Then she has her semi formal 8th grade dinner dance and graduation in a few weeks! Where did the time go?

my oldest has his 8th grade graduation and dance on Tuesday night....he was just a baby last week, how did he turn 14 so fast?
Congrats to your DD, Muffy....it's an exciting time!

:::wave to SwanDolphin:::

:wave2:

Congrats to Madge's and Muffy's DD and I will also add my own, Our oldest DD Ashley is also graduating 8th grade.... Graduation is May 27th and their dance follows graduation... Our babies are all growing up

DH and DD go to Toronto tomorrow for DD's class trip. Most of the chaperones are dads!! (daddy's girls) She doesn't get done until Mid-June though. But, there's still lots of activities to finish up in the next few weeks. We went to her High School orientation yesterday. It's hard to believe but I'm very excited for her. The hospital she was born in is next door and she said to me "did you ever think when you had me that I would be going to high school here"? Wahhhhhhhhhhh :sad2:

Luckily, her brother is a year older so we already survived the "we're too young to have a high schooler emotion". (mentally, not chronologically)

Hi to all!

I am so happy to say that I added a fourth night for us at the Swan. I was waiting until now because I didn't want to fork over the one night's deposit on the credit card! Well the very warm and efficient Swan Reserv. lady was able to add the extra night onto our other award reservation so we didn't have to make the deposit at all. Wow...and we get to stay in our Exec. suite the whole time, too.

This is really amazing because we are paying the standard AAA rate so I did NOT count on keeping the suite. Although it would have been hard to go from Suite to standard

Now if I can just sweet talk the front desk people into opening up the connecting door to give us enough beds for all the kiddies to sleep separately...that would be a dream come true! No more..."she's on my side, stop touching me!"

OK for anyone who's used the Dolphin Kids club...if I made a reservation, could it be canceled if DS was just too tired to go? I want to plan a Parents-night-out to Pleasure Island.:smooth:

Add me to the graduation list-

DS (our youngest) is graduating from HS on June 6. He was at the college today meeting with his advisor to prepare his schedule for the fall. Our 2 will both be in college in Sept. - Oldest DS will be a senior.

Debbie~my boys would rather sleep on the floor than share a bed which they did on our last trip to the Dolphin - sleep on the floor that is. ;) Heaven forbid, they actually come in contact with one another!

We have a school milestone here too.....DS is in 6th grade so next year is Junior High for him!

Nice to see other Birnbaum fans here. By now most of the info is familiar but I still have to have one for each and every trip. My earliest one is from 1983!!!

Gotta run....baseball game tonite! :wave2:

Evening to everyone...

We will also add a graduation to the growing list: our last college graduation is on Sunday! DD # 3 finishes up with her Business degree. We had two dds' graduate last May - gee, i think this means all those deferred loans soon begin!! So, what am i cheering for??????
Between our first wedding in July - we have 5 daughters - we should know what an empty purse really looks like then!!! :bride:

...and yes, our school year ends on June 18th - now hoping to find a summer job teaching - have to pay all those bills that don't stop in the summer!!!

Hope that you all have a great week. Caroline
:teacher:

I am going to start crying here! *grabbing kleenux*

DD is graduating HS on June 11th. I also had her when I was 12! LOL So much ahead of her, so many changes to come! I do hope some of you get to meet her at the meet! *still working on getting her to commit to a YES for Disney* (She has a new better paying job, too! YEAH!)
DS will be done with his "elementary years" this year and will be a middle schooler! *though thank God they have sixth grade split off this year due to overcrowding in the MS building. He'll be just with sixth graders for one year before that big leap to 7th and 8th!

and the last milestone....

Max the puppy is 2 1/2 months old now! LOL He's a Jack Russel/Rat terrier. Yes, we have a Jackrat! :) He was DS's birthday present two weeks ago and they instantly bonded and are great for each other. The house was too quiet without a dog, and what is one more in total chaos?

Lovingthemouse>> I'll spring for the drinks on June 18th! That is my last day, also!

Nighty night sisters!
Debbie

I should probably get info on the Dolphin Kids Club too. I'd like to go to the Adventurer's Club one night.

Hourly rates?
Age limits?
Hours of operation? (Only time we walked by before it wasn't open)

Congrats to all of you who have graduations!

Mr. Swandolphin thanks for all you do for all of us!:D

Debbie~ my DS who is graduating from HS will be with us at the meet. Our trip is his grauation present, too. Now, whether he will ever make an "appearance" at any of our gatherings is probably doubtful! :p

Caroline ~ I will start celebrating for us on June 16th - that's when my school ends!

Good Morning DF and others in the room :) Those guides and passporter are also my personal favorites and get them every year.

