NEW...DOLPHIN/SWAN..."questions and answers"...tips and hints!

When I stayed at the Swan in December the air conditioning blew directly on my face too! It was very uncomfortable. I moved all of the slats on the face of where the air blew out. Then the room seemed warm. That was one of the reasons why I much prefer the Dolphin.

BTW ... I am back from France ... we had a great time and were treated very well by everyone we encountered. And my daughter is now the World Baton Twirling Champion in her age division!:teeth: (Thanks for letting me brag and share the good news!).

I decided to use cash and points at the Swan for my upcoming birthday ressie and cancelled my AAA rate for a king, standard view. Do you think I made the right decision???:D

"Room Description Whimsical Themed Room Located On Royal Beach Club Floors With Access To The Private Royal Beach Club Lounge.
Room Amenities Club Room Non-Smoking, Concierge Level, Continental Brkfst, Evening Hors D'Oeuvres, Turndown Service"

I thought I would get the same room and boy was I shocked!

Even though we just returned from a 10 day trip to the World and Vero Beach, it sure will be nice to get away with just dh for a few days. Occasionally, my two teens(boy and girl) got/get on my last nerve. Thank heaven for my 6 year old........We let the big kids sleep in some days and went and had our own fun! We also met up with my sister and nephew.......whom I haven't seen in a few years. I gave my nephew and older son tickets for DisneyQuest (late birthday gift for nephew) They had a blast. All in all, it was a great trip. I was amazed when we first got there......the weather was not humid at all. What a change from when I was there the first week of September last year.

Dreamflight: Did you make any decisions about Nasa while I was gone?

MomPoppins: Just want to let you know that you and baby Kirk are in my prayers. I have a very special place in my heart for those little fighters.

I love the pictures! I hope you are planning to share more with us!

To people following my missing days/wrong room/crying fits saga.... BOB (from dreams unlimited) CAME THROUGH!!! I had most of the problems cured by Friday morning, the last glitch was just cured today! WOOO HOOO we're going to Disney World! I will be calling back on Monday to have everything faxed to me *I have learned tons from this board!* So I have paper in hand stating club level *which is what I paid for* with a balcony resort view room.

I am totally "geeked" over this trip. I am even excited about the croissants someone spoke about in the Swan concierge room! Seems my entire family became croissant junkies while in Paris last summer. My nine year old has already planned his first lunch in epcot to be croque monsieur avec frites!

June 23rd here we come!

Hi piper!!

I am so glad to see someone from Houston.

We also are going and are leaving first week of June at the Dolphin. Wohoo!!

Are you driving or flying??? we are driving since there are no good airfare. I missed out on the $133 delta had a few months ago.

GM--I am flying Continental because it is nonstop! I have trouble changing planes in very large airports! I'll be in the ecv with the Mickey seat cover and wearing my green ribbon--maybe I'll see you there !

Count me in !!! I love reading these threads. I also love the pictures, keep them coming. Thanks for all the great advice, we will be at the Swan in November.

Hi all,

Counting down and glad there's a new thread!!!!

Some questions:confused:

Disnurse: where you on club level and was your room with balcony. I would love to request it.

Mom23guys2: Please tell what room you had so I make sure I don't get that.

Marymrg: your description of room type "Room Description Whimsical Themed Room Located On Royal Beach Club Floors With Access To The Private Royal Beach Club Lounge.
Room Amenities Club Room Non-Smoking, Concierge Level, Continental Brkfst, Evening Hors D'Oeuvres, Turndown Service" is that for the dolphin or swan?

Our reservation at the Dolphin says "Club Room Non-Smoking, Concierge Level, Continental Brkfst, Evening Hors D'Oeuvres, Turndown Service, Whimsical Themed Room Located On Club Level Floors With Access To Private Concierge Lounge"

Can anyone tell me what the difference is:o please.

Almost time to go. I have to say there has been so much going on at work that I can't wait to get away.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

The pictures are devine.

Ok, I'm under stresssssssss now. I've been so good to plan for months and our date has really crept up on me. I am so not ready. Still have to pack and now have to find and go thru all the neat things I want to be sure to do while we're there. I have a few things I haven't been able to find in my huge pile of notes. I hope someone can help me. (fingers crossed)

Straight A club - at the dolphin/swan - where do you go to get the cool hat, free ice cream, etc. ?

Does anyone know if the any of the dolphin rooms are finished with the refurb? If so, what rooms do you suggest?

Does anyone have any last minute fun things that are a must do for me or my DD8? We'll be there for 10 days.

I can't thank everyone enough for all the help and advice! I never thought I could pull this off by myself and not a travel agent! You all are the best!!!!!! I can't wait to get back and tell you all how the trip went!

LOL
Steph

I'm home...

OW - I'm going to be in and out of OK till the end of June - then I will be in my new (old) home. Hopefully this be the 3rd I convert to the National register of historic places. Time will tell. :)

DF -

(Sounds like a C. Dion song!) I am feeling sick!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW - I was initiated into Beta Gamma Sigma - and old dog can still get respect!!!!

The character chaser will be online soon. I can't wait... the phone isn't enough!!!

Yeahhhhhhhhhh - i made it over to the new postings. Couldn't lose you all after posting on the 150 th page.

Kelli - congratulations to your daughter on her major competition - i have not been to Paris in 30 years - that does date me!!! I lived northeast of Paris in Compeigne one summer - total French immersion, the best way!! Hope you enjoyed it.

m pots - relax and enjoy your trip. I am sure you have enough lists of what to pack, do etc... - put them aside (for a while) and just breath in the magic.

# 1 hockey mom - good for you. Now the trip will be much more enjoyable without these worries.

Marymrg - sounds like a fantastic room.

