We didn't already have mugs. I have seen no sign of them for sale or otherwise.

Dolphin Fountain was great for lunch, but pricey. Kimonos sushi take out was nice, too, but not as great as last time. Might eat elsewhere later.

No plans for spa

The bed is INDEED heavenly, but we don't like feather pillows. Requested foam and they are much better. Room is very humid, so I feel hot at night when the AC slows down automatically, but it is actually a cool temp in here. Sheets are a tiny bit scratchy, but otherwise the mattress, comforter and such are fantastic.

BTW- corner king has dresser, desk, and sofa and 2 nightstands. No table and chairs except outside.

No light outside for night reading while DD sleeps.

No special touches by housekeeping. Very prompt, but minimal effect, just changing towels and glassware, and making bed.

Enjoy your stay BlueFairy! How's the weather?

Hi BlueFairy! Could you tell me a little more about the crib? Does it seem to be the same size as a standard crib? How long did you have to wait for it and where did they put it in the room? Thanks!

Please excuse me if this has already been asked, but I didn't want to have to read all 81 pages. How many can legally sleep in a standard room? I know most of the Disney Deluxes can sleep up to 5. We are planning to take my MIL on a trip with us and our 2 kids. Do they have a daybed or roll aways?

I read on here that you can take Mears or ME to Dolphin or the Yaht Club. How do I go about that? Do you call and make a ressie? Do you go straight to the magical express counter? I would'nt mind getting droped off at the Y-Club. Do they pick you up at the Yaht Club?

So is the room uncomfortable??? Can maintenance help?? Is there an override so the room isn't humid??? Hows the weather?? Is it warm enough to swim??
Are they having Dive-In movies yet??

You can take Mears to the Dolphin. You can also pay Mears to take Magical Express to the Yacht Club (or Beach Club or Boardwalk) and walk to the Swan/Dolphin. When I did this in December, I paid the one-way fare at the Mears desk at the airport and received my ticket, then proceeded to the waiting area for the ME bus. As far as I know there isn't a Magical Express counter.

What Nancy did is a good idea however if you have tons of luggage, you'll have to shlepp it over to the S/D yourself, or take a taxi. Just a thought. :cutie:

I can't recall which one of the resorts allows 5 in a room. You can call and ask, or I'm hoping someone will pipe in at let us both know. You can request a rollaway at a fee, I think it's $25 extra per night.

I intended to take Mears, but was told it would be about a 40-minute wait to go to the Dolphin. The wait for ME to the Yacht Club was only 10-15 minutes, so I opted for the shorter wait + a walk. I was traveling solo and just had one rolling suitcase, so the walk from the Yacht Club to the Dolphin wasn't bad. But as Blondie said, you wouldn't want to "schlepp" a lot of luggage that way!

That'd be The Dolphin :)

Thanks Madge, I knew someone here would have the answer! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if now that Disney is including refrigerators in all deluxe rooms, is Swan/Dolphin doing the same?

When I called last week they told me there was a charge for a fridge, 12 bucks a day or something close to it.

do they have an alamo rental car site there at the Dolphin?

I am thinking of renting a car from MCO or Sanford....to get to the Dolphin

dropping it off that day

and then picking up another car to get us BACK to the airport

has anyone done this to save $$$$???? If flying to sanford we could save a ton this way

TIA

We have been able to do this several times but only out of MCO, never have flown into Sanford. The rental pickup at MCO is very convenient and dropping it off at the Dolphin can be done right as you arrive.

I have had the best luck when there is not a holiday involved. It seems that rental car prices, like hotels I think, are higer arround holidays.

What room type do you recommend for a family of 5 at the Dolphin?
After a selfguided tour this weekend, the kids asked "Can we stay here?" This resort lokks like it has alot for kids to do, ohter than parks.

just booked for October :teeth:

as far as rooms for 5, I book a standard room and used to upgrade to Club Lounge with points. Since that isn't an option anymore, I'll probably ask for a SPG Gold upgrade to a room with a balcony.

so i won a trip to the swana nd dolphin and signed up for the starwoods
so what is the free upgrade when you check in ??

A free upgrade can be considered a standard view room to a resort/lake view room, and/or room with a balcony.

Can I buy tickets to the parks anywhere at the Dolphin? I was hoping to get them before we head out to the parks. Thanks :)
