New DVC Ticket Deal

Spoke with 2 different people from Ms, questioned thoroughly before purchasing and was told that this ticket once entered in MDE would be automatically activated to the magic bands. Was told in this case NO NEED to do anything further like going to Guest Relations at the first park of use UNLESS you want a hard ticket.

On the other hand, if you are PURCHASING this as a gift, IF the person you are giving this to use DOES NOT have magic bands, if for example staying off site, THEN the member purchasing the tickets, on the confirmation, must go to Guest Relations, show membership card and proper identification and they will give the other people that you have purchased sort of a credit card to use as a ticket....:confused3

Doesn't apply to us as we just purchased for DS and I who are members who will have magic band staying at DVC. Was originally contemplating purchasing for others who during our trip will be staying off site but I THOUGHT IT WAS TOO RISKY. If for some reason, our trip is CANCELLED for unforeseen reasons, they are OUT OF LUCK without tickets and Fastpasses! I didn't even mention it to the people we are traveling with because I can't take that responsibility..Never know when a trip must be cancelled! Again, if the person you are purchasing DOES NOT have a magic band from a previous on site visit, then the MEMBER in this case must go to GUEST RELATIONS upon first use. Again, this was repeated to me TWICE by two different MS reps!:)

Here is the conversation I had with the DVC online chat (I am D and Kevin is the DVC rep). I am not quite sure about all of this yet. Trying to figure out the best option. So I am still considering.

One moment while we route your chat to a Disney Vacation Club Cast Member.

You are now chatting with Kevin.

Kevin: Welcome Home! How may I assist you today?

D: Hi! I had a question about the new 4 day 4 park ticket. Can you visit 2 parks in 1 day...not repeating them another day of course.

D: We will only be at WDW for 2 days after our Disney Cruise, so was wondering if we could use these tickets but visit two parks a day for two days.

Kevin: Thank you D, I can definitely answer that question for you regarding the 4 Day Promotional ticket offer.

Kevin: If you do decide to purchase the promotional offer and want to visit two different theme parks on the same day, each theme park visit will count and a visit, so you'd have two days left.

D: So I could use the tickets and go to Epcot and the Studios one day and the next day go to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom? Using up all 4 visit in two days?

Kevin: Yes, that's correct.

D: Also, we have guests staying in our DVC room who are not family members (friends of my daughters). Can I buy these tickets for them as well if they are on my reservation?

Kevin: You can purchase up to a total of 8 tickets per Member household. The Guests don't have to be staying at the same address as you, but you do have to make the purchase and be present at Guest Relations to redeem it since you are the Member.

D: Ok and one last question. On the day that I use two visit (say to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom), can I go in and out of those two parks in that day? Like if I go to Magic Kingdom in the morning, then over to Animal Kingdom for the afternoon, can I return to Magic Kingdom that night for the firework?

Kevin: Great question! Let me check on that for you.

D: OK thanks

Kevin: Thank you for waiting. I'll be with you in just a moment.

D: OK

Kevin: Thanks for your patience. So for example, if you visit the Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park in the morning and then go to the Magic Kingdom later in the day, you can't go back to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park because that'll be park hopping, and the promotional ticket isn't a park hopper.

D: Oh ok. Thank you for checking.

I have a strange question, sorry want to make sure 100% before purchasing....for our trip coming up in March, we are not staying at a DVC resort because we want to save our points for 2016, therefore we have a CRO booking at a moderate resort. Even though we aren't staying at a DVC resort but are still DVC members, could I still purchase the 4-Day/4-Park tickets for my DDs and I? Again sorry for the odd question and thank you to anyone who can answer my question :goodvibes.

Yes. Once you put in the confirmation number given to you by MS, since you are staying at a moderate on site, you should be able to book FP 60 days in advance as long as your resort reservation is linked in your MDE...It is my understanding, that since you will be getting magicbands, there is no need for you as the member to physically go to Guest Relations in the first use park on the first day..automatically "linked" to magicbands!

ENJOY!:thumbsup2:cool1:

Please, for the sake of your sanity, do not rely on this information when planning your trip. No ticket in the past 25+ years has worked like described here, and I would not expect this to be an exception. This information is most like incorrect, and even if you print it out and carry it with you, you will not be able to argue your way in to a second park on the same day.

Okay, this is what I posted yesterday after asking the question on the MS website:
So, here's the response I got from the MS website regarding whether or not you have to pick up these tickets (I was logged-in to DH's acct., so it shows his name):

After purchasing these tickets and linking them to my MDE account for Magic Bands and Fast Passes, will I still need to pick up the tickets at Will Call?