DF - thanks for a new beginning - once again. Caroline

ON this NEW THREAD! ;) Already on page two with "30" POSTS! Whew. :p

OZZIE...Awesome picture of the "King & Queen" of the MAGIC KINGDOM.

Disnurse...YOU DID IT! You're now OFFICIALLY on board of the "Picture~Posting" group (US!). LOL. ;) Please, keep 'em coming.

Mom Poppins...Give Baby Kirk a "hug" for me! :) Glad to see you are feeling better with each day. Make sure to take your vitamins and drink plenty of H20! Sending Pixie Dust: *****************

Kelli...WOW, that's quite an accomplishment! Kudos to your DD for her wonderful talent and hard work. C'est Si bon!

marymrg...spoke with a few High Ranks in Houston. Since the program seems to be on a "shake-down", I may hold my ticket for a while longer. Too much uncertainty. Thanks for asking. ;)

gm...HOLY COW!! Delta had a $133 fare? Was this RT? Amazing. I fly Delta, non~stop (FC). Love it. I too, do not enjoy changing planes. Was planning to take the Concorde to Europe (Britain/France) next summer, but will have to scrap this in light of the recent news of retirement. We will fly British Airways, FC, instead. Anyone ever fly BA?

RobMax...glad to read you're settled. Missing CL? NROHH...3x? Wow, you are ambitious! :p Although, I suspect it is extremely cathartic. ;) Gator face...good enough to eat? LOL. He looks too much like TIC TOC, the NILE CROC from PP!! :)

Mouseteacher...Me either! I try my BEST to stay clear of the Swamps/ponds/lakes. DH loves to fish in these areas (& release). I have snapped many pics of the Gators as he fished...and always stay back from the edge of the water (never turning my back on the banks). LOL. Keep posting the lovely pictures!

Caroline...thanks for the support! So glad to have you here too.

m.pots..."no stressing permitted!" #1 rule of this thread....LOL.
Straight A club is a no-brainer. Ask the associate at the Front desk, and they will help you out. Things to do...RELAX, and HAVE FUN! Play fantasia golf together (across from the Dolphin), skip along the route to MGM, play on the BW late in the eve, enjoy a sundae in the fountain, watch the fireworks together, etc. There are SO many things to do...I could go on & on. ENJOY!;)

Just returned from a stage production of HAMLET! Refreshing. DD loves live theater, and asked me to accompany her this eve. It was 3+ hours. Lots of passion, from professional, dedicated actors. Great stimulation for the noggin! Hope all of you are enjoying your weekend too. ;)

*TO ALL of YOU POSTING HERE, thanks for the infinite dedication and loyalty you have displayed. We have forged a wonderfully close bond through these daily messages. Our exchange of invaluable information on these two TOP resorts, & WDW in general, has brought us together on common ground. We share a love for all things SWAN/DOLPHIN & DISNEY. Without "WALT", none of this would even exist. Thank you, again...WALT. ;)

good morning all,
This is our typical morning view each morning at our non-disney resort rooom. As you can see no magical feeling at all!!

fc44b278.jpg

ps.. I earned another tag thanks to all your assistance

Disnurse: What a spectacular view! Even though sunsets are beautiful, I live for sunrises! Was this a view from the Swan? If it is, could you please indulge me with your room number?

DF: I love your pics of dear Walt! You know when people ask, "Who would you most like to meet, living or otherwise?", my answer would always be Walt Disney. Who else's dream will continue to grow and become more magical with each passing day?

Wow, it won't be any time at all before this thread is back into double-digits! Keep the great pictures coming!

Disnurse--wow, that sunrise is just making me more anxious for May 31st! Thanks for the pictures.

Rob--congratulations--isn't it nice to be recognized by your peers!

Kelli--tell your daughter "way to go!" Her hard work and practice really paid off!

DF--sorry you won't be joining us in Houston right now, but glad the option is staying open for you!

Mouseteacher--I'm with you--"Don't go near the water"----wait--wasn't that the title of a movie?

Ozzie--see--you not only help poeple learn to post great pics--you even help the tag fairy notice them!

mpots--I'm jealous that you are leaving so soon.

This is going to be a rough week for me. We have a field trip Monday to see "The Sideways Stories From Wayside School" at a local theater. Our "specials"--p.e., music, art--time has been changed for the week because the students are putting on a program on May 6. We are administering a standardized test on Wed., Thurs., and Fri. What makes it especially difficult is that I have n autistic child in my class who doesn't do well with changes and he is going to have so many right in a row. I usually manage to do social scripting for him and help him keep it together--but I am pretty worried about how all the changes one right after the other will affect him! I've been praying for the wisdom to help him and the strength for all of us to make it through!

We could use some Pixie Dust next week!

Wow! DF and Disnurse..........fantastic pictures! Disnurse.....you even got a new tag for all your work! Isn't this fun?

So good to see our old friends back here too. Keep posting all.

DF ~ Loved the patriotic Mickey / it gave me goosebumps. The picture of Walt, I believe, was during the late 50's or early 60's. It is how I remember him (when I was a child, of course...oops... that is dating me!!:( ).

disnurse ~ lovely picture! Great tag! -See, ozzie, what you have created!

mpotts ~ I wish with all my heart I had your problem

;) :)

:( Last day of spring vacation - however, the children get out for the summer on June 13 (despite the bad winter we had no snow days) which is just around the corner. The month of May and early June are such busy times I'm sure the time will fly by.

Piper ~ here's PD for you ********************************
Your post says to me that you are a kind and caring teacher who thinks of the well-being of ALL her students. Kudos to you - we need more like you in our profession.
