give them a call and they will bring it up. The only advice I can give you is to be sure you keep out any things you want as it can take until the late afternoon for the luggage to be at the new resort--things like swimsuits, etc.

Thanks for the info!!

So, when I call on Wednesday to book my trip I need the code posted on the first page? Or is this open to general public and they will just offer it when I call?

Just watch these threads here on the DIS for confirmation that the info on page 1 has the correct code. If you think these threads are busy now........ just WAIT. You won't be able to MISS the official announcement!

We have done a split stay in the past during Free dining. 4 nights at CBR with FD and 3 nights at Poly with 40% off room. Having FD for part of the trip worked out fine especially since we are not big eaters. We did all our table service res with Free dining. Honestly it was so much food that we were happy to move to Poly without the FD. I can't remember how we handled the tix but I'm pretty sure we had 7 day passes and they transferred the days left to our Poly room keys.

If you are planning on calling first thing in the monring, I think it's better to have the code in hand just in case - there will actually be some CM's that will not know about the discount...:confused3
Personally, I think it should be mandatory for all CM's to become members of disboards:worship:

Not looking forward to Wednesday when I get online at 6am and find the board has jumped twenty pages and I'm playing catch up as quick as I can while dialing the phone to make my reservation!!! :hyper:

Is the offer for the days you're actually staying for those actual dates OR is it for as long as your check in dates falls on those dates? Im looking to do the 11/19 to 11/26- does that mean i only get free dining for that 1 day 11/19?

In the past, the policy has always been that if you check in during free dining dates you have free dining the entire stay (up to 14 days). No guarantees on the terms this time around, though.

I'm actually a little worried that this thread is so quiet today! Maybe we've already discussed every possible scenario! :lmao:

cool.. thanks.. i always thought your entire travel dates has to fall under those dates.

Been following this thread for the past couple of days and I have a question...I know groan!!!
We are AP holders and I was hoping for a room only discount...our travel dates are 11/18 - 11/25 at WL CL. We have a package booked already for the dates, room, one day ticket and quick service dining plan...the CM booked it that way while waiting for AP rates to be released. But now I am thinking I could switch to free dining if this promo is for real...but what would I do with the two day base ticket?
Can I save the two day ticket and apply the credit at a later date if I decided to renew AP in 2012
or
if I plan another trip after my AP expires and I don't renew but just purchase a package through Disney can I apply the credit to that ticket package??
Don't know if I should take advantage of this offer or hold for a possible AP rate. The CM who booked my package was funny - he kept telling me he was certain there would be an AP rate for my dates...I'm a little skeptical since it is Thanksgiving. We didn't buy AP's for room discounts but because from April 2011-April 2012 we are going four times.
Thanks for the help!!
Debbie