Hi Steve! When you purchase these tickets, you will receive a Will Call number for your use in your vacation planning. You will need to pick up the tickets once you arrive to Walt Disney World at Will Call and show your Member I.D.

Side note: I just noticed it says member since 2014, which is incorrect. Should be 2013. Hmmm...

So, according to this answer, you receive a confirmation number that you can use for MDE for Fast Passes, but you still have to pick up the tickets from Will Call at the park.

Thank you so much for the information, I wasn't sure if we had to have a DVC reservation to use this ticket or not....I didn't see it printed but then again, I tend to miss the small print. That is why I turn to you guys on the DIS :goodvibes.

Well I think we have decided on 2 day park hoppers instead. But I just wanted to pass on what I was told in the online chat. Seems like they should just post the restrictions so there is no confusion. If we were going for a week I would get these. But since we are only going to be there two days, we will just spend the extra for the hoppers.

I will go and pick up the tickets at GS either way then, it's better to be safe then sorry :goodvibes. Can we pick them up at a GS location outside any one of the 4 parks? We are going to Animal Kingdom on our arrival day, so could I just show them my member ID there, or do I have to go to a specific place to pick them up?

I've picked up MVMCP tickets at DAK GS, so i would think any GS can print any will call ticket.

The Guest service locations that will definitely be able to handle your pick up are at the gates to the 4 theme parks and the one additional full service location in Downtown Disney.

The waterpark booths are also equipped to handle most ticket issues, though they don't like to advertise this, so don't count on it.

The Guest services locations within the hotels, also known as the concierge desk, typically cannot handle anything beyond the basic pass purchase and upgrade (to add days, convert to park hopper etc.) It used to be they didn't handle APs either - but this may have changed. Not sure if it's a training issue or perhaps access to specific areas of the software. However, it never hurts to ask if you're passing by as you check in.

For us, no BIGGIE...If I do have to go to MS at first park entry, fine! Hoping though that I was given the correct info and we don't have to physically go to Guest Services on your first day...Just a pain!:worried:

My issue is a BIGGER ONE.. By now, this DVC 4 day ticket has been "out there" at least a week, maybe 2! There should be ONE POLICY that is communicated properly to members by all MS reps! Doesn't mean much to me having a written response from a chat session. In the last year, found a MS rep to be totally incorrect in a chat session.. Yes, subsequent to the inaccurate information given in a written chat session brought the problem to Member Satisfaction team. The Member Satisfaction did research the written chat session and the information given to me was INCORRECT!:furious:

Has ANYONE recently used the 4 day DVC ticket??????
Did you have to go to Guest Relations first or were they automatically "linked' to you MagicBand as I was told?

TIA!:)

They are in MDE, no probem with that...
There seems to be much debate though whether you have to go GUEST RELATIONS first before using them for the first time. I was told NO by MS and I am assuming that once they are linked that they are like ANY OTHER TICKET using a Magic Band...:) That is the information given to me by MS twice!

If they are the only ticket in your account, I would just try to enter the park. If you can't get in, then go to guest relations unless you have the extra time to check before you go to a park.

Not worth worrying about or wasting time on IMO.

The only consistent thing at Disney is the lack of consistency. :goodvibes

It was great when the Dis had Guest Services CM Cheshire Figment posting how tickets and ticketing processes actually worked.

But he dropped offline last Jan, so we are only stuck with a ticketing FAQ from 2013

That's a shame, I hope he's okay. He helped so many people understand the compicated systems Disney uses and why things are the way they are.

Problem with that is if a DVC member bought the tickets for guests and is not traveling with the guests, only the ticket purchaser will be able to go to Guest Services. So, it' worth exactly $400 per ticket to worry about, so definitely "worth" it. That said, I bought these tickets myself, and am going to GS in person to ask if there is anything I need to "pick up" or if they need "activated" in any way and will report back. Unfortunately I'm not using them until March so can't confirm if they will actually work. Hopefully someone here can test this out here shortly.

I will be using these tickets in a week. I plan to pick up the hard tickets. I think its always recommended to have the hard ticket with you in case your band does not work properly. I would much rather have them incase there's an issue, although I don't expect I will need them.

I had no trouble linking them to my magic band and no trouble making FP+ reservations. A week away from my trip and I was able to secure everything with decent times except TSM and the Mine train. Oh yeah - and Elsa and Anna, which I really don't care about.

I was going to head over to Universal originally, but this was clearly a deal so I caved and bought it. Putting Universal on hold yet again.

It's good to know they can be used for people outside your family.
