New disney policy -dogs at FW cabins.

Hopefully leash rules are enforced better than the pet friendly beach we visited this summer. Probably 30% of the people didn’t listen and no one was there to enforce it. I wonder if Disney will have to hire more CMs to patrol?

Just wanted to share my update. Talked with guest communications. She was nice and friendly. Told me its maybe 1 or 2 rooms a week being requested for dogs. Sighting the newness of the policy. Now I don't know if she meant just the fort wilderness cabins area or all of disney. She said that she talked with the person who makes room assignments and they are putting us away from the dog area. I ask if she knew the loop and she said possibly loop 2800. But couldnt say for sure. So that would be in line with what I read here as that's the farest from loops 2200 and 2300. She went on to tell me that the fort area is so sprawling and that each cabin is kind of by itself. That combined with no real common areas we really shouldn't worry about it. Saying in the kindest way that nothing has actually happened. Which is very true, but my daughter does have a real fear, and doesn't need something to happen to totally panic her. Again she was very kind, but I didn't like that remark. I didn't really feel satisfied with our conversation. But really what could I expect. I did ask about the two reports I saw on here, one of the dog sitting on the chair in the common area and one of the OP that described a dog barking. She was vague and said the picture was probably snapped right before a CM informed them of the policy. Saying sometime people don't see any wrong in what they are doing until they are inform by a CM. Barking she didn't have a responce for. Again thanks to everyone who posted.

After watching my dad's untrained Golden try to bite me (she had my arm in her mouth but thankfully didn't break the skin), my son developed a huge fear of dogs. I worked HARD to help him not have such a fear. It took a couple years, but I'm very glad I did. He has a healthy respect of dogs, he evaluates dogs and owners like I do (I got lazy that day at my dad's, and didn't greet his dog properly as I came back into the gate after leaving it and petting her 3 minutes prior...I got lazy and thought that my dad hadn't actually destroyed her spirit and turned her into a mess of a Golden), he is cautious and careful, but he doesn't have the huge fear he used to. I'm sure you're already working on this, and I'm encouraging you to not give up. It's HARD to live a life with that sort of fear, since dogs are everywhere, and NO ONE knows what a dog is capable of. Even the doofiest cutest most tail-waggy Golden can snap, and it's good to be wary but not afraid. (I think the ONLY reason she didn't actually bite is because I was raised with Malamutes and know to keep my cool). So keep going, mama!

Remember that the CMs on the phone don't work at the resorts and might not even be in Florida. They have no idea what it's actually like there.
