What are you being quoted for home heating oil per gallon for next year? Just trying to work out my budget for next year

Here in CT I just locked in at $2.19 :earseek: I remember when .89 was high for oil. We are on a budget plan so I have to lock in in July.

Deanna :bored:

most companies here are only doing a lock in price if you pre-buy. If you budget plan, they're going to charge cash price on day of delivery.

OR- I did find a company to lock in budget for 2.44 a gallon

I'm at $1.94 here in MA. It's an automatic plan where they come when they think we need oil.

We moved in the end of May to this home.

I live on Long Island and am on the budget plan, which was raised $50 per month this year! We are locked in at $239! Right now their price is $259/gallon!

No clue how much this year but I pay @ $450 a month for a 1500 Square foot house. That's to keep us at 68 degrees.

Central MA here and our oil guy is not sending out contracts and lock in rates until the end of August because of the uncertainty of prices! Last year I think we got 1.69 and DH was not going to do it...he listened to me though, lol! :rotfl:

I just did my pre-buy in NH yesterday to lock in at 1.899 - more than I wanted to pay, but less than cash prices right now, so I didn't want to risk it when the cold weather gets here.

We're in NH. The prices in our area are 2.149 to 2.159/gal. We have a small 1500 ft cape. We use an average of 650-670 gallons per year.

My husband and I decided that since we have 37 acres of re-newable fuel that we would by a wood burning boiler and cut our wood for fuel.

The good thing about these boilers is that they sit in a little house outside. You don't have to worry about chimney fires and bugs/spiders in the house from the wood.

I did buy $500. worth of oil so that while we are on vacation our oil boiler can kick in to heat the house. We will probably burn oil during the summer as well.

I'm sick of the rising cost of gas/oil etc. I too remember a few years ago when it was .89 gal and complaining about it!

Stacie, where in NH are you? We are on the NH/MA border... last year I think we locked in around 1.65 which I thought was TERRIBLE... someone we know just locked in for around 2.05... YIKES! It's going to be an expensive year... we paid ~ 750.00 a month last year :(

I am jealous of some of these prices! We're just south of Worcester (using pioneer oil) and do pre-pay - last year was $1.59, this year is $2.39!!!! For a $75.00 fee this year they will cap up at $2.39 or if the price is lower on delivery day give us the lower price.

Before I sign maybe I need to shop around. I'm thinking we need to get everyone warm pj's and flannel sheets this year - this is cutting into next May's vacation fund!!!

Here in NH I think we locked in (pre buy) at roughly $2 a gallon.

My contract isn't over with my current oil company till 8/4 and they won't give me any rates until after that day.

I called around to other companies and they all are at $2.29/gallon this week.

Last year I locked in at $154.9/gallon . . .and I thought that was bad. :sad2:

Hi, I live in central mass and was just checking oil prices today. I'm not sure if you belong to BJ's Wholesale club or not but they offer oil through priceenergy.com. I used them last year and their prices were pretty good. Today it was 1.97 a gallon. You cannot lock in you can order each delivery on line the minimum amount is 150 gallons.Bj's has a pamplet in the stores that you can check it out. Good Luck!

Here in central vermont on the NH border the best we could do is 2.14/gallon. That was on Monday and we had to work to get that rate. last year we paid 1.43/gallon. We're going to try to keep the heat lower as we use almost 1500 gallons and our house is only 5 years old, so it's pretty efficient. I'm guessing that it will cost us close to $1000 more than last year. Gas prices are 2.34 - 2.39/ gallon now.

Chrislgill - sorry I haven't checked the thread in a couple days so I'm just now seeing your question - I'm in the Laconia, NH, looks like I got a pretty good price (considering the others that are posted!).
