Well guys, I'm back from Birmingham and no longer have over 1000 posts. What did you guys do to me when I was gone? Geeeeeeezzzzzzzz.
Northwest Airlines was very pleasant. No upgrades available. Every plane we were on was filled to capacity or only 1 or 2 seats open in coach. Never realized Madison to Detroit to Atlanta and back would be so popular. But it was a good trip all in all. No complaints on my end and I am terrified of flying. Although I should send a thank you note to that check-in guy in Atlanta who had to tell me the plane we were getting on was going in for repairs in Detroit..................I could have lived without that info!
Thrifty Car Rental - good experience. Chrysler product. $39.50 per day unlimited mileage. $5 extra for 2nd driver. Lots of city/tax surcharges though. Ended up at $110 for 2 days. (We did the insurance waiver). We filled at local station rather than let them fill at $4.35 per gallon.
Residence Inn in Birmingham was good - excellent breakfast -nice accomidations.
So 3 thumbs up. Things to remember for those of you travelling! We'll be at the Swan (OF COURSE!) next trip but I'll be remembering Thrifty and Northwest Air!
Will someone please find the rest of my posts?
