HI Debbie ~ Are you driving 18 hours straight from Texas? My vote is for Fantasmic...its close and the boat is more enjoyable than the bus :) Fantasmic would be a great way to start your vacation.... We on the other hand.... start ours at Epcot ride on Spaceship Earth and eat around the world... :) Its a family ritual that we have always done on our first night...

Waving to the room

Hi MP! Yes we are driving straight there from TX. Last time we drove through the night:eek:

It was not that bad, even with three kids (including one car seat)packed into a regular size sedan. This time we have it easy because we have the portable TV/DVD player and we finally let the kids have gameboys! I was dreaming of having a three seat SUV by now but...

We travel A LOT driving to the races so I don't mind it so much. Our next race is in Rusk, TX. (June 11-13) if you feel like a road trip!

Now if I can get my AC fixed. The pixie dust worked for a while but has now run out and I need professional assistance :earseek:

I had not considered the ease of transportation when pondering this and I think you are right. Does anyone know if it is much less crowded for the second Fantasmic when there are two shows?

Hi again Debbie ~ It looks like we are the only ones on the boards this afternoon :) I have heard that the last showing of fantasmic is the least crowded... I have not personally gone when there were 2 showings. We will be on a road trip to San Antonio on the 13th. of June.. Where is Rusk? I know what you mean about tv/dvd players we have 2 ceiling mounts in our Dodge Ram/Regency Van, it saves from the fights of movie or Nintendo... one can be on movie and one can play nintendo... :) makes it a lot happier in the van. We have never driven staight through from Texas to Florida. We always sleepover, usually 2 nights on the way down. but on our next trip I am pondering driving it on a one night sleepover... you have given me hope that we can do it :) BTW how did you get the executive suite, please share... :hyper:

Now something on topic.. I got my Platinum SPG card today renewal from Starwood... yipee good until 2005! Now to work on keeping it at that level... time to plan some more trips :)

Just a quick popping in - DH's brother is in the hospital and he not expected to live. He has been ill for some months but the end is never easy to take.

And with all of that, I took my dog for her annual check-up yesterday and got a call today that her blood glucose was low (not a good thing). I have to take her in tomorrow for another blood test. The vet said it could have been a bad test - I am praying that is the problem and it was a mistake. She is not showing any signs of any problems - I'm hoping that is a good sign.

So, the Mouseteacher house is feeling great sadness about my DBIL. DS(19) is especially saddened since his graduation is a week away and he was hoping his uncle would still be well enough for him to phone him after he gradauated. We knew he couldn't make our party.

On a good note - we received an invitation to the high school's academic award ceremonies for DS(19). The award is a surprise to him and to us so we won't know what he is receiving until we attend the ceremony. We're thrilled! :hyper:

Our Dolphin trip can't come soon enough. I made my towncar ressies yeaterday. ::MickeyMo

Aw mouseteacher, you have the good and the bad.....

:grouphug: Can't say anything about your DBIL that won't sound prosaic... my heart goes out to you and your family!

Congrats to your DS19! An exciting finish to his high school years!

Wave to the Room.... hello MomPoppins, jgates, Deb! I am off to sleep before heading back down to Orlando tomorrow morning! I have a Conference this weekend on Disabilities, but am taking the older two DD's to see Universal Studios first. Then I'll drive them home and go back down for the conference.... (What was I thinking?? LOL!)

Nightie night all!

Hookedup is back online! She is the one who designed our avatar, remember! Hookedup! Please check your PM box! I have sent you many messages! LOL!

Just stopping in to say HI! Very busy here- DH is done working on Saturday- he is losing his job:( While we've known since Jan. somehow it doesn't make it any easier now.

How sad, Mouseteacher. I just said a small prayer for him and your family for strength and peace.

Dreaming of the Dolphin...Tubbi's, club level, Heavenly Beds!!!
I will miss it in Sept/Oct, but no discounts to be had:( We are most likely staying at POFQ or WL if AP discounts come out. EIther way I will be thrilled to be back in the World.

Hockeymom- How are you?? Are you flooding at all? We are dry here at my house, but only a mile away is a river that didn't used to be! I feel so bad for all these people losing so much in the flood, plus having to clean it all up !

Have a great day everyone!

I'm just popping in this morning to say hi as well.

I've just been very busy with school. This is such a crazy time in the school year!!

Dreamflight~After all this time, I finally got my SPG gold card in the mail yesterday!! Thanks again for your fabulous advice.:bounce:

Mouseteacher~Still planning on that Boston MEET. I'll have to send a message to the person coordinating it. It sound like fun!

Have a great day everyone:tongue:

Mouseteacher....here's hugs for you {{hugs}} your family is in my prayers...

Mouseteacher~ I didn't read above posts until just now. Sorry to hear about your news.

Joanne

I'm so sorry about your DBIL. Sending heartfelt thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Hugs.

