I'm sure that a thread or threads like this have been started in the past but I'm curious what DVC perks you might be interested in seeing offered...

One that I would like is the ability to purchase the Epcot After 4 Pass and the Water Park After 2 Pass... both are Florida resident annual passes... I'd especially love the Epcot After 4 pass since the gf and I LOVE visiting Epcot...

What are your 'wish list' items?

I think a discount on all park ticket media, not just APs, would be a nice perk...though I wouldn't expect it to be as substantial discount as the AP discount. Maybe 10% like they used to offer on Length of Stay passes. But don't mess with the AP discount, please!!!!

I agree with Chuck. A discount on tickets would be nice but I love my AP discount!

This is not so much a perk as an operational improvement, but I'd sure love to be able to check availability and book online.

Agree to discount on tickets and keeping our AP discount! Since we are dreaming a little, how about giving us a card that is good for 20% (or more!) off our purchases anywhere with Disney? Use it for dining or shopping anywhere, not just selected restaurants or stores? I know there are several different discounts and plans and they all seem to only go so far. Let's have one that covers everything with no restrictions.

2 daily FP's you can schedule a day (or more) in advance at any available attraction/time.

Live FP distribution times listed on the TV in the rooms.

World of Disney discount. I've contacted MS several times pushing this. No luck yet.

I, too, would like to see a discount for Park Tickets for the people that are staying in the DVC room you have booked. A break in the price would be nice for the people that we bring to Disney (we are AP holders).

A discount on all Disney park tickets would be nice. Most people I talk to about DVC can't believe they don't offer the members a discount on the park tickets in general. Or as another member posted, being able to purchase the Epcot after 4 pass would be great (I would love this).

We get a better discount on regular Disney passes through Mousesavers or AAA.

There are two ways of looking at this question.

First are benefits that Disney bestows on us just because they like us. In that variety, I think many folks aim too small. Why not hope for free admission rather than admission discounts? :confused3 Why not a 50% merchandise discount rather than a 10% discount? :confused3

Second are benefits paid for from our annual fees. In that variety, I'd rather have no new benefits, and I'd like to re-examine many of the existing ones, since I'd rather pay for these things as I use them rather than pile them all into the fee, artificially inflating it.

i think that these have all been mentioned by one poster or another already - but here would be my votes...
1. discount on MYW tix (i agree with all who think it's unbelievable that DVC doesn't get this already...)
2. DVC fast passes - members should be entitled to at least one (b/w 1-3?) FP's per reserved day. why not link it up to dvcmembers.com? we could log on and either (a) print universal fast passes for each reserved day from home - good for any park/attraction, or even (b) choose a park and print an attraction-specific FP ahead of time.
3. dining discount - whether a modification to the existing DDE or not...i think, at the very least, DVC members should have the same opportunity to get the DDE card w/o first purchasing an AP. and while we're at it - why even have to BUY the DDE card? DVC members should get some dining discount automatically. show your member card, get a discount...what's wrong with that?!

We already get an automatic discount -- 10% at most WDW restaurants, just by showing out blue card.

my bad, then....

why only 10%, though? why not the 20% that anyone who has an AP and a DDE card can get? my guess is that disney is making more than the $60 or $65 they're currently charging for DDE cards off of each DVC member per year.....

They're probably making more than $65 of each AP member throughout the year, too. But they still have to bu the DDE. Remember the original purpose of DDE...it was only available to Florida Residence, not even AP holders until a couple years ago. It was designed to encourage locals to dine at full service Disney owned restaurants.

With DVC Members there is no need to "draw" them to WDW restaurants, most are staying onsite and would eat there anyway, just as most WDW hotel guests do.

The DDE was made available to all AP holders two+ years ago, perhaps as a way to boost the program...as many AP holders were local residents, and still did not dine onsite. The AP holders got a discount on the DDE, versus the standard DDE price for non-AP FL residents.

If it was felt by Disney that the DDE being available to all DVCers was needed as a way to increase DVC sales, it probably would be a DVC perk...but apparently DVC is selling quite nicely as is.

i couldn't agree w/you more....however - in keeping with the general theme of this particular thread, which is 'what perks would you like to have', i guess my follow-up to the above quote would be that it doesn't matter to me that DVC sales are going well....i still think it would be nice for members to get a DDE-esque discount w/o having to purchase an AP (or even a DDE card)....we're dreamin' here, right?

I basically agree with everything you said, but I think the landscape has changed a bit since they made DDE available to AP holders.

The change to permit us to purchase DDP is one example. I think they are now looking beyond what they have to do to get business -- they seem to be looking more toward what they can offer that would get more business. I could see them making DVC owners eligible to purchase the DDE. It would cost them nothing, would make many DVCers happy, and would increase their restaurant business.

DDE is no big deal to me, because I'm already double-eligible, but it would be nice to have for the majority of our members.

I Love the OP's idea of after 4:00pm tickets. Last time I went to a convention at WDW we bought after 2:00pm tickets and that was great- I think it would be very cool if DVC members had access to 'special' tickets like that. I would definately love a discount on MYW tix- we will probably never get APs so this would be great for us.
I think that quality member gatherings would be good- they are already having the gatherings, but they have gotten blah reviews- so spice those up a bit.
An more affordable way to trade into DCL or special DCL discounts, shipboard credits...
I feel DVC members should get at LEAST all the perks offered to DISNEYVISA (World of Disney discount, free photo & meet & greet) and a few more on top of that.

How about competing with the other best timeshare in Orlando (Marriott) and offer free internet? $10 a day is way too much for the service.

I about died when my guide regaled the perk of having internet at DVC... at only $9.95 a day. I told him I get that for free at my current timeshare so it's actually a downgrade not a perk.

At the very least, just charge us the actual cost. $300.00 a month for the internet is a little steep!
