New DVC Survey

No, mine were very different 🤣 I recently condensed my four use years into two use years so I had a handful of resale transactions. The beginning of the survey acknowledged those transactions (a tad big brother creepy) and then the whole survey was asking me about my resale experience. What I look for in a resale broker … why I buy resale over direct 🤣 … do I have any plans in the near future to buy direct. Do I care about the direct perks. How many times did I use each contract before I sold it. How recently did I stay on the contracts I sold. It kind of felt like a fishing expedition, so I just wrote look at the use years, there’s nothing nefarious going on here.
Ahhh very interesting! I was going to ask if you had a lot of reservations with a different lead guest to get that question, but it seems like it was a different survey. Very specific questions! I was creeped out that my survey knew how many years I had been a member. Yours is even creepier!

@PolyRob Thank you for taking the time to share this.

I take it as a positive that they are asking these questions.

If I could change anything it would be to increase the refresh cadence & make the furniture more comfortable instead of just being extra sleeping surfaces.
increase the frequency and also increase the amount of items that are refreshed... if there can be glass doors on the tubs on Disney Cruise Ships and at Riviera that are clear and crisp, surely we can put those in other resorts when they are being rehabbed instead of shower curtains for example...

My other issue is the points are built around studios, a studio membership for a week or two is very affordable... the rest of the timeshare industry builds around 2 bedrooms... and I wish that was done a little more with Disney... most of the recent resorts require a sky high number of points for a week in a 2 bedroom...

Well, when DVC was first on sale, the minimum purchase for a new member was 230 points, which per the marketing video that’s around here somewhere, was enough for a 2BR for a week for a family vacation plus a studio for a couple’s trip at another time of year. So when it began, DVC was built around 2BR; it just didn’t stay that way.

My survey came today, did anyone else get this question?
Did you have a lot of reservation with different names on them? It seems like it would be simple for them to see the names on the reservations. If they were all different, I could see why they would ask, even though, like you said, it's also obvious that you lowered your use years.

The way both you and @PolyRob describe it, it sounds like the entire survey was created for you and only you. 🤔

Give 'em hell.

JK.. I have no complaints other than I had to make a last minute booking for this week and y'all swore Saratoga, Animal Kingdom, and Old Key West were always available. LIARS! lol
What’s a last minute booking to you?

Last year I made a reservation for a studio at BLT 14 days out. Booked like 5 or 6 nights. That’s was for end of October

No, but I did sell two contracts and bought two contracts all within a few weeks period. I can understand how it might have triggered the computer to flag it as unusual. In the surface it may have looked like a strip and flip, but if they look closer they will see that I let go of March and April and the new ones are February and December like the rest of my contacts. I think you need to open the .pdf file and look at the contract to see the use years.

...which was (and mostly still is) the basic value proposition of most timeshares.

Unsurprisingly, OKW's design is the most similar to e.g. the Marriotts of the same vintage. DVD quickly realized that their buyers did not care that much about space, and that gave birth to DVC 2.0 layouts (BCV, BRV, BWV, and SSR) which I generally do not love.
