Danny25, any word from your source for free dining 2012? Inquiring minds want to know...:flower3:

Been following this thread for the past couple of days and I have a question...I know groan!!!
We are AP holders and I was hoping for a room only discount...our travel dates are 11/18 - 11/25 at WL CL. We have a package booked already for the dates, room, one day ticket and quick service dining plan...the CM booked it that way while waiting for AP rates to be released. But now I am thinking I could switch to free dining if this promo is for real...but what would I do with the two day base ticket?
Can I save the two day ticket and apply the credit at a later date if I decided to renew AP in 2012
or
if I plan another trip after my AP expires and I don't renew but just purchase a package through Disney can I apply the credit to that ticket package??
Don't know if I should take advantage of this offer or hold for a possible AP rate. The CM who booked my package was funny - he kept telling me he was certain there would be an AP rate for my dates...I'm a little skeptical since it is Thanksgiving. We didn't buy AP's for room discounts but because from April 2011-April 2012 we are going four times.
Thanks for the help!!
Debbie

Yes you can save the 2-day pass and upgrade it to a AP in 2012 but I'm not sure if that would have to be done in the World or not.:confused3

Danny25, I pray you're right because we just changed our flight tickets ($102/per ticket) to accommodate free dining. It's a huge savings and absolutely worth it to us.

I hope you're a DIS hero on Wednesday!

I hope he's right too. I'm getting ready to buy my tickets now and save at least 300 up to 600.

That's quite a leap of faith! Mouseplanet is reporting that there will probably be an offer Wednesday, although they think the dates will vary a little from what's reported here.

I am trying to book on disney's site and I don't see a spot to put the free dinning discount code for a 12/11 - 12/16 stay. Help please I am a newbie :earsboy:

Offer will not be released until Wednesday. You will not need to enter a code .... it will show up under special offers on the website. I believe there is one there now that is good thru sometime in Sept.

I agree with you, if it were me I would have waited until I had my new package booked to change my flights.

I just remember the 7 for 4 deal and that Mousesavers was hinting at something big coming for days - and they have nothing up now. Don't get me wrong - I'm grateful for the heads up - I just think it's really strange that this isn't being confirmed all over the place. These deals are very hard to contain once they start leaking and I would have thought it would be more widespread by now.

We're also there that same week. And it does look like crowd numbers are low (same as they are the rest of the month). I'm surprised this would be blacked out and not Halloween week. The only thing I can think of is the convention going on at the Boardwalk hotels...but surely they already have food offered??:confused3

Oh well, I guess we'll see in the next couple of weeks!

The reason they chose those dates to black out is that it's the week of Columbus day. Lots of schools have Monday (and some have the previous Friday and the Following Tuesday) off...which mean (typically) larger crowds that week.

We're checking in on Oct 6th. WE (my family) are DVC members...so it doesn't effect us directly. However, my mom and step dad are coming along and have a package (room + ticket + Standard DDP) booked at the All Stars.

She's due to pay off the balance of her package on Wednesday....so she's going to call that afternoon (and I'll probably help her with the call) to see if she can get free dining applied to her existing package. We're there from the 6th through the 15th...so I'm hoping that they'll apply it to her entire trip, since we're checking in prior to the start of the blackout dates.

How many of you have your trip booked through a travel agent? I've already spoken with her and she was aware that a new offer was coming on wednesday, but wasn't notified of what it would be. Now I have to sit helplessly and hope that she is able to apply it to our reservations. I feel helpless! At least if I was on hold at 6 a.m. on Wednesday I would know that I was trying for myself. Hope she is as diligent with my reservations as I would be. Oooohhhhh.......the wait will be torture!!!

Anyone else in the same boat?

I haven't the slightest idea why people are changing their flights for a rumor!!! I'm a TA and no such information has even hit my desk yet. I won't release any info until Disney gives it to me.

This is ridiculous, people!

Wait until you get the info from Disney! Don't ruin your vacation and spend more money until you get official word.

:confused3

I'm NOT a TA, but tend to agree with this: People are changing their dates and flights, what if it's JUST a rumor? It'll be anarchy.

I'm kind of hoping Mouseplanet is right & it varies just a bit, lol. They seem to think it will be a Friday to Thursday type of deal for the availability instead of the Sunday to Saturday as originally posted here. If so, my check-in date would be included instead of blacked out.

But, I have not changed anything about my ressie & will not until I see an official announcement on Wednesday morning & know exactly what is in it, just in case! :woohoo:

I'm just thrilled to be confident that it's coming!! Now just waiting for all the little details!

This is exactly why I don't use a TA. I am way too much of a control freak over my vacations to leave it up to someone else. I just think about all the clients that she has to book discounts for all at once when something like this comes out. With my luck, I'd be at the end of her list and she wouldn't call in time for me to get the promo. That's just me though. A lot of people like not having the stress that I have to deal with by doing it myself.

No offensive to Danny, but I'm hoping the dates start December 10th, like the old FD offer, not the 11th.

We will see......

I love how the word "free" has gotten everyone into a tizzy, myself included.

I have run the numbers 100 times all weekend, I have dreamed of nothing but how to stay on property....but the "free" will end up costing me another $400 to ONLY get 2 "free" meals per day.

Bottom line...."free" doesn't look so "free" to me.

Buena Vista Suites HERE WE COME. I will have a suite, with frig. and coffee maker, and FREE breakfast and I am very happy to only be paying......$588 (that's with taxes) for 7 nights.

I hope that this rumor is true for all of you waiting for it. I can't wait to hear your great stories on Wed of being able to change your reservations and get your free dining and all of the ADR's you made b\c of it.

And for those you who think I will be missing some magic...don't worry, there will be tons of magic for is cause we are only paying $588 for our accommodations, now we can afford ALL the magic we want. (again, we have never really stayed on property, so I don't have a clue what I am missing)
I have stayed on property, know what I'm missing, and it's not a big deal. :D We're good, figmentswife. Now...when are you going again? I can't remember and I know our dates are similar.

<------SAME HERE!!!!! Diagnosed with OCD for good reason! lol I not only plan my own vacations, but I help out with my friends as well.

I'm hoping the dates are wrong, but not holding my breath. In a day and a half we'll know who prevails with the new offer. Friday would be a nice start date.....for that, I'll be able to stay onsite. One can only hope....
