New EA with "old" ressie

Back in beginning of March when the rates were nice and low I made ressies for our 11 day June trip with National EA reserving Full Size car. Got a really super rate of $197 incl all taxes & fees with DC contract and $20 off coupon. Rates have been a lot higher since their conversion to the new EA.

Has anyone used their pre-EA changeover ressie (pre - March 15) where you have reserved a full size at MCO with EA and have gone recently? If there were no full sizes on the EA (as they state there probably will not be anymore) did they allow you to go to the Emerald Reserve Full Size row and pick a car? Or did you have to go to the counter after all?

Thanks.

Before the change you were allowed to go to the full size aisle if you had a full size reservation if you didn't like anything on the EA, so I don't see why you couldn't now. I have a reservation for May 9, full size EA (pre 3/15), I expect my reservation to be as I reserved it - EA or full size. I'll post how it turns out.

I'm another who got the GREAT low rates before March 15 and booked a Full size EA for $111. total!!!

I plan on heading to the EA and if there's nothing good, head over to my reserved Full size aisle.

They only thing they can possibly do now is say that if you have a full size reserved, you are NOT entitled to head to the EA because of the recent changes but only head to the Full size aisle; that only Intermediate reservations (EA) are allowed to pick from the EA. But I highly doubt they will stop those of us with Full size (EA) reservations from picking something from the EA if we so choose.

We'll see!

I reserved a full size car EA for 9 days in June at $109. Called National about the changeover to ER. Was told I would be able to go to full size reserved and select a car. But if I had reserved an intermediate EA, I would have had to gone to EA and select from there.

They can't seem to get their story straight at National. When I called about my full size EA reservation, I was told to go to the Emerald Reserve Aisle. Other people have been told to go to the full size aisle. I'm going to call the day before I leave and see what the current process is!

I'm another one with a pre March 15 ressie for a full size on the EA. Hopefully we can just go to the full size aisle and get our car!

The way I understand it is if your reservation states "Emerald Reserve" which is the new name for "Emerald Choice" you head to the aisle of whatever size you reserved. So if you reserved a full size, you head to the full size aisle. If you reserved a mini-van, head to the mini-van aisle. Nothing's changed in that reagard except the name of this service.

BUT if you reserved an Intermediate, you have "Emerald Aisle" service which means you can check out the Emerald Aisle for cars OR head to the Intermediate aisle, whichever you choose.

The issue now (with these new changes since March 15) is for those of us who have a Full size reserved with Emerald Aisle service. Are we allowed to check out the EA and if we like something take it? I think so. My reservation states I can head to the EA or Full size isle and that is what I intend to do. There probably won't be anything besides Intermediates on the EA (that's what National is saying) but it's worth checking just in case there's an overflow of a certain kind of car, then they would be in the EA as a bonus for those who reserved "Emerald Aisle" service.

I do have an EA reservation for a full sized car. I was told to go to the ER aisle since there won't be any full size on the EA. My point was that different people are getting different information about what to do with these full size reservations.
