New free dining offer yeaaah

Being realistic, very few people have the time to jump on, discover this thread and finish 31 pages before asking a question. If it has been asked and answered 12 times, so what. I think that is o.k. Nobody is forced to answer. New people pop on all throughout it and we can all answer if we have the answer and feel like it. If 12 people ask maybe 10 different people can answer. I have never been snarky on here in over 10 years and don't want to start but If I had been the one to ask a simple question and had people laughing at me how they were floored that I couldn't simply read 31 pages, well my feelings would be hurt.

Princess Tiffany is awesome and very patient.

This has always been the same. It's not out of the realm of possibility that the CM didn't know. Or that maybe she misunderstood. Stop looking at it in terms of how many of your days are within the plan. The entire thing is based on your CHECK-IN date. If that date is included in the promotion, you can have it for your ENTIRE stay, up to 14 days max.

We are checking in on the 10th, but the promotion blacks out the 10th and doesnt' start again until the 11th. That's why we'll do a room only the first night, followed by a second reservation, this one with a package with a check-in date of the 11th, which IS part of the promotion. From there, I can have up to 14 days (I WISH we could stay that long!) regardless of when the last day of the promotion is.

I hope that is clear.

It's scary how many of the CM's are misinformed. i just spoke to someone on Friday inquiring on upgrading are dining to delux. She was looking at my dates and I asked if a free dining promotion was available during my check in date 11/18 would I be able to take advantage of the offer. I was also told only for the days that were included in the offer not my entire stay :confused3

I know in the past this is not true I'm just worried if this is yet another way Disney is trying to cut back on discounts by making it very date specific. Sorry just stressing a little.

I constantly hear people complain that they are sick of the FreeDDP promo because they can never get an ADR. Can someone explain this one to me? :confused3 Because we went last year during the FreeDDP promo and never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table. I even called 2 days prior to one of our TS meals and canceled, then asked for an ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern (One of the many places people gripe about being packed) and I got an ADR for the time I wanted. So where is all of the irritation here coming from? I for one love the FreeDDP promo and hope they keep doing it. And it always saves us around $1300. So bring the FreeDDP on!! That's an extra $325 per person in spending money for us.

It was awful 2 years ago when FD was open for everyone. We've gone when we booked with a code and it is wonderful. I am actually doing FD (with the PIN I got last year). I was really hoping FD wouldnt be available for everyone during our dates, though. PIN codes cut down on the crowds (at least, that has been our experience).

I just called Disney and someone in Disney Dining Reservations told me that they would have to book two reservations (One for the days inside the promo dates adn the other for the remaining dates) so I called back to the normal Disney Reservations line (not Disney Dining) and talked with a supervisor that confirmed what has been said here. That as long as your check-in date falls within the promo dates, you get the promo for your full trip.

Oh I understand about the crowd thing. It has gotten worse over the past years during the FreeDDP but I just don't understand why people say that they cannot get an ADR during that time. It was much less crowded when they didn't have the FreeDDP promo.

Totally OT, but everytime I see your sig pics I have the same thought...

How in the heck do you get your oldest daughter to still wear those adorable matching boutique dresses and bows? My dd12 looks at me like I have 2 heads when I force her into them to match her brothers at Christmas and Easter!:sad2:
Well, that's really the only time I make them wear matching clothes anymore - Christmas pictures, Easter pictures and Beach pictures - so she's okay with it if it's only a couple of times per year. When they were little I used to match them almost everyday - probably until my oldest was about 9, I loved the girls in smocked dresses and my little boy in a matching smocked jon jon - I miss those days :-)

Oh and we still do matching at Disney too - at least color coordinating. This trip next week will be the first time I didn't have custom outfits made for my little girls for everyday of the trip. It's making me a bit sad, but they are just getting to big to wear the appliqued/hand made outfits for every day of the Disney trip. My 9 year old daughter thinks she is 21 ;-)

I didn't read all the pages on this thread, so my apologies if this has already been asked but, if this were true and the FD offer is being released next week on the 3rd, wouldn't it be announced for Disney Visa cardmembers first as has been the practice in the past? I just went into my Disney Visa account online and there is nothing new mentioned.....

