Have been to WDW many times but this is our first trip to Disneyland. We are there for 10 days and will of cause be doing Disney but was after any must see/places to visit so we can start getting things planned.
Any help will be most grateful.

Thanks for that but I was looking more outside of Disney what may be of interest or not to be missed.

Try this one:

How big a Disney nut are you? You may want to go to Hollywood to watch a film at the El Capitan & have ice cream next store and you could check out the footprints across the street at the real Chinese Theater (might make you feel like you're back in Florida).

You can drive by the outside of Disney Studios and catch a glimpse of the dwarfs holding the roof up and see the giant Sorcerer hat outside the Animation bldg.

And you should go to the beach and maybe San Diego for the zoo or Safari Park - if you've got real little ones ( under 10 ) you might want Legoland for 1 day.

Look at the previous guide I wrote near the end for some other ideas of things to do in SoCal.

There was just another post about this.. But I would do things you cannot do in WDW.

Personally, I would split your trip up. A few days at Disney and then go stay somewhere else. It will be very difficult if you are in Anaheim for all 10 days.
Unless you really want to see El Capitan, I would actually avoid the Hollywood area, especially Hollywood and Vine.

I would suggest:
Santa Monica Pier/3rd street promenade
Getty Center (amaaazzzzinnng views)
Disney Concert Hall (they offer tours and it is beautiful....we were there for a NYE concert...WOW)
Warner Brothers Studios offers tours

I am forgetting A LOT of things but I would pick up a SoCal guide book to see what there is to do.

I would say that you probably want to do 5 days Disney and 5 days in LA, or maybe even 4 days Disney and 6 days LA. Unless you want to do San Diego and then you can split it 3 days San Diego, 4 days Disney and 3 days LA. But I would not stay in Anaheim for 10 days.

I agree that 10 days is a long time to stay in Anaheim. You may want to break it up a bit. San Diego is a great option for spending 2-3 days. You can go to Sea World, the SD Zoo, Wild Animal Park, USS Midway, and the beach. There are also some local wineries, if you like to go wine tasting.

In LA, you might want to do Universal Studios. Depending what time of year you're visiting, you could catch a sporting event. If you enjoy water parks, there are a few choices.

Lastly, if you really want to take a drive, Las Vegas is only about 4 hours from DL by car. Certainly a lot to do there, and you could easily go for 2-3 days.
