Health share plan?

Yes, he attends a private college and they will have a clinic he can use with his fees, but actual health insurance is reserved for only foreign students and is $15k per year (that was last year's price so who knows now~!). So that is not an option.

My other son attends a public college and has more options, but he is only 21 so he is still on our insurance.
$15k a year? That is way too high for what is essentially a group health insurance plan. My daughter got Obama care coverage with no subsidy for $7,200 a year.

I am just relaying information, you are arguing with the wrong person.

they can charge that to international students b/c they are ineligable to both Obama care plans and plans available on each state's insurance marketplaces.

The cheapest plan is $425 for each of them. No subsidies. they don't qualify and are there any anymore? According to the application we filled out and the response we got, the cheapest is $425, which is why I am looking into alternatives.

You are looking at a website I presume, and don't have first hand knowledge? I have read through several of them, I am asking for any personal experiences or recommendations based on firsthand knowledge.
I don't know much about the plans your asking about . My doctor recommended one to me when I mentioned i was having issues once. But I did happen to see a thread on another site about the high prices for ACA options on the marketplace. Someone there said that if you called the insurance companies directly instead of going through the marketplace online, you could get much cheaper premiums and lower deductibles. So you may want to call some places.

Interesting.

We called Aetna and they referred us to Cobra. We did contact Cobra and they gave us a quote of over $900/mo. We thought that was all we could get.

So much misinformation in this thread. My company is the leading research association for the financial services industry. Please speak with a professional.