Hello to everyone!

Just thought I'd post a quick recap of our Dolphin stay, 5/14-22.

Have SPG Gold and checked on line before leaving Friday to see that yes, all types room showed availability including balcony. We got to Dolphin to check in about 5:30pm. Didn't see the SPG desk so went to main registration. Asked nicely if a comp. upgrade to balcony might be possible and YES! Had choice of a couple of rooms but just asked the CM to give me the one she would like best. No EPCOT view available. Was given 7177 which looked out over the pool complex and MGM. It was a long walk to the room but view was great! TOT, Hat. Could listen to Fantasmic and see fireworks. Could even see Mickey when he stands at the very top.

Beds heavenly. Housekeeping overall good.
Fountain great and my 10yr old DD and her friend loved stopping in for ice cream or float.
Liked Tubbies. It's about the nicest counter of all the resorts we've been at.
Bus service was good. Most trips S/D had their own and did not share with other EPCOT resorts.
Boat fine as always.
Dolphin staff very friendly and welcoming.

It was a great trip and it's nice to come back thinking that at $147 per night AP rate, I got one heck of a upgrade.

Thanks to everyone!
Sharon

just poppin in to say HI! :wave2: and to give mouseteacher :grouphug: for your DBIL.

You gals are getting closer and closer to the meet!
:hyper:

Have a wonderful and safe weekend!

Mouseteacher>> Lots of P and PD to you, your family, and your DBIL.:grouphug: I was so sorry to hear this news!

Disfanrn>> Dry here! Drive to work is flooded in places, but I am "over the river and through the woods!" In no area is it unpassable. At work, the Flint River looks almost GOOD at about 30 feet wider than usual, and a current to match! Glad to hear you are high and dry! We were in your area on Saturday, then downriver on Sunday (yes, hockey). Water, water everywhere! I have never had to deal with a *river*flooded house, and I don't want to!

Mompoppins>> We used to drive straight through.... 27 hours! We'd usually pass out somewhere in GA, but never for over two hours! Twenty seven hours is getting all the way to either my mother's or grandparents', but we have also been in Disney all day long, lost our car, then drove straight home w/o stopping! Losing the car is a whole different story! (We did find it after over two hours!)

Hello to EVERYONE! Hopefully life will be less hectic soon and I will be able to post more often! Our counters are counting down!

Debbie

Sending prayers and hugs to Mouseteacher.

Busy around here too. Looking forward to meeting a few folks at the Boston meet in a few weeks! ::yes::

Big WAVE to the room...

Mouseteacher~So sorry to read about the sad turn of events at your home...:( Your DBIL and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure little Reilly will be FINE, as he's too darned sweet/precious to have any malady. :goodvibes

KUDOS to your DS, for the fabulous accomplishment! The surprise will be such a special time, and I'm sure it will bring tears of JOY to your eyes! ::yes:: Enjoy the moment, you have cause for celebration! :cheer2:

Disbug~No HELLO to moi?!? What gives? Is it because my PM box is always FULL....or because I played the GHOST on the recent online CHAT...or because I've yet to successfully download my planner...etc.?!!? :( (JK)....:teeth:

I have not seen hookedup yet, has she been on our thread? So glad to hear she's back...I've missed her!

MOM POPPINS~Oh, we too LOVE the spaceship earth attraction! It's a "tradition" with us too. I've heard different "ripples" over the years that Disney wants to remove/change this attraction. It would literally make us heartsick, as we have been enjoying the same scenes and comforting narration since DD was a wee one! Our hearts and souls are CONNECTED to this ride!! I'll be there to PROTEST should they ever consider such a drastic move. NOT ON MY WATCH!!!

jmcross~Joanne! :wave2: So WONDERFUL to read you finally have the GOLD in HAND! Hooray. Now...your next step is to plan the trip to the Swan/Dolphin to USE the card!! :hyper:

hightown~LIKE K.C. & THE SUNSHINE BAND SING: "That's the way (uh huh, uh huh) I LIKE IT!!" Smooth and without any problems! I'm IMPRESSED with your finesse. ::yes:: Oh, Sharon...everything you mentioned conjures images of "heavenly" times! The fountain...with the "homemade" ice cream, Tubbi's...with the BEST counter service of any location, the BEST bus/boat service in the WORLD, view, staff...etc. Amazing UPGRADE for the Price you paid. You must have hated to leave (we always do!). Are you planning a return? Thanks for the details. So happy you all enjoyed your stay. :D

madge~YES...PM me! I'll clean out my box to insure safe delivery.

BambiT~Hello Sis! Good to see you over here in this neck of the woods! How's the lounge? I left some refreshments out, and replaced the ice, etc. Enjoy!

paras4ri~Wish I was going to the Boston Meet!! I'm sure you'll all have a great time. :cloud9:

:grouphug::love: To all the SISTERS and BROTHERS in the room!

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:
