I asked this over in the restaurant board, but got a bunch of flack and am assuming it is b/c they are not familiar with dealing with kids with food allergies and the struggle we face to let our kids have decent tasting food and desserts for special occasions.
While Disney is great with food allergies and normal food, I feel they fall short with the frozen "allergy cake" that can not even be decorated.
SO... when Babycakes opened in DTD I was thinking this would be a great opportunity for a yummy allergy-friendly cake in WDW!
We will be in WDW for my birthday and DD's birthday this year and when I made DD's reservation at CRT I asked about Babycakes delivery and was told I could bring one, but that they would not store or serve it. I am OK with that as we will be at CR and can quickly pop over to grab the cake, but am sad that she will not get the same birthday service AND have a yummy cake.
I am happy to pay Disney for the cake and would LOVE to order one of the super cute ones that they make, but DD can not eat it. It is not me trying to cheat Disney, it is me trying to get DD the same birthday options at WDW as non-food allergic kids.
I am going to contact Disney about it, but was wondering if anyone else was having the same thoughts.
