Good Morning :)

Bobump ~ Was this a surprise trip ? I am happy for you, have a great time... We will be thinking of you while you are turning in the new year at Epcot :)

HockeyMom ~ Happy Belated Anniversary... Me and DH will be celebrating ours on January 2nd. Our sweet DD is 6 years old today... where does the time go...she told me today "look Mommy now I need two hands"..... :)

Dreamflight ~ It sounds like you and your DD are having fun looking for a great college for her to attend. Again where does the time go.... they grow up way to fast. :)

Anxiously waiting to here from those in the land of the Magic.... ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo Waving to the room...

Have a great trip, Bobump!

MP>> I love that line! "now I need two hands"! I don't know where the time has gone, I just hope I haven't been in the explorer driving when it "went"!

DF>> Isn't it great to be married at 12? LOL I will admit I was married much younger (not at 12! LOL)than I want DD to make the plunge, but it did work in our case!

Last night I decided to call 407-wdisney once again and see if I could get my CBR days changed to AKL to make our trip one resort. I am happy to report that I talked to a fantastic CM who had to pull many strings since part of my reservation is with a travel agent. Halsey rules! He found my AP rate akl days, and he started the mess of paperwork involved! Now I don't have to wake up at 5am and change resorts before our safari!

To make this on topic>> I really do miss the S/D! I know I am just going to kick myself for not making part of that trip involve a heavenly bed! I do know the shortcut out of EPCOT, though, and will use it if we need to! *though doubting the hockey star is going to need a short cut anywhere!* I just know he's going to get a real kick out of being so close to the animals, and he's going to love the sunrise safari!

Happy Tuesday!
Debbie

I have a question about the SPG program in terms of # of stays to qualify for Gold level. I signed up for SPG last June. I have 3 more stays needed until I reach gold level. My question is, does the number of stays go by calendar year or by year from the time I sign up. There is no way I can get 3 more stays by the end of the year (DUH!!), but I could do it by next June.

We plan another trip to WDW in August 2004, so I would like to try and get gold status if I can. (Getting an American express card is not an option. DH is against having more than one Credit card and I already talked him into getting the Disney visa.)

I do have 11,000 SPG points already so I have enough for club level on our week stay!

Maggie

Debbie,

Stepping out of the shadows to wish you a belated happy anniversary.

Your trip sounds like it is going to be great - can't wait for the full report once you go. Glad to hear that Halsey had a little pixie dust for you.

Happy New Year.

Lauren

Happy Anniversary, Hockeymom! :sunny:

ON TOPIC: I just found out that the SPG points expire. Now I'm afraid that they'll expire before our June trip. I went to the SPG website to see when they expire, but I couldn't find anything about it. How long do you have to use the points before they expire? And how can I find out when mine will expire?

We are back from the most unbelievable trip! The unbelievable part is that I got to see most of it from inside my room at the POLY!

Greetings, Sorority! Glad to hear all is well with the board!

Business first!

Delivered Thabo and Mama T's mugs to the Swan Concierge.. unfortunately they were not there :( ...when I went back today to see them, Thabo had left early and it was Mama T's day off!

The conciege I spoke with smiled and said YES! they received the sorority mugs and were excited to get them! So, I will call and talk to them later by phone, as well!

MUFFY! Left you a message at the Dolphin Concierge desk!

ZURGSWIFE! I tried so hard to get to the Dismeet at MK by 3 PM. We made it over there by 4:30 unfortunately. Little DD2 was fussy and the trip down took so much longer than I expected. We had to stop in Ormond Beach to buy her a Wiggles DVD to help distract her during the drive. Even though we arrived by 1:45 PM, I could not get a bottle into that child, bless her heart. So, until she was fed we could not get over there!

Left you a message at the concierge desk!

The journal and sorority tin are in place at the Dolphin Concierge desk!

EEK! HAVE TO MAKE EMERGENCY ROOM RUN... BACK LATER!

Disbug

What is going on??? Is everyone ok? Now you have me all worried. Thinking of you and hoping you pop back in soon with an update.

Don't leave us hanging like this.

Lauren

We checked in this morning and it is great to be back at the Dolphin! Plenty of PD here! We have a renovated Jr. Suite on the east wing! We feel lucky because the S/D is fully booked with a convention. The heavenly beds seem HEAVENLY!

DF, we did not have a Portofino Villa Suite. We had a Portofino Parlor Suite. It was 2 big rooms. One room was a bedroom with 2 queens. The parlor had a queen fold out couch with a big screen TV, marble coffee table, etc. We had 2 bathrooms (huge) and 2 foyers. I will post pictures after I go over my notes on how to do that?! I hope to at least provide a link to our pictures. We didn't get CL as it is not compted to Plat Loews but was offered for 50.00 per day. We were in the west wing, bay view.

Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday Hockeymom! I will let you know how the vouchers work out.

Mouseteacher, We saw the candlelight processional tonight with Gary Sinse. It was breathtaking. Tomorrow is NYE! We will be in Epcot.

Disbug, I will check with concierge tomorrow! Why did you have to go to the ER?? Hope everything is ok?

Happy New Year!
Muffy

I am glad to see both of you... but now I am going to worry! Ok, Denise.. we need an update!

