NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

Can I just ask, giftcards.com isn’t the same site people had problems with a few years ago is it? Where they ordered, then waited for weeks & sometimes never got them?
I think that notorious site that was selling $10K Disney GCs for $7500 and then ripping people off had its name censored on the DIS. Since the giftcards site under discussion is not being censored, I'd assume it is considered an acceptable site.

I'm curious what everyone's gift card strategies are like. At one point I was buying basically any deal I could find. Meijer frequently does $50 in store credit for a $500, and I stock up on those, along with the 10% off offers that pop up on Sam's Club and GiftCards.com.

At one point I realized I had over $3k in GCs with nothing to really spend them on (lol). Ended up using them on a cash stay and lightning lanes and just general food and merch money for the parks.

On one hand, I can't pass up a good deal--it's as good as cash to me, so the 10% savings is great. On the other hand, my next trip in March is all paid for via DVC, so gift cards really only help for food and merch--do I really need to buy 3/$500s on GiftCards.com right now??? The temptation is real.

I've justified it in the past as in "oh it's my Disney savings account, I can use it on annual dues, and I'd never use DVC on a Cruise so this is kind of like my cruise saving fund. But it gets to a point where I think I'm holding too much Disney cash (if that's a thing)

In my opinion, buying disney gift cards is just like budgeting for anything else. Have a tentative idea for the upcoming year as to how much $$ you'll need for disney trips for the upcoming year or so - DVC dues, dining, shopping, tickets, cruises, etc. Then you'll know approximately how much to buy without going overboard on gift card purchases. I'm figuring this out now for my 2026 trip ::MickeyMo

Money in a high yield savings earns you money, so for me, if I don't have an immediate need like a room reservation (campsite for us), annual pass renewal or trip in the near future I do tend to pass up on some deals. I dont have DVC dues. Sometimes liquidity is a better bird in the hand. I also find if I use gift cards for merch in the parks I buy more than I would if I had to use my money then, because it's a sale!

I feel that. My $500 Disney Gift card was doing work in Epcot during Food and Wine. I paid no attention to those prices--just wanted a drink and food item from each country!

My solution.....

1- I registered with website

2- I used a different CC and did this......I called the CC folks and was on the line live with the fraud dept. I told them I wanted to do a one time transaction for 908.75 (cost with trackable shipping).......did an attempt....it was declined....CC folks cleared for a one time transaction.....made next attempt......it went through......Success!!

I buy discounted DGC and then apply them to my DVC Dues right away, DVC will show the credit in your Dues Section of your membership. So pretty much starting in September, I start looking for good discounts on DGC and then add them to my DVC account, that way I know they have the amount stated on the DGC, and spread the amount over 5 months.

Also, I bought the Giftcards.com discounted DGC last year and had no problems, but I also registered on their website. I also requested the USPS trackable delivery which was slightly more than the standard USPS delivery.

Thanks for the heads up on giftcards.com! I had no issue receiving my physical cards last year but I think I will pay for the trackable shipping this time. I have the 5% chase offer too. So if I buy $1000, that will be $908.75 with $45.44 back, so $863.31 for $1000 in DGCs. That's 13.7% off if I did my math right, I'll take it! I've got an AP renewal in January after all :rotfl2:

Update: I think I'll do $1100 and that ends up being $998.75 shipped, which will use up the max $50 back chase offer!

Has anyone ordered gift cards from Newegg recently? I think they had some good discounts at one time on Disney and Uber cards.

If I don't have any upcoming need for dis gc I don't buy them unless I save more than 10%. If I do need them, I don't buy them unless I save at least 10%.

For my abd, if I need to I'll open a new cc for the bonus to pay the rest of my balance but I think I'll be ok since I'm one $200 and 1 $50 gc from being able to pay 2k on it. I'll get them soon since I have home depot and best buy offers on my amex.
