New England Meet - THIS COMING WEEKEND - 9/26!!

Ok so here is the scoop on Fire and Ice

I suggest going to the Harvard Square location which is just a few steps off the red line. (South Station is also on the Red Line) They are open for Lunch and Dinner from 11:30am – 10:00pm. They have a private room that holds up to 120 people we can reserve and including an all you can eat buffet, tax and gratuity Lunch is $14/ Kids are $10, Dinner is $21.25/ Kids under 12 are $12.50 and under 6 are $10. Drinks and Desert are not included in this price. They serve lunch until 4:00 pm so we can use that to decide timing. I have been for both lunch and dinner and the buffets are the same no matter which one we pick so I would say lets so lunch but I will totally go for what ever you guys choose.

As for contacting the train people if someone wants to get in touch with the Disneyland corspondents maybe they can give us some insight.

My wife and I would love to go BUT...

That day would be my daughters first birthday party and we're closing on a house in Pawtucket, RI aug 27 so we will have all of sept to get the contractors in there and paint and move BUT...

I have a wedding in Sturbridge on the 12th and a wedding on the 19th so I'm pretty booked and already feel tired just thinking about it.

We really wanted to go see the Xmas Carol Train that day and I think the Phantom Gourmet food fest is that day, too. So that would have been a great day to go with the added DIS meet.
Congrats on the new house- I am in Riverside RI- Welcome to the Ocean State

Sounds interesting...it looks like I won't be on call that weekend (we lost a person last week so the schedule is iffy) and we were planning on going to see the train anyways...

Pencil us in for Brian and Tracey, and kids Ashleigh and Elizabeth...and my in-laws may come as well.

By then, George and I can trash-talk football too... :)

Tom & I are planning to attend. Has anyone thought of trying to set up a "group" tour of the train maybe before it opens or after closing? When I was listening to the Podcast review they had a special viewing... Does anyone have any connections that could point us towards a contact with the train tour? I would be willing to try and set it up if given a name & number to call...

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Erika

I just sent a PM asking for details.

Nice job Tara! I sent a PM about a possible contact.

We'll be there: Scott, Pam, and Otto (2). Fire and Ice sound like a great idea.

We are hoping to go but I can't give an answer until the times are set for eating and the train. Depending on time we may only be able to do one or the other. :goodvibes

I was hoping to be able to go but my wife and I are flying out that morning to Disney World.

I would love to come, but I can't give a definite answer until early September. Is that okay? It would be me, DH, and DD (2 years old).

This sounds like a blast and I would LOVE to do this (especially since it falls ON my birthday!) but I will be in WDW celebrating my 29th.

Can't wait to see photos!

Okay..... In mind picture tounge sticking out :cutie: (raspberry)

:lmao: JK have a great time :goodvibes

Would love to meet up with everyone, but Saturday's are always tough with the family work schedule... :( Thought it was a Sunday initially and was thinking of how I could get my wife to buy into it, but then realized it was Sat. DOH!

Would have been a good chance to reconnect as I've been a bad DIS'r over the past few months...rarely posting...skipping podcasts....Boooooooo!

Hope you guys have a great time! I'll be up for the Sox game on Sept. 16th...will have to get my fill of Boston then I suppose...

I'd love to be there - just let me know date, place & time. If there is any help I can give organizing let me know too.

Ok... All updated... Let me know if I missed anyone or if any info is incorrect!!

I'm late in posting an update, Nancy (YellowMickeyPonchos) did respond immediately to my PM. Thank you, Nancy.

Sounds like DIS "media credentials" allowed access in the form of a personalized tour. Nancy suggested sending an email to the address on the Christmas Carol tour website. I'll send an email regarding a possible group tour when I get home.

Actually, I just hadn't had a chance to come back on. You can move me and DH to definite. My DD is a maybe (though likely). Can't wait!

this is more of an FYI- the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure is at the World Trade Center the morning of September 26th (8- 11). I am trying to figure out where the race route is going but if we do the morning it will just allow for people to plan accordingly their commute into Boston.