I am still hoping those teacher/government rates are released soon for 2005! We are staying at the Dolphin either way, but a specail rate would be great!

Hello to Mr. Swandolphin and thanks for helping to make the resorts such a great place to stay :)

sarahsmom73 ~ Sorry for your loss....... We have 2 little yorkies, we just adore :) Spanky and Punky...

Waving to the room

:wave2:
I Just adore ANY "terrier" breed! My MAC was a Terrier...mix. So precious, sweet and fiercely LOYAL. Mouseteacher has a Terrier (Airedale) too! What cute names...Spanky & Punky. They must be in "heaven" with all the attention they get from the kids.

Muffy& marymrg, madge and mompoppins (all beginning with an "M" I must point out!)~Oh, I ask myself the same thing...all the time (where DID the time go?). I was in DD's bedroom last week, and saw a book on her desk (she must have pulled from her bookshelf). It was a Dr. Seuss...."Oh, the places you'll go." I sat down upon her bed, and opened the cover. It was inscribed on the inside page..."As you begin your journey into school, may you always remember your early years. HOME...is the place you truly BEGIN! Enjoy the adventure...and know we forever love you. Someday, you'll be graduating...and read this book with a laugh." XO Always, Mom & Dad Sept. 1992. The tears just streamed down my face. This is the reason I do not venture in there alone too often. There are so many memories of the "little" girl she once was. As much as I adore the young woman she has embraced, I miss the innocence of youth. :(

Debbie7452~Yes, you can cancel the children's club ressie without problems. Your post made me laugh, as I always thought only my siblings and I did that when we traveled!! ( ..."she's on my side, stop touching me!"):rotfl: And to read mouseteacher's DS's still feel the same way...too funny! :teeth: I guess it takes us YEARS to outgrow this thing. (LOL).

lovingthemouse~:wave2: MORE graduations...and weddings! (Empty purse...LOL). :p When...are they ever going to start PAYING teachers "year-round" (this means SUMMERS too!). Some of the most important people we entrust with our precious children, and they remain undervalued and underpaid!! I need to run for office, so I can CHANGE THIS!! :hyper: I wish you luck with the summer prospects. You are so wonderful...I'm sure you will have more offers than you can handle. ::yes::

hockeymom~PLEASE, pass the kleenex....thank you!
Wow...we were both the same age at the time we became pregnant! (LOL)...:teeth: Another TERRIER! WE definitely have similar tastes in canines. It's terribly "quiet" around here too. My DH makes up the funniest names (JACKRAT!!) with mixed breeds. Our neighbors have a mixed (Corgi & shepard!...YES, I KNOW...) breed which DH calls "SHORGIE!" They thought it was so funny, they began calling the dog this name as a joke. Now, everyone calls him this!

TTFN...to all of you faithful and loyal SWAN/DOLPHIN lovers/sisters and brothers! :wave2:

DF99 :sunny:

It seems to me we all come from the same cloth...so to speak! LOL ....Love of canines (terriers in particular), raising or raised (sniff sniff - since mine truly are young adults) our children in loving, caring, nuturing homes and of course, the common thread that keeps us together -----> our love of WDW and the Swan/Dolphin.

NOW...if that wasn't a SORORITY GAG, Denise...I don't know what is!!! :teeth:

I went to the chat room...registered, successfully. Clicked on the chat, and a pop-up revealed 5 persons in the room (mouseteacher...YOU, and some others). Of course, my nick was in there too...(1DF99) but I was not able to CHAT!! I felt like I was not only wearing a blind-fold...but a giant GAG as well! I was a complete and total (gasp...) MUTE~! I was typing, and trying to find the TYPE-MESSAGE box...to no avail. I was frantically reading the tutorial, and scanning any techie advice I could find...all in vain! :worried: A pen and paper would have proved more effective!

Then, I had an  and tried to use my AOL...IM! LOL...I'm real computer savvy! This was a real pain...and I was working so tenaciously (my nature) to communicate with ANY of you, I felt like Houdini trying to send a SIGN!! :teleport: :headache: I'm going to need some SERIOUS instructions if I'm to ever try that one again.

Next time, leave some popcorn and bevs out for me...the room OUTSIDE the chat was BLEAK and BARREN!! :p

I sent you another PM, but by then your PM box was full (again, LOL!) so you didn't get the message. I was trying to be your light in the dark! We missed you... we'll have to get better instructions to you... unless it's your firewall or someother security settings?

Missed you DF!!!!!!

I was also on AOL IM.....my "name'' there is the same as on the DIS.

And...if it IS my "FIREWALL"...there's no help for me!! LOL...
