Palio and their fantastic veal!

*throwing sunscreen into DF's luggage and telling her she's supposed to be packing and relaxing for her trip tomorrow!*

I know this thread isn't supposed to be chatty, but I wonder if run of the house means run amuck in the house? AKA what Disbug was doing last July while running up and down the halls at the Dolphin early in the morning in her bunny slippers, waking up other sorority members? (bunny slippers were added for drama and comedy!)
I agree...oh, PALIO (correction on my previous oversight, resulting from just getting OFF the MAGIC CRUISE where I enjoyed the BEST TEA in PALO!). I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the PASTA, PASTA, PASTA!!!

**Thanks for the help...can you fly out here tonight and put a FIRE under my FANNY?!?**I have not even cracked a suitcase yet~!! I'm not alone, as no one else has either!! :earboy2: If I forget anything, I'll just buy it in Orlando. I'm about as "laid-back" as they come...eh?!? :confused3

**RUN OF THE "HOUSE"...LOL!!! *(That's GOT to be it!! Emphasis on the word HOUSE, as in SORORITY!). I LOVE the memories and images of DENISE, running AMUCK summer 2004...which LOUBON enjoyed recounting in detail! :lovestruc

Take care, XO DF :wave2: {{{HUGS}}} :cloud9:

I have just a standard room booked for July 31-Aug 4th with the teachers rate of 149. Last summer we were upgraded for free to a balcony room with club privileges. With the number of points accumulated what could we upgrade to and how much? Should I just wait and see what we get complimentary(we are still gold members)

Thanks

I need a little clarification on how all of the fees add up. Is the 10$ resort fee per person or per room? If we are paying an extra $25 for a third adult in the room, is there an extra $10 resort fee? Can we elect to waive the fee?

What are the criteria for getting the teacher's discount. My wife is a 2nd grade teacher, would she have to be the one to make the reservation and use her credit card, or can I do it all? What would she have to use as proof of employement?

Sorry if these seem like basic questions, I haven't really been looking at the Swan/Dolphin. There just seem to be better discounts available for them so I'm doing some last minute info gathering.

I can help with a few questions. The resort fee is $10.00 per room and is independant of the extra charge for a 3rd adult. We did the same last summer. I haven't heard it's been possible to waive the resort fee for several years. There is also a parking fee at the S/D to keep in mind too.

If your wife is a teacher the ressie would have to be in her name. Proof of employment can be an ID card or a pay stub. I've also heard of folks bringing copies of their teaching license.

Sorry I can't help with the points question but there are other folks who post here who surely can. Hope you have a wonderful trip! :sunny:

Tiffany~thank you for your quick response. We are so looking forward to this little weekend trip. DH and I are celebrating our anniversary which is on the 1st, the day we check-in. My folks are watching the kids for us, I'm sure we probably won't know what to do with ourselves! :rotfl: We are undecided as to where we want to have our anniversary dinner, there are just so many choices at the resort and the Boardwalk in general. It will be fun deciding though. :goodvibes Any suggestions?

Thank you again for sharing your visit with us! :flower:

Our favs are LeCellier, Alfredo's, Yachtmans and Jiko. It you want to stay in this area then that rules out Jiko and I would say go with the Yachtsman. It is located over at the YC. We love it there.

Hi All,

We were able to see "Wishes" from, not just our room but our bed last night. It was great. Room 1012 at the Swan is amazing. The woman that checked us in said that we had a "great room" and she was not kidding. Close to elevators, king bed and an amazing view. We were also able to snag a late checkout of 1pm today. We are heading over to EC this morning to try and get on Sorin'.

DF - If you haven't left yet, bon voyage, and have a great summer! I've sent you a pm.

Deweysgirl - I have to second Tiffany's suggestion, we love Le Cellier, also Yachtsman and Flying Fish!

Two summers ago, we celebrated our anniversary at Cali Grille. Once the waiter realized it was our anniversary, he went out of his way to make our dinner extra special! Our dessert was a comp and it had Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. The waiter encouraged us to walk out on the balcony there after our entrees and before dessert. He wanted us to take our time and enjoy this very special evening.

:3dglasses #1Hockeymom~ Is this anything like pool hopping? Thread Hopping, I mean? Waving madly to Gail, Mouseteacher and all the recent posters! Hope you are enjoying planning your upcoming trips.

LOL I don't! I just figured I was the only one of us to actually be dorky enough <----dh's word)to wear bunny slippers! I forgot... I'm in like company!

We have a new plot.. collect all of your mugs! We're taking our mugs pool hopping! I just know the grotto pool won't mind, as it is one of the best pools on property!

Sounds like you had a wonderful stay Tiffany. Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm really looking forward to our first stay at the Swan in August!

But, of course, you WON"T find me pool hopping or mug-pool hopping! :smooth: :rotfl:

I saw a thread yesterday, that I can't find right now, that said the Swan & Dolphin may be ending the flat $10/day resort fee and replacing it with more a la carte charges for services used. The proposed start date for this was sometime in July.

Looking forward to hearing more details soon!

Anybody know of a good standard room at the dolphin? It will be me and my bf's first trip together so i would love to have a balcony but im assuming there is no such thing as a standard room with a balcony?!

Thanks for your help,
Chrissy :wave2:

Unfortunately, you're right - standard rooms do not have a balcony. However, it can't hurt to ask at check-in if a comp upgrade to a balcony room might be available.

For an anniversary dinner may I suggest Palios at the Swan? The atmosphere is very romantic and the food is great!!
Have a great trip and Happy Anniversary!!!!

Just back from the Swan and a wonderful vacation. My vote for an anniversary dinner would be bluezoo. Even though this is primarily a seafood restaurant I had the best filet - it just melted in my mouth. For anyone considering bluezoo who happens to have their kids with them, they offer two free hours of babysitting at Camp Dolphin. Just make sure to reserve your space at Camp Dolphin in advance as we almost didn't get a space.
Anyone on their way to the Swan and CL please tell Thabo that the Butlers miss him already. He was such a joy to start the morning with! I'm in withdrawal for chocolate croissants and sticky rolls.

Hope everyone who is leaving soon has a great vacation! :goodvibes

Glad you had a wonderful trip.

Can you tell me what they were offering in Club level at the Swan?

Thanks

In the mornings we had fresh fruit, pastries, bagels, toast and cereal as well as coffee, tea, juice, etc. In the evenings there were two hot hors d'oeuvres (if you got there early enough), cheese tray, fresh fruit, rolls and crackers, chips, and delicious cookies as well as sodas, coffee, etc. There was never any milk out in the evening but when I asked they would provide some to take to the room for when we got back from the parks. There were a couple mornings when certain family members slept in and Thabo was so helpful in getting the "runner" filled up with food and drink for everyone. Just remember to take your tray that the ice bucket and glasses sit on to carry everything. I also ran up late one evening as the lounge was getting ready to close and the gentlemen were very helpful in giving me what I needed to take back to the room.
Hope this helps. You'll definately love the convenience and Thabo of course! :)