  Denise - Whazzup?????????? I'm worrying!!

Muffy~ thanks for the details...now, I need to know details about NYE celebration. ::yes::

Muffy,

Thanks for the report. Keep up the good work - can't wait to hear about NYE.

Disbug -

Waiting for your post. Hope all is well. Also want to hear more about your trip and what kept you inside your room -- sick Disbug? sick kids?

Lauren

Disbug ~ I am hoping and praying everything is ok with you.. please update when you can :)

Muffy ~ Keep the post coming from the inside, Please find out how the renovations are coming for club level floors :) I would love to have a renovated Jr. suite. I know you will have a great time at Epcot tonight....wished we were there....:)

for a quick shower, bite to eat then back to the hospital! Sorry to keep you all hanging but this is a continuation of the saga which started when we arrived at WDW!

DD2 was transported from the POLY by Emergency Rescue on the 26th to Celebration Emergency Room. (Short Version: projectile vomiting.) Spent the next 2 days in the room nursing her and DD15 (a most uncooperative patient, BTW!). By the 3rd day I had already been in touch with their pediatrician long distance, DH and I agreed they needed to go home and be seen by our doctor. I stayed on for the last day with DD9 who was (and is) the only one who hasn't been struck down by whatever this "bug" is that is going around.

Last night when I got home, I found DD2 had been in bed all day with only 1 bottle for breakfast. I got her up, gave her a bath, and called the doctor because she would not stay awake, even while sitting up to be fed. So we were told to high-tail it to the Emergency room and from there DD2 has been admitted to the Children's Hospital. Possible pneumonia, RSV, flu still don't know. Poor thing is on oxygen and IV fluids/antibiotics... the whole bit. So I am now finished eating and heading off to shower and a 1 hr nap before heading back.

Before this happened I was kind of personally pooh-poohing peoples' fears about catching the flu at WDW. I think I may be a believer now, based on how MANY people I saw were sick. Walking down the hall in my longhouse at the POLY I heard a lot of coughing going on behind the doors...

More later~ sorry for the scare! It's been a long night/week!:wave2:

Oh no! Disbug that is awful. Sorry to hear about your WDW quarantined in the room and even more sorry to hear about your DD. Poor little thing. Sending lots of pd for a speedy recovery so that you can get that baby home with you.

Thinking of you and your family.

Lauren

Disbug....so sorry to hear your news. Worse place to be when you are sick is Disney. Sending you lots of pd and prayers for a speedy recovery. Please keep us posted.

Having my own emergency here too, again, just not on as grand a scale. My DS is in Shreveport, LA for the Independence Bowl and has to cover it for his newspaper, but has come down with the flu, big time. I have been to the Dr.'s office on his behalf, begging for a prescription to get him through the evening. It is also his birthday. He just wants to come home and have his mom take care of him! What next?! We even looked into flights home, so he wouldn't have to come in a car(he is not doing the driving, thank goodness). It was $600, and no flights out until tomorrow, and there are no direct flights, so it would take allllll day! Dr. said this flu will probably last 5-7 days. :(

Glad to hear Muffy is having a good time. We will be thinking about you tonight at Epcot!:)

Happy New Year to everyone else.......STAY HEALTHY!!!

Disbug~ Oh, Denise...So sad to read about all the trouble you and your family experienced while @ WDW. What a terrible way to spend your Holiday vacation. You are all in my prayers. Please keep us apprised on the status of little DD in the Children's Hopsital. :( Also hoping DD15 is feeling better and recovering from her bout with this ailment. Hope you are able to catch a little more sleep. Take care.

Muffy~We have definitely stayed in the Portofino Suite before (your descrip. jarred my memory). I'm looking forward to your reports and photos(or photo link)! I'll have CL @ the PBH this summer, and will let you know if it would be worth the extra $50 per day (probably not, as that's a LOT of extra $$). So happy you are back in the newly renovated Dolphin! Those beds are wonderful. ::yes:: I've always wanted to do the "Candlelight processional", (one of these years I'll travel there for this treat).
Enjoy your time in the MAGIC!

Bobump~Have a WONDERFUL stay! :sunny:

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE to the BEST POSTERS/THREAD on the BOARDS!

 :wizard: (PD) for your DD, Disbug. I am so glad you were able to get her home to your own pedatrician. It is so much more comforting dealing with familiar medical care. I pray she is out of the hospital soon and quickly on the mend. Btw, how are you holding up? :D

ozzie~ sorry about your DS and his bout of the flu so far from home. I hope he can get home to get some mother TLC.

OH no! Sending lots of prayers and pixie dust for Disbug's girls and Ozzie's boy. What a rotten way to bring in the new year! I hope everyone is fine and feeling better in short order.

To those nursing the sick, and those that are lucky enough not to be.... Happy New Year! May we all stay healthy, wealthy, and wise in the coming year! I know no one on this board needs to be reminded that wealth comes in so many more important forms than money. :)

Love ya, mean it!
Debbie

I am also sending prayers and pixie dust your way, Disbug and Ozzie.... I hope your children feel better soon. I am happy to hear they never grow up so much, they no longer need a Mommy's TLC :)

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year... :)
