New England Meet - THIS COMING WEEKEND - 9/26!!

Well everyone seemed to like this idea and the date was tied with the most aviable. Is there something you would like to change?

No change, I just couldn't find the post with the information on when and where.:) I did see the most recent post with the info. Thanks!!!

Just me, and yes, I'm coming. Brace yourselves. And I don't even mind, since it's in South Station, and I don't have to DRIVE there!

Mindy - thanks for posting this on Facebook - that's what brought me here!

We're in! It will be me, and my 2 daughters: Karen, 8 and Brynn 5.

Looking forward to seeing some of you again, and meeting others for the first time!

Sounds like a fun time :) I have plans already that weekend but would have loved to come! Maybe next year. I am out in Western Mass, BUT just moved out here last year from Wareham (South Shore) and DH is from Plymouth, so pretty familiar with that part of Mass as well :)

Mindy....I would pick you up, no need to drive places where you're not comfortable!

Jack(10) and I (Kim) will be there, and possibly my DD7. That all depends on how well she and Jack are getting along that day:rotfl:

My wife and I would love to go BUT...

That day would be my daughters first birthday party and we're closing on a house in Pawtucket, RI aug 27 so we will have all of sept to get the contractors in there and paint and move BUT...

I have a wedding in Sturbridge on the 12th and a wedding on the 19th so I'm pretty booked and already feel tired just thinking about it.

We really wanted to go see the Xmas Carol Train that day and I think the Phantom Gourmet food fest is that day, too. So that would have been a great day to go with the added DIS meet.

This could be a definite possibility! I am going to run this by DH and DD when I get home to see if anyone would like to join me. I also have a couple of Disboard friends on Facebook. I will mention this to them. I have to admit, I can be a bit on the shy / quiet side and get a little bit worried that I will go and then just blend in with the scenery.

Does anyone know of any teenagers that will be there? My DD is 14 and would probably love to meet some kids around her age.

Right now it will be myself (Kim) as a definite. I need to check with my husband if he wants to come with our DD (4). I will find out tonight.

also- the Tour on Sat is opened from 9-7. (sorry posted sun time originally)

So what is pricing at Fire & Ice like? I can't find any prices anywhere (on their website). If we do F&I, looks like the train will we first since F&I does not open until 4PM.

Sounds like we need to discuss times. ::yes::

Don't worry about about the shy/quiet part. You will be leading the singing of "It's a Small World" at South Station. :cool1: It might be financially rewarding as well.

I'll be sure to bring a hat to collect any coins that are thrown my way. Can I maybe borrow one of your lamp shades?? :rotfl:

The last time I went was in Providence a couple of months ago. It was a flat price of roughly $18 a person for dinner and then drinks were extra.

I have new shades ... those have been retired. If you wore one in Boston nobody would notice.

Jeff & Val will be there.

Tom & I are planning to attend. Has anyone thought of trying to set up a "group" tour of the train maybe before it opens or after closing? When I was listening to the Podcast review they had a special viewing... Does anyone have any connections that could point us towards a contact with the train tour? I would be willing to try and set it up if given a name & number to call...

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Erika

I am a great big MAYBE! :lmao: Sorry, but I won't know for sure until the middle of August. I am guessing it would just be me--probably leave Jeff and the kids home! :rotfl2:
