New DVC Ticket Deal

fyi, you do not pick up paper tickets. you receive a number that you can link to (anybody's) MDE and they will be associated with the appropriate magic band.

as I have stated several times, it's easy enough to contact MS (chat or call) and get the facts straight as to confirmation of what I have posted.
I cannot imagine anybody calling MS & make the transaction without 1st verifying all the details for themselves.

I think it's great to be able to help our guests enjoy the parks at a discount.:). Many of us have adult children still living at home who don't visit as often as the parents & who can greatly benefit from this.

that said I do hope for another AP offer next year;).

I have learned over the years since vacationing with Disney and being a DVC owner is that Disney training and implementing new programs. policies or discounts is not one of their strengths.

You can ask 2 different CM's a question and get 2 different answers. Disney tries to force correct policy using system software but often things slip through.

Most have learned that if you don't like the answer given, ask someone else until you get the answer you want. :goodvibes

Until someone actually enters the park without first activating the discounted ticket at Guest Services, there's no "confirmation."

apparently, not in your mind...I'm 'good' since I've asked MS the basic questions three times and gotten the same answers each time.

Take heart, for those that feel MS is providing erroneous information when they call (or even for those who haven't bothered to chat or call to verify the information & are just naysaying:rolleyes:), I'm sure a DVC'er will take advantage of the offer soon. Hopefully, they will post back and verify that the these tickets don't have to be activated for those with lingering doubts.

Better to plan for the worst and hope for the best. Since the CM's at DVC don't work in Guest Services there can be a disconnect. We had problems with our premium AP's, took a manager at GS to get us our AP's.

Disney processes millions of guests annually, DVC and their deals are a very small percentage of those transactions and often CM's are not up to speed with DVC deals.

we had issue with trying to activate our DVC PAP vouchers last summer too. Instead of activating DH's & mine, they activated my PAP and an un-activated AP voucher I had collecting dust in the system for DH:scratchin. Only way we figured it out was when we tried to enter Disney Quest and his pass didn't work. It took them days to figure it out, but did extend our APs for the same amount of time and gave us FPs for our trouble.

Situations have happened at Disney several times over the years for us but they (DVC or Disney parks) have always made it right by us:).

What people don't seem to be grasping is the concept of this ticket being assigned directly to the MDE account of the person utilizing it. There is no ticket media associated with these tickets, it's all electronic attached to magic bands.

I have used the FP+ system three times and not had any issues at the gate as to admittance, yet I do bring my tickets on my person as well as wearing my magic band jik. Unfortunately, other than the confirmation #/ticket number there is no such back up 'hard copy' for these tickets.

Funny you should mention Disney Quest, we couldn't use our AP's there either. They called for a manager who used a tablet to fix our account, didn't have any issues after that.

Hope that someone can be kind enough to post here that uses this 4 Day DVC
ticket offer! :)
THANKS IN ADVANCE!:thumbsup2

They already did one this year, from February to April. Since this one runs to May 2015, I wouldn't count on another one before then.

I meant early next year. Sorry

We got the PAP deal two years ago and we are planning on going next summer. I really would be good if they did it again.

Ok so what some CM said is I could purchase these 4 day tickets for my son and grandkids that will be staying with me at Disney next Spring?

I know this ticket deal is very specific, but works for me.

We'll be using it.

It works for us too! Looking forward to hearing from a member who has used it.

It should work the exact same as a DVC AP. I know for those they give you a code you can register on MDE for FP+. I did this last year but also picked up the AP RFID ticket (card) before entering, so don't know if you have to pick up your physical RFID ticket (card) at GS or not. This year, we renewed AP (got new code), so will try entering w/o picking up physical AP and see what happens -- anyone know? I assume it's the same for non-AP DVC tickets (or MYW tickets for that matter). I would assume if it's linked on MDE, it's good, but who knows with Disney. Technology and process are not their forte :) Case and point, while a physical card shouldn't be needed if you have a MB, Disney still makes you carry a AP card in addition to your MB for AP discounts and free parking -- seems much easier to counterfeit a physical card (which they don't scan) than to just scan your MB and verify you are AP, but like I say, this is Disney we're talking about.

I had spoken with chat the other day and was told if one was to buy this 4 day ticket then upgraded to an AP the additional cost would be roughly 300 dollars

We are going in Dec for 8 days but don't have tickets yet, and I had thought perhaps it was a chance to get an AP even cheaper, but it won't work. At least that's what I was told.

So what it sounds like is its only benefit if you need more than 4 days (skipping the different park issue for this moment) and expect you'll need/want an AP, is you get to pay $200 now and $300 later when you upgrade there. What a seriously limited ticket! Yuck.:rolleyes2

Ah, Bill, you can't use APs at Disney Quest. But you can use PAPs. ;)

...and you better not want FP+ for more than 4 days on that trip.

There is a thread with Q&A on the dvc website about this deal. It pretty much answers all of these questions. We have no need for this deal, but if we took friends and family for a one time short trip this would work.

We are traveling in January with sons (18 and 21) and each is bringing a friend. Since we will be there for five full days, this sounds like a great deal for the kids. I think a length of stay hopper was going to run them over $350 each. I don't think they will care if they can hop or not. Especially since it's January at the parks aren't open late anyway.

I have only two days left on my no exp. hopper and wasn't looking forward to having to shell out for another 10 day no exp ticket. I might just hold on to my two days and purchase one of these tickets for myself. :)
