is this something I can purchase in advance? I am going in January.

Also, would this happen to include transportation from the disney resort hotels? Or would i just need to take the regular disney bus from the hotel? Thanks!

As of right now you cannot buy in advance and the service is only between parks, the manager that I spoke with told me that the test will last about a month and after that they might add the option to buy in advance

Because of security I don't foresee them every including this option. Possible but I believe HIGHLY unlikely. Logistics would be quite complicated.

So what you are guessing on length of test, maybe through January? Or literally a month from when it started?

the manager said they had the schedule out for one month exactly. So Jan. 7th?

Do they seem to think they're likely to extend it? My family is really interested in this for our end of Jan/early Feb trip. We'll have a baby and a grandparent with us and would LOVE an easier/faster way to park hop with them!

Thanks. I'm still toying with 3 different dates for our next trip. I was hoping to use it a lot to help with the success of the test but I can't swing a trip before this. I'm crossing fingers and toes it gets extended.

Me too! We will be there in Feb and it would be a huge help with the shortened park hours.

Love the idea, hate the up-charge.. go figure.
One reason we haven't park hopped in a long time was the time wasted getting from Park A to Park B and the fact that we never hopped EVERY DAY only once or twice. Of course, the last time we did park hop, the twins were still in strollers so that may have added to the aggravation. Paying for the park hopper has never been a peeve of mine, but now having to pay extra for transportation to effectively use the park hopper seems a bit greedy. But what do i know! For now, i suspect we will continue to pass on the park hopper..

My group of 6 adults in September 2017 will definitely be using this service. Can't wait!!
If it's still running. Currently it's just a one month test starting Jan 7th.

We'll be there in Sept too but am not sure if we'll use it or not. I can see buying it if we purchase park hoppers but I've been to Disney for the past 3 Septembers and we don't find that we need Park Hoppers since we tend to hop in the evenings. Many of the parks close earlier in September and with lower crowds we don't find it necessary to park hop.

But, if we decide to add PH and if it's still available....we'll be purchasing it and trying it out!

Especially considering one hopper reported 40 minutes park to park.

It's not like the bus is waiting for you... you must wait for the bus... and walk to it etc...

MG

But when you arrive at the other park, you don't have to wait for security/bag check and you don't have to wait to go thru the turnstiles. And the walk to/from the bus is inside the park, not all the way outside of the park and down the bus waiting area.

We used the service this past weekend - Saturday through Monday. There were 3 of us and we did a lot of park hopping ...maybe more than usual because it was so easy and quick to do. Loved the service! We never waited more than 10 mins for a bus except once when we just missed one pulling out. Right now they're not at all crowded and everyone got a seat. I use an ECV for the parks and no issues there either. I'd gladly pay $24 for this. Just being able to avoid security lines and the time and hassle involved with that was more than worth it. Best $24 I spent at Disney this trip!

Someone reported on twitter waiting one hour for the bus at MK to go to DHS. So far only negative one I've seen.

We need to differentiate the type of vehicle so we don't confused by calling them both busses. Like regular transportation bus could be called a bus, and the park to park upcharge service could be a Qbus (Quick Bus) or +Bus?

Since we are on the Express Bus Thread I figured I was safe in my comment.

I suppose if this service makes it past the test it might need a nickname. But I think the plus goes after the bus. Bus+

Heard about this from some friends of mine who will be at WDW for Christmas. Sounds like a pretty decent deal for those who hop park-to-park directly and want to maximize their attraction/dining time and minimize their travel time between parks.

Personally, because I don't go that often, going in through the main entrance of the parks is part of the experience I kind of enjoy. Especially MK and AK. And as for HS and Epcot, I like the boat ride between those two, and I love the monorail ride from MK to Epcot because the first time I ever saw Epcot as a kid was that loop through when we hopped over from MK.

I can see how this would be very useful for getting to another park quickly for a dining reservation or to hit some FP+ times though.

My friends are going to try it when they go next week. I'll be interested to hear what they think.

Let's be honest, if you're driving, getting in and out of MK is at a minimum a 20-30 minute jaunt just to get to your car. It's not nearly as simple as the other parks where you just walk out. So, in my opinion, just to hop between MK and the other parks makes this worth it!!! DH was super-excited about this new service for this reason.
