Hey, we are awaiting our Fedex package at the moment, we purchased 100 points at AKV @ 96$ per point, and gave us a matching 100 points at Saratoga to use within the next year with no dues until 5/1/09. :cool1:

My question begins here. My fiance's family and I made a regulat magic your way package reservation with dining back in March for a 2 bedroom Villa at the BCV for December 14-December 20. We did this through the regular disneyworld.com website. When our DVC membership is final and we have our membership number, is it possible for us to call and get the 25% discount off the room prices that we already have booked?

Also, we plan on upgrading two of the magic your way tickets to AP's with the DVC discount. since we booked a package that included dining, would we be able to call and tell them that we have AP's, and we want to get the DDP discount? (I think I read somewhere, where it was up to 30%).

I wish we would have thought to just buy into DVC earlier this year, but we didnt, so thats our situation. can anyone offer assistance? thank you!

You may try calling but I doubt you can do any of the things you ask about. The 25% DVC room discount is for room ressies made through DVC and there is a limit in inventory for it. You would need to cancel existing ressie you have through Central Reservations and try for room only through DVC and it is highly questionable any DVC discounted rooms would be available at that time.

Unless something has changed, there is no AP discount for the DDP. You can reserve a room with an AP discount (and as above you would need to cancel existng package and reserve anew to do that, which may be difficult to do) and then add DDP at the regular DDP price. You may be thinking of the Disney Dining Experience card you can buy if you have an AP. You pay a $75 annual fee for the card and then can get 20% off dining prices at most restaurants.

The DDE is $60 per year and and the discount includes beverages. The way I look at it, I can drink 20% more at the same price when using the DDE. :thumbsup2

:yay: Welcome!

If you purchased through Disney, you do not have to wait until closing to call and make ressies (my guide connected me to member services right after she told me I got the contract!). If you don't have the number for member services, call your guide for the number. Then call member services and ask for inventory for what you're looking for. You may not get it, but it wouldn't hurt to ask! Plus, you still have your previous reservation.

And, I understand what you mean about wishing you had joined sooner. I had a ressie for months for the GF when I finally decided to join the DVC (I just couldn't turn down 100 points with a $500 down payment). There were a few tense days waiting for a contract with live inventory, as when I got my first contract it was within the last four months and I couldn't book at a non-DVC resort (so many rules to keep straight; I really wanted to be able to stay, at least a few nights, at the GF). But, now things are cool and we're just waiting for the waitlist to come through our last night so we don't have to move twice!

Good luck, and, again, WELCOME!
