New Epcot Food and Wine Premium Package for onsite guests only

Ugh!
I was considering this for my solo November trip.... Read through this whole thread - get to the end to see the Tuesday parties are canceled! ME will be picking me up at 7 am on Friday - I really don't want to be out late on Thursday night. Crud. Was really thinking that the VIP areas would be nice...

I'm really upset - had our email today about it. Cannot do the Thursdays we are there thanks to having things booked. Gutted.

Sounds like the upcharge event is not going over so well.

I would do it if they would let me book it at the lower price without the street party.... But I don't think they're offering that to anyone but those who already had it booked with a Tuesday party. I do remember standing at a garbage can several times so I had a place for my drink while I ate... Those VIP areas sound good - even without chairs. I'm going to be a little envious seeing people in there while I balance my food and drink on my head....

Can anyone confirm that the gifts (wine, chocolates, gift cards, etc) are per person not per room? Also, if you have 2 kids under the age if 8, can you take them to the VIP locations around world showcase? They would not have a package for themselves since they obviously won't be partaking in the other activities like wine or after hours party.

Looks like technically kids would have needed to buy the package as well because there are several non-alcoholic offering at the Food and Wine Festival as well as the after party and it does say only guests over 21 would be given the wine so I imagine there is an under 21 gift.

Food and wine events are always per person. There have been some rather upset parents over the years showing up at events with their kids and being told they can't attend without paying full price for the kids. So if you want to take the kids in the VIP area plan to pay

I can't imagine the VIP locations are very big, since there's not going to be a lot of them around World Showcase. I'm not even sure if there's going to be chairs. Maybe just stand-up tables. Anyway, Disney is setting up these VIP areas based on paid attendees. Disney is furnishing a certain square ft of space, a certain number of tables, and providing a certain number of servers to bring attendees food & drink, and keep the areas tidy. If attendees were to bring in 1, 2, or more nonpaying kids to the VIP area, space and available tables would disappear fast. Not to mention, the attendees with nonpaying kids would want the servers to fetch food & drink for their kids, too. That would slow down service for the rest of us paying customers.

Nope, I paid what some might consider a week's pay for me and DD to be treated like VIPs for a few hours within a few days at Epcot. So, nonpaying kids hanging around the VIP areas isn't going to be tolerated.

Do they have baby sitting at the resorts? I would love to do the party but it would be too late for my DD.

Some of the resorts have a kids club. Check Boardwalk or Beach/Yacht Club as those would be the closest to Epcot that may have it.

If you want it for your own room try Kids Nite Out. They are a well known in room baby sitting service in the area.

That I know of there was no children's price for the package.

I guess this would be a good thing for a kid free trip. I rather spend that kind of money for all of us to go on the wild Africa trek.

For those that have booked this, did you receive a confirmation?
I was able to book last night for next week and though it shows up on MDE as the premium package it just lists the party date. I did not know if I should have received a confirmation showing all of the package components?

My Late Night Live date and prepaid cost shows up in MDE dining reservations. When I click on Details, it says F&W Exp Premium Package, conf. number, and date and time of the Late Night Live party we're attending.

I don't remember receiving a confirmation. Perhaps you should print out the paragraph with the description of all the items that should be received. (Maybe I better do that, too.)

Has anyone checked in yet with this package? Can't wait to see the details!

I am not sure thus even started yet

I posted the 9 locations I saw during the soft opening over on the Food and Wine sticky in the restaurant board. They were having Disney cast members "test". There are no seats in the "preferred areas".

I had been thinking about adding this for my November trip, but after seeing the locations I am giving it a pass

We checked in yesterday and asked about the "in room amenity" and were told the package doesn't start till today so we should receive it sometime today to be able to access the premium areas tomorrow.

Looking forward to getting all of the details! We had our Late Night Live canceled, but we decided to keep the rest of the package.

Very curious to hear the details of how this works. We have it reserved for October. Also can't wait to hear some of the details of the Late Night event.
