OK, let's get this straight!
Westin Hotels feature the "Heavenly Bed (R)".
Sheraton Hotels feature the "Sweet Sleeper (SM)".

The Swan is a Westin, and having completed its refurb, has the Heavenly Bed in each room, right? The Dolphin is a Sheraton, currently undergoing refurb.

Some posters have suggested/claimed that the Dolphin is getting Heavenly Beds too. That doesn't make any sense. Shouldn't the Dolphin be getting Sweet Sleepers? Are these identical products under different trademarks, or are they different?

What exactly IS the Dolphin getting? Heavenly Bed or Sweet Sleeper? Queensize or double? Does anyone have the real story on this?

(Yes, I KNOW both chains are owned by the Starwood Group, but they are making every effort to maintain separate product identity.)

I thought the Dolphin was getting Sweet Sleepers too but evidently they aren't. Someone posted a digital pic of the side of thier Dolphin matteress complete with the Heavenly Bed tag. Several people have posted that their non renovated rooms already have heavenly matteress. That is very good news because as much as I love the dolphin, I hated their old matteress! I did call the Dolphin a few months ago to check on renovations. At that time I was told they were getting Heavenly Beds. So much for the Sweet Sleeper theory! I'm not one bit disapointed as the Heavely Beds sound terrific!

Muffy

our renovated bed had "Heavenly" bedding...we were in a newly renovated room at the Dolphin 2 weeks ago. At check-in it was referred to as a "Heavenly Bed" ::yes:: I have no idea if they are the same thing as the "Sweet Sleeper" with different tagging....

I loved it, DH did not

Uh-oh...I have a picky sleeper, and now that we are going to the Dolphin instead of CR for our summer trip, this matters!!!!! What is there about the heavenly beds not to love?????

My DH prefers a very firm mattress--he slept much better at the CR than he did at the Dolphin. He is one of the only people I know that doesn't like the "Heavenly Bed"

That's why I was curious--I had never heard a bad "review" of a heavenly bed. I myself am looking forward to the experience of meeting one!!!!!

I called the other day. The Dolphin is getting the double double beds which are two inches narrower in width than a queen size bed. The Swan has the queen size beds.princess:

The Dolphin has always had the oversized doubles in their D/D rooms while the Swan has had queens.
Last June when I was there they were working on lower floor rooms on the west wing ...we saw old furniture going out, new stuff coming in. We were on the east wing, sixth floor, in a NON renovated room with a king-sized bed. The day we left I noticed the mattress tag when the suitcase pulled the sheet off the unmade bed as I packed:

:)
I don't like soft mattresses in general, but I was very comfortable....it was firm underneath the top layer of cushiness, if you can see what I mean from the picture!
I've stayed in several of the D/D rooms at the Dolphin on past visits and don't recall having an uncomfortable bed, but I've heard others complain that the bedding in some rooms has been in poor condition...but I guess that will all be taken care of as renovations are completed.

I just received a Westin Hotel mailing since I'm a SPG member. It listed the Walt Disney World Swan AND Dolphin as Westin hotels. Is the Dolphin switching to Westin status??

Now that I think about it, I don't remember seeing ANYTHING that said Sheraton on it during our Dolphin stay in July. Plus if the Dolphin becomes a Westin, they can charge the same price as they do at the Swan.:( :snooty: :scared: :faint:

swilphil, When renovations are complete at the Dolphin their prices will be the same as the Swan's. It will still a great bargain in my book!
