New Fastpass Privileges Coming?

Precisely Matt. The ONLY people who will benefit from this program are those who make just one trip to WDW each year and spend less than 5 days there. Otherwise, they'd have AP's.

I AM shut out of this program Bob. I spend about 30-40 days at WDW. If I were to book WDTC travel packages for those trips (disregarding the cost of paying rack rates for the room) I'd spend an additional $4500 or so in park tickets alone for my family each year. That's what it would cost me to get this privelege.

WDW charges what they do for an AP because they know the holders will use it. And when they do they will stay in the resorts, buy food and merchandise. The flat rate on the AP encourages more and more and more return visits.

I can nearly guarantee I spend more $ per annum than folks that travel to WDW once a year (no matter what concierge they stay in.) Those 30-40 nights are always in Disney resorts and we eat all of our meals in the World.

Clearly, AP holders aren't going to spend thousands of extra dollars on park passes in order to get premium fastpass. And it that's the only way to get it. Then, yes, they are being shut out. So who benefits? The one-timers or infrequent travellers. Quite honestly, WDW's worst customers.

What does this program do for me? IT. forces me to spend a larger portion of my day in attraction queues. It's that simple.

All of these arguments I'm hearing are based on the the assumption that Disney gives a flying fig about their guests. (Well, all except BobO's)

As much as I think that BobO is wrong, his line of thinking is, in my opinion, the exact same one that Eisner has.

It doesn't matter who Disney screws as long as it helps the bottom line. If they had ANY long-term goals, or weren't so short-sighted they wouldn't be in the slump that they're in now.

I'm not predicting what WILL happen, I'm talking about what should or shouldn't happen.

I also have doubt about disneys concern for their guests as of late. But everybody can choose to be involved in th FP option if they care too. No one is being told they cant be involved or is being discriminated against. Its a choice that the guests would have to make. Now some might choose not to buy it because of other decisions they made but wouldnt be prevented from getting one if they did chose too.
There are alot of decisions one makes when they go to wdw/dl. Stay on site/off site, budget or deluxe/character meals or not/length of stay/hopper passes. This would just add another decision one would have to make and how they prioritize the decisons they do make. Just another option, like what time of year you go etc.
