New Englanders

Boston, MA! Flying out of ---- you guessed it, Logan in 13 days on JetBlue! We also live about 5 minutes from the airport, not worth it to travel to Manchester or Little Rhodie.

We live in Vermont and are flying out of Logan because the tickets were cheap on Delta. $99 including taxes per ticket from BOS to TPA. We were planning to rent a car anyway so that worked for us. We will be gone for 9 days and need a place to park. Since we are leaving at 5pm we won't be able to utilize one of the hotel stay and park options. Where would you recommend parking. We would like to do it as inexpensively as possible.

Thanks
Deb

Don't know exactly where you live in Vermont, but if you're close to Hanover, NH, it's actually cheaper to take the Dartmouth Coach to Logan than paying for parking there. We parked for 10 days July 2005 at Logan and payed $190 in Central parking - ouch! This year we took Dartmouth Coach, and it was $45 round trip for adults and the kids under 14 rode free with a paying adult. You are limited to their schedules...but we thought it was worth it to save $100 plus the cost of gas. You can check out their website at www.dartmouthcoach.com. There may be other bus routes in your area on other carriers - check them out.

We actually live very near Hanover, NH. It looks like the bus would work to get there, but our return flight doesn't get to Logan until 8:08pm and the last bus is at 8:45 pm I don't think that we would make it. Thank you for the suggestion. Too bad a DISer that lives near logan doesn't want to make a little extra $$ buy renting a parking place to fellow disers.

I wish I was from Plymouth. :teeth: Actually, I would love to live there, but the commute would be too much for us. My parents live in Carver though, so we still get to Plymouth quite a bit.

I'm from Coventry, RI

Flying SW out of TF Green
9/15 - 9/21

I was pretty happy to get a Ding special - ended up paying $136 round trip.

I must remember to download Ding at home. Don't think they'd be too happy about my doing it here at work.

From the Northshore of Boston! Flying Song 10/4 Logan & back to Logan 10/12 again on Song. Staying CSR, hope everone has fun!

Holliston, MA (~30 miles west of Boston)

For our upcoming trip, December 4 - 9, and the ones we have taken in the past, we fly SW out of T.F.Green (PVD).

The reasons we Fly, SW out of Providence, is because they are the only ones that fly direct from Providence to Orlando.

The reasons we use T.F.Green, instead of Logon are because...
- We feel it is easier to get in and out of T.F.Green (although that may have changed with the new airport extension)
- It is less crowded.
- It is less intimidating to our small children (or maybe it is less intimidating to the parents of small children).
- It costs less to park there for a week.

I don't like that SW doesn't have assigned seating. Also, our children DS5 and DD4, will no longer get us Pre-Boarding, on our upcoming December trip on SW.
Given the growing popularity of T.F.Green, and the addition of low cost airlines at Logan, we are considering using Logan in the future.

If someone has recently made the switch from T.F.Green to Logan, I would be interested in your experiences.

Hey all missy here.My family and i are flying out of TF GREEN next week on southwest aug 19-24th.Then in december flying home to ssr on southwest yet again on dec.26-31st.Hope to see you all soon. missy and family

Hi guys, sorry I missed this till now. I haven't been on the plannng boards much yet, but am revving up now!

OK - two things I learned while reading all 13 pages:

#1 - We need to have a Western MA meet out at Tanglewood for the Jazz Fest or for Movie Night!!! Yes everyone, I am

born and raised in Pittsfield  Hi to nocnurse! and everyone else from Western MA, although I have to lead into #2 now

#2 - If you are NOT from somewhere delineated by the Berkshire mountains, you are NOT, and I repeat NOT from Western MA - us people right up on the NY boarder take this western mass thing seriously!!!!

OK - now to get serious:

I now live in Worcester, MA ( to rdsx28, 7Beasley, Jovidan, klwdisney, and last but certainly not least, my good friend goofy4tink!)

We are traveling in late April 2006 for a DCL cruise - 7 day Eastern
We just recently bookd one night into WDW prior to the cruise.

We will be flying down on SWA (most likely) out of PVD (TF Green)

TTFN all you New Englanders!!!

Wow Its a small world after all! I lived in Beverly , ,MA on the north shore for
most of my life until i moved to North Andover.

:rotfl2: :rotfl: I laughed out loud at the post explaining where Western Mass really is!! I live in the Pioneer Valley so I explain our bounderies all the time too. But it would be fun to have a Western MA get together...only 17 days till I leave from Bradley on Delta to WDW! We're staying at POP, our first time.
Have safe trips everyone... :earsboy: :Pinkbounc :earsboy: :Pinkbounc
Rima in WMass.

central maine, trying manchester for the first time this september 30th. have used bangor and portland jetport, but you just couldn't beat the price to fly out of NH this fall.

I hear you on the Western Ma. thing- I live in Amherst, and was told by some Northampton residents that Amherst is NOT considered Western Ma. because it's on the " other" side of the CT. river  . Rima- where in the Pioneer valley are you? I would be up for A western Ma DIS meet :)

Central Mass... Flying out of (& returning to) Manchester, NH via Southwest. December 8-18. MHT is easier & cheaper to get to for us than Logan, plus get the best deals from Southwest versus Song or Jet Blue. Also, more flight options on Southwest to MHT versus Song & Blue to Boston. I did look into Song & Blue, but found cheaper flights on SW. I don't mind the no seat assignments, as I'm always at the airport early, print my boarding pass ahead of time and just chill in the line. Always get the seats I like.

Am leaving 20 degrees & this. :cold:

To go to a place warmer and this!!
:earsgirl: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :cool1:
