Hi guys.....back safely!!!! Wonderful weekend and weather exceeded the weather channel predictions!

Very frustrated to get to our Fairfield and discover they had recently installed hi-speed wireless internet and my card(s) were at home. I tried dialing in but it kept telling me my password was invalid. Only thing I could figure out is that DH had the desktop connected at home at that time so it wouldn't let me connect in 2 spots.

***NOTE*** They told me all Marriott properties have to have hi-speed internet installed by 6/30. I think she said wireless, but if not, at least hi-speed.

Then back to the Swan internet connection questions I have....... I have both cards - wireless & regular ethernet. On the directions for the wireless at Fairfield, it said 'restart your PC & enable your ethernet card'. Huh? How do you enable the card? Can you tell I haven't used them yet!!! Then they provided a log-in ID & password. Will I need this at the Swan? Or will plugging in that cable to the ethernet card take care of everything? Do they give you an ID & PW to use?

Also, DF - do you know if the Universal hotels have hi-speed internet? Royal Pacific most specifically?

Hey jgates. :wave2:

To enable card, go to Start>Contol Panel>Network Connections

If the high speed card is not enabled, right click on it and click enable.

At the Swan, just plug cable in and, assuming your card has been enabled as above, just click on browser and you are on.

Thanks Dan!!! My DGF & I were just wondering the same thing. She'll have her laptop with her for our adventure this summer. :sunny:

And IF you still have trouble connecting, just call the help desk. THe folks here are mighty nice and quickly helped me get connected! It is wonderful. Lightening fast.

Have a great time.

Raining here today. I know they need it, but was hoping it would hold off till sunday :(

Glad you're home safely, JGates! My card must have been enabled since I know I just logged on in last June. That is a major perk for S/D, having the high speed internet connection! When I was in Tampa at the Westin Innisbrook for my conference last fall they didn't have that, and I lived with my laptop that week! It was useless unless I was in the conference room, and then we were all huddled around one table trying to log on!

Now to get the rest of Disney online! Wait, what am I saying? My laptop is dead! Nevermind... I'm going to Disney! Its packing day!

Have a great day, everyone!

Happy Easter Everyone. I hope you're feeling much better DF.

We are at the Dolphin and having a wonderful time.

Sounds like they treated you fairly! How do you feel about the experience so far???

Hi everyone and Happy Belated Easter- I hope everyone had fun celebrating with family and friends!

Heard from S/D about CL floor renovations and they are not complete yet, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for a renovated room.

Hockeymom-are you as frazzled as I am trying to pack/clean/organize? We have someone who stays at our house to watch the doggie, so my house had to be in order when we leave-plus trying to go to bed early! Oh well, it will get done and tomorrow we will be in the MAGIC!!! Also, I PM'd you a question, please look for it if you have time-thanks!

Have a great day everyone-will try to post from the Dolphin!

Kim

I have all of this time to pack and I am completely disoranized! Maybe I work better under pressure! All we have done so far is having the dining room table filled with must-haves for our trip! Mr. Potato Head is in the middle of the pile! LOL By five I hope to be packed, then just the "forgots" will be added in. I just yelled across the house to DS to remember to bring SOCKS and UNDERWEAR for every day, not just select days!

We're going to AKL. My husband owns night vision goggles. Can we find them? NOOOOOOO. I did find both pairs of binoculars, though! I also already added the cell phone charger so we won't miss any of DD's phone calls! Digital camera.. CHECK! Last time I made do with the cell phone camera!

ACK! Need to run and pack more! I haven't even made shoe selections yet!

I wasn't quite sure where to post this question but I thought this might be the place.

My husband am I were at the World in October and just fell in love with the Dolphin/Swan resort area. Walking to Epcot is so much fun and beats riding the bus on trudging through a parking lot. And that lobby at the Dolphin!!

My question has to do with something I've been reading in several of the Disney guide books. Is there really a walking path to MGM from the Dolphin/Swan area. I think taking a boat is an option as well?

If there is a walking path, where is it and how long does it take to get to MGM?

How long does the boat take?

Thanks so much.

There is a path and I remember it being about the same as the walk to epcot. Since S&D are the last and first stop before and after MGM -- the boat is a bit faster.

Rained all night and into the morning. Sure kept the crowds at MGM to a minimum though! Walked on to the Great Movie Ride, then went to Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. Another walk on there and guess who was the FIRST fastest finger and into the HOT SEAT???????? You guessed it ::yes::
I only made it to 16k and then lost. BUt wore my pins and lanyard proudly around the park :)
We walked on to Back Stage Tours too. And walked right in for photos with Mickey :)
Had our lunch with an imagineer (by that time the rain had stopped, sun came out and the crowds were packing the park!)
Food was great and the time was wonderful. The Special Souvenier Plate is awesome!!
I think we are headed to Animal Kingdom next!!

One thread, and two of the smartest people ever on it! Coincidence? I think not! :) Congrats on the hotseat! You and Disbug are my heroes!

I am planning for partial rain tomorrow upon arrival, but expect it to clear in the evening. If not, who cares! We're in Disney World!

I just read one of the best sentences ever in an email from AKL IPO!
I wanted to touch base and let you know that we were able to book Cinderella's Royal Table for 9:45 AM on the 14th of April for a party of three!
WOO HOOO we have our table! I have to share it with you guys and the cocierge thread, because I have a feeling DH's response will be "how much is this going to cost me?" I'll work on him. I think its been too long since he's been in Disney, and he's been totally stressed out at work.

I am still packing, but took a break. Need to get to the store. I don't think I'll be packed in time yet I have more time than I've had in years to pack!

I hope to see Caroline while I am there. Look for a redwings necklace on a redhead/auburn/blond highlights person! Ok, just look for the giant smile? :) Maybe I'll run into crz4mm2, too! I expect to see disfanrn at the airport this time, or else! I think we'll find each other, finally! Its not like the airport is that big!

Off to the store! Giant sorority wave to all!
Debbie

Have a great time Hockeymom :teeth: ! Won't be missing any hockey games now, will you ;) ?

Congratulations on CRT!

Sending you some sunshine :sunny: , but not TOO much, or at least lots of sunscreen!:cool1:

Can't wait to hear about your trip!

Wishing everyone a wonderful Post-Easter monday. ::yes::

For everyone visiting the DOLPHIN/SWAN.... & ENJOY!!

*On a tragic note: Our beloved dog of 7 years, 3 months and 12 days, Mac, died last eve (Easter Sunday). He recently was in the habit of "chewing" the white wooden fence area surrounding the two A/C units (just beyond his kennel fence--which is white wrought iron). 99.9 percent of the time our playful companion was in the yard, he was free. Yet, once in a while, we would place him in the kennel so the other animals could roam/play. Somehow, during the brief interval of time he was in this area late yesterday afternoon, he chewed on the A/C unit power cords. He was electrocuted, immediately. These cords are not exposed, and he pulled on them to free them from "inside" the unit. Once he did this, he grabbed all three cords in his mouth and bit down (we'll never know why). We interred him late last eve, under the arbor area. It has been a horribly rough time, and I still feel numb. Sorry...to post such bad news. :( My heart is completely broken.

Lisa>> I am very sorry for your loss. I know you and your family must just feel awful about the whole thing. I will keep you in my prayers, though you never left them.

Debbie

bballmom>> After how badly they played yesterday, I will probably have a few times where I just MUST see my wings. I am hoping they play well, and I can read the highlights in the paper. As I sit here in my Redwings jersey, though.... I'm doubting my plans will work! AHH spring.. hockey in the air!

Oh Lisa - how very sad for your family. What a tragedy to have this happen. Any time a pet is lost through illness or accident, people feel a great loss. They become such an integral part of our life. Hoping that your days will be brighter and happy memories of Mac will remain. Caroline:hug:

Lisa-My heartfelt condolances on the tragic loss of your furry family member:( How terrible for you all. Our dog is like a child to me and I can only imagine your devastation. I pray for your family to have peace and loving memories of your 7+years with Mac.
You are certainly having a rough go of it lately.

Hockeymom- I will see you in the am!! I am still running around frazzled!- Just got back from doing errands and now finishing packing and cleaning. Goal is bedtime by 7:30 -good luck to me.
I will be in a black jacket with a very blond 8 yo so we will be looking for you! It will be fun to finally meet, and have our kids meet! Good luck with your preparations!

Bye everyone!

DF, I'm very sorry to hear about your dog! I know he must of been like a family member after 7 + years with him. Hugs!

To everyone packing and getting ready to go, have a great time! Tell us all about it when you get home!

Muffy

DF~ So tough to lose a pet. My thoughts are with you.
