New Epcot Food and Wine Premium Package for onsite guests only

I live literally 5 minutes from WDW. I wish I didn't have to stay in a resort to book this. :(

Can someone post the details of this? I can't open either link at work and I'm curious what it is.

Thanks!

I bet it is to control people who might over drink. If you don't stay at a WDW resort Ave you get wasted they have to either have orange county pd take you home, pay for a can or you get into your car and possibly hurt someone. You over drink abs stew a resort guest they can call you a bus or security cab drive you to the resort.

Also the gift is just easier on site.

I'm not sure if that is the real reason but it would help with the amount of alcohol I imagine will be consumed on this package.

I wish this started the week before! We like going for the soft opening to avoid some of the crowds but this sounds surprisingly neat. Almost makes me wish I hadn't already booked plane fare.

This sounds amazing! but $199 per person, but only one gift package per room makes it a bit costly, imho. At $199 per room, with one gift package seems much more reasonable...

The street party sounds fun (6 tickets, per package? per room?)
and you can get priority food from vendor? so you don't have to wait in lines? Intriguing, can't wait to hear about the reports! I imagine like most things there will be some kinks, but I'd love to try it!

The credential gives access to 10 VIP “Premium Package Areas” around World Showcase Promenade where you can order items from Marketplaces and have them delivered to you – no waiting in line. You can also bring your favorite marketplace treats into the Premium Package Areas and just relax. The package also includes one admission to Epcot Food & Wine Festival – Late Nights LIVE!, which you can attend on Tuesday or Thursday night.
Cost is $199 per guest, plus tax, plus Epcot admission.

I called Disney Dining by phone. They only had the vague description that we see about the F&W Premium Package for $199. I explained that it was questionable whether the in-room goodies were per room, or for each person in a room who bought the package. The CM sent a computer inquiry to somebody, who wrote back that there was one goody bag for each person who bought the package. In our case, this would be two goody bags of stuff in our one hotel room.

This makes sense, otherwise one person staying alone in a room gets the entire goodies, whereas two people staying in a room and both paying full price for the package, would have to share a single goody bag (one wine bottle, one F&W glass, one $50 gift card, one F&W MagicBand, one box of truffles, etc).

The system was down, so I couldn't make reservations. When I call again, I'll ask the same question, and see if I get the same answer.

So, has anyone participated in this yet to share if it was worth it? We were in Epcot last year for it and just really walked around and sampled food and wine but didn't do any of the events. My DH isn't a drinker so any wine based meals or events would be a lot of money for hiim but I would love to do more next time. And... can you be a guest of any DW resort?

This is brand new, so no one will experience it until the festival gets underway.

Meh. I wish this stuff had been announced earlier. We're going to the World in general for vacation, not specifically for F&W (though we chose our timeframe so we could do both F&W and MNSSHP). But with all the advance planning that's required to make sure you can do everything you want/eat everywhere you want, we'd now have to COMPLETELY rearrange our schedule to do events like this. This street party is only Tuesdays and Thursdays. Tuesday of our trip is MNSSHP and Thursday night we have dinner at Jiko at 8pm (our favorite meal from our last trip, hands down). I suppose we could possibly try for an earlier res there...:

Wow kind of a kick in the teeth to local APs? Although I guess the option is always there to book a room.

you think they should deliver their "in-room gift with wine" to a local APs house?

They could make you come collect it.

Disney seems to be doing a lot to discourage AP purchases lately....this is just another example.

I will be very curious to follow this thread as it leads into the actual festival itself. I saw it this morning on the Disney parks blog, and called to book it. Being brand new and just announced today, the cast member had NO idea what I was talking about and there was much confusion just trying to book it, but she eventually found it and booked it for us. We believed it to be $199 per person, and each person paying $199 for the package would receive the gift card, magic band, wine glass, etc. Throughout the day I've been following the comments in other online blogs and websites and have seen conflicting info. Some people are being told it is one gift bag per room (one $50 gift card, one bottle wine, etc) and others are being told it's one gift bag per person. It makes sense that it is for every person who buys the package. I know it's brand new and the CM's on the phone don't have every detail, but I am curious what people are being told when they book. The majority I've seen have been told it is per person, but there are just enough comments I've seen that say per room, that it's causing confusion.

As I posted earlier, I will be calling again and re-asking this question. I'm still not convinced, with a verbal confirmation, that each person in a room who buys the package gets their own goodies. I'd like to get an email or something from Disney's website that spells out the details. It's a big $$ difference between sharing a wine, a wine glass, a $50 gift card, etc., and each person signed up getting their own. I don't want to arrive at my room and be told, "sorry, you misunderstood."

An interesting extra, and possibly a good value if you're an onsite guest. This is what caught my eye, though:

Exclusive Premium Package Areas located around World Showcase promenade where guests can order items from select marketplace and have them delivered right to them without waiting in lines.

So with this package you basically get a FP for the food and drink lines. And someone to run and get it for you. I wonder if next year they'll add SB+(for a premium price) for the poor souls staying off site. And maybe toss in a few RR+ as well.

I like this and am definitely going to order it. Looking at all the other packages they have been offering lately this looks like one of the best deals.

Has it been confirmed that it's only from noon to 8pm Tuesday through Thursday?
