sure kimmar! you have just the right spunk to be a part of this great sorority of fun-loving mouseketeers! If my logo making ability is any indication, I will NOT be running for "Class Secretary"! Thank you, hookedup! I can't wait to see how the temporary logo looks after you get the banner added! I posted a link to a website for viewing because I don't have photoshop to convert the code from .xls to .gif! Sometimes, it just takes a "Village", dunt it??

Good to hear from you, mouseteacher! DF's pics are something else, aren't they? She notices EVERYthing! I would have never thought to start clicking when I saw those mail boxes...! LOL!That is why we are so glad to have so many diverse personalities on this thread... it adds that extra joie de vivre (sp?)

MOM POPPINS~ I'm just catching up on reading yesterday's posts and can't believe what's been happening to DD Rachel. My DS12 also has impaired hearing, and we have also requested special seating to help him. (It has been suggested by drs. that he use an FM system, but he has done very well without it. His teachers feel that it might bring more attention to him because he is mildly autistic, and we don't want him to "stick out" any more than necessary.) Luckily, we havn't had a problem with teachers following our request.

I'd like to pass along some advice we received from a specialist who helped us on our IEPs. Be specific! You have the right to revise her IEP at any time. We have done this a couple of times in our son's educational path. For example, you may add that Rachel IS TO BE SAT IN X LOCATION because of her need, and the teacher is REQUIRED BY LAW to follow that instruction. We havn't had to lean on this too often, but it has been very effective when used!

Also, hang in there! I know how badly it hurts when your child is hurting. (My little guy also was left on the playground and couldn't be found for half an hour. I was 8 mo. pregnant and thought that I'd have DD right there! It all turned out o.k. and made me stronger--him, too!) DS12 is now aceing advanced classes and having a great time. With all the effort and care you put into Rachel's education, I'm sure that she will succeed beautifully and you will look back on these tough times like they were a lifetime ago.

PS- dd5-my youngest- starts kindergarten this Thursday!

Maybe so we can keep "on topic" for the resort board (and not be requested to move to the CB) our sorority could really offer some useful services like updates on rennovation progress and of course helping our fellow DIS'ers with S/D tips and info as good sorority members would.

I can also assist with hazing, something I have extensive experience with from my college sorority days!! LOL!!!

I will defer to mouseteacher, DF99, and others as to the official handshake, and motto... I vote that the colors be salmon pink (peach?) and aqua.. just like the S/D original colors!

You know ladies, this might be cause for a new pin OR an Italian charm for our our bracelets?

Italian Charm? (saying excitedly) YES!!!!

Purpose: "to assist all with plans and tips on staying at the S/D". Looks like that is our charter.

If that's the case, then we must take a "business" trip to S/D for more research. This probably should be done a few times a year to keep us updated. Disbug, lucky you - you're so close. My dad lives in Indian Rocks Beach -- maybe I should relocate---

WOW!! I can't believe how far behind I fell in reading this thread.

MOM POPPINS~ I feel so bad for your daughter. How could the teacher not count her students to make sure everyone is there?

My DS7 (his b-day was Thursday ) also has a IEP. You must read it very carefully. I just rec'd his the other day ( we don't start school until Sept.3rd) and they left out his testing mods and also reduced his resourse room by one day. (which was incorrect)
I called yesterday and had it changed.
Just keep on what your doing BE STRONG BE YOUR CHILD"S ADVOCATE!

Love your logo DISBUG-- I would love to join too but I don't think I have stayed at the Dolphin /swan in a long time to be considered. I will continue to read on!

And BTW looks like we are going to WDW at Christmas... now it's time to plan!

Both icons are beautiful! I agree with the colors.... tag faeries will you please help us? Charter sounds great! Business trip.. A MUST! I wonder if we can get a CL comp for all the free advertising? LOL My mom is in Venice... my Grandparents on Hutchinson Island... S/D would be between them! What would I do with no snow to deal with in the winter? LOL I have neglected my duties on the Italian charm bracelet purchase. I will inform DH that it is a must now that we might have to add a special charm! I do, though, own the prerequisite Disney regular charm style bracelet, which I wear with my "vacation" charm bracelet. You can't be a teacher w/o the right gear, right?

To keep this on topic, look for a clock sometime this weekend to pop up with my name. Hopefully I will get the chance this weekend to finalize *somewhat* our plans for our next vacation!

Did you see on the logo how the "real" dolphin logo has the triangular shape just like the delta? And if you use your imagination (stretch your imagination!) you can see the shape of the sigma in one of the swans! Loubon has also made up some prototypes and is sending them to me via email. I will see if he will post them on this thread....

The logos look great. Just a suggestion - hookedup's idea of putting the colors in the greek letters might work for an avatar.

By the way, disbug, I was thinking of the dolphin triangle - swan sigma concept too when I saw hookedup's idea. Looks like you're all on to something. I guess t-shirts and ball caps will be next.