I'd bet that the announcement on the 3rd will be for the VISA card holders. Then the general public announcement will be a few days later.

How exactly does this work?
Do you have to get there on the days it is offered?
Let's say we had a trip planned from December 10th to December 16th, would we be able to get free dining? Or is it only if you get there on the 11th?
Hope someone understands and can help us out, free dining would be a huge help!
Thanks so much!

In order to qualify, your check in date for the free dining package must be a valid date. In your case, you would have to check in on Dec 11th in order to get it because Dec 10th is blacked out (well, at least per this rumor it is).

If it ends up being accurate, what you can do is book Dec 10th for a room only reservation and then check out/in again on the 11th with your package. You can have the rooms linked and should not have to change rooms (though it is possible). You can also pick up your tickets the day early. You would not have the dining plan for the night of the 10th, but may be worth it!

That would make sense...I was thinking that because the few free dining PIN's that went out for Oct-Dec were for QS for mods that, that maybe where the error lies.
I hope not, but any discount is better than no discount at all:goodvibes

I agree 100%!!! I don't understand why some Disers appear to have a superiority complex on here and enjoy cutting others down. I guess its to make themselves feel better. Like the PP said, if it frustrates you to see the same questions, don't answer. And you don't have to come back to this thread if you don't have questions or don't have any help to offer others who are not as "knowledgable" as you!

I was thinking the same thing...Visa holders on the 3rd and then everyone else on the 13th (the other date that has been tossed around as a release date).

We were in the middle of planning a trip for Oct. 2-7 and staying offsite. Family of 6, MIL, and now my sister and her husband. We have historically stayed on site but since FD wasn't offered we were looking to save some money and stay off. Now that it appears FD will be offered we will stay on site.

Since the 45 day period is only 20+ days away we are trying to figure out how to pay the minimum at that point to get the FD and then upgrade when we get there. We are looking a package with 3 rooms at a value, 2 day ticket to get FD and then upgrading our tickets when we get there. Can you also upgrade the dining upon arival to the TS?

Last thing, do all the persons in every room have to have the same ticket or is that just per room? Some like to hop some don't...

Thanks in advance to any and all who reply. And a big kudos to the OP on this thread... you brought the magic back to a trip I wasn't really excited about.

I'll try to help: I believe you all will have to purchase a minimum 2 day base ticket but once you get there you should be able to upgrade them anyway you want .... at one of the parks or DTD. Dining plan would have to be upgraded and paid for prior to arrival. Okay experts was I right?

Thanks GG. How far before arrival? I get a bonus at the end of August that will pay for the trip so I'm trying to make that 45 day payment as small as possible.

I believe the entire package has to be paid for at the time of booking if you are under 45 days.

I was thinking the same thing...Visa holders on the 3rd and then everyone else on the 13th (the other date that has been tossed around as a release date).

Visa holders have never gotten that sort of lead time on a general public discount. Three days is pretty typical; 10 would be completely unprecedented. If it goes live for Visa on the 3rd, the latest I'd expect the general public offer to open would be the 8th. Thurs/Mon used to be a common pattern, so perhaps we'll see an 8/3 announcement, 8/4 booking for Visa cardmembers, and 8/8 for the general public.

I think even if free dining extends next week the 8/13 date still holds for the start of fall room-only offers. That's how it worked the past two years - the extension of free dining was announced before the expiration of the early fall offer, but the room only discounts didn't come until the prior offers had expired.

HI, the offer will be for the GP, it could be first for Disney visa cardholders but in the same conditions, value QSDP, moderates deluxe and villas DDP, August 3 is the day for the General Public,:goodvibes
