New Family Wanted

Fun Thread
Having people around that don't share our passion is difficult.
I do get a lot of "Stuff" from my family but most of the time they just put up with me. DH will "come along" and when we get down there he admits to having a good time.
But I'm always the cheerleader :cheer2:
So that's way I hang out here among Kindred spirits. :goodvibes

We should start an extended Disney family and go when our regular families are being party poopers.

This is a great Idea

Marry me and we can combine our points!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

so sorry your family does not appreciate Disney like you do.

the teen will be back - my nephew did not like disney - went to Universal on the trips to wdw. but college has changed his attitude. (too bad brought some US tickets for him - that now won't be used by him - might go myself)

maybe you need a trip w/o family - can your mother take care of your kids. Maybe a professional sitter can help. Sounds like you really need a WDW trip.

going Feb 28 for 12 days - first week offsite, then 5 days onsite. Right now it is solo but my BFF might be coming in March.

trying to move to Davenport (about 12 to 25 miles from WDW). the last Disney exit is 62, the exit will have is exit 55 - so not far.

:rotfl: DH loves Disney likes me, can't wait to visit his "pets" at AKV in Dec. My Dad informed me the other day that when he goes with us in 2011, he does not think he can take it for the whole 10 days:confused3. My Mom is die hard though and thinks he can come home by himself.:lmao: We do not have children and our Dog Daughter, Trinity, a precious Jack Russell, is always sporting her Minnie tag. I think I am the Disney Freak, until I meet my Dis friends for dinner every couple of months.....now those folks need help....and to think I met them here...any one on the MS Gulf Coast is welcome to join us! They are the only ones who understand the obsession. (see how well I roll my eyes)

Don't mean to hijack the post, but I am looking for new extended family members for DH! He needs a replacements sister and three brothers! Job requirements are few, since the current lot are such a sorry bunch! I'm so mad right now! They live in So Cal, Reno & S. Utah. DH is turning 40. The 5 of them haven't been together since their dad died 10+ years ago. So, I'm trying to surprise DH with a weekend trip -- trying to make it easy for them by having it central for them in S. Utah where they can all drive & stay w/ family. Except for the one that lives there -- they say they can't afford it. Grrr!!!! Oh well -- that brother has a bunch of elderly kids close to DH's age which DH wants to see, so that will be the big surprise & he'll enjoy it. I'm just not going to tell him that his sister and other 2 brothers don't care enough to spend $150 for gas to see their baby brother on his birthday. One of his brothers has never even met one of our sons -- he is SIX!! That brother doesn't want to cancel a trip they are planning to Disneyland in May with their kids -- their kids who are 24 and 27! (and still living at home) DMIL is great though! I've just never understood why 4 of the 5 kids were so darned selfish! Been married for 16 years I guess I should stop trying to understand it.

I'll be there starting 4-23 for F&W. It is one of my favorite times! I'll join the family, as my DH may be a little slow! He's recovering from a hip replacement!

My family is alway Disney crazy! We have a hard time with anyone outside the family understandling .:rotfl: We have cousins that are with some garden group that will be volunteering in Epcot on 4-24.

We are always willing to talk "WDW" with fanatics!

i could use some extended family too! We went in Jan and brought my parents for their first trip, but my DP who suffers from severe rheumatoid arthritis was in so much pain that the trip was fairly miserable, not to mention that three of the four of us each succumbed to an infection that cause severe vomiting for at least one night of the trip.

DP is not interested in going back anytime soon, but I can't travel and leave her at home. Perhaps someone can come up with a cloning program so I can stay home AND be on a vacation.

Getting sick on vacation should not be allowed. At least you are close enough to go to Disneyland often. Sigh -- we used to live 20 minutes away...DH would take DS to the "Park" :goodvibes -- I was going to plan a trip to VGC for his 40th, but we go to Disneyland 3 - 4 times a year. The last time his siblings were together was his Dad's funeral. I wanted to do something that would be more meaningful and I can't do it without their cooperation! Oh well, he'll see the family members who are there & have fun.

You'll love this though -- DH's brother & sister who live in So Cal -- they NEVER go to Disneyland with us -- not even when they can buy the 2-fer tickets. Because it's just TOO expensive! So, last January we went down for 5 days and stayed @ VGC, we invited one of the the Utah brother's elderly kids (DH's nephew) and his wife and kids to stay with us in a 2br (we found out that they have a Disney trip piggy bank). They bought their own park tickets and and meals and contributed to the breakfast groceries. Oh and we used the awesome grills! So the So Cal brother & sister are jealous that they haven't been invited to stay. :confused3 After complaining for 10+ years about what a waste of money it is to go to Disneyland! yeah....we'll see if I've cooled off before the 49 years runs out on the VGC membership!
