My husband, SIL and her husband are planning a trip in January. They haven't been in a few years and it wasn't the best experience. We want to make this trip better. She is not a ride person. She's a Living with the Land and Gran Fiesta are her thrill rides kinda person. I'm thinking an afternoon with the best of World Showcase might be a good idea. We always walk through, try to see Voices of Liberty and grab snacks in some of the other countries. Have any of you had a World Showcase plan? What are the highlights? Drinking around the world is out because we don't drink alcohol. Thanks for any tips you can give.

All of the short films in the countries are great! We love those.

The Duck Tales scavenger hunt (an in-Epcot experience using the PlayDisney app) is geared towards kids but is fun for adults, too. You can set off different animatronics in each country. If you only do one country all the way through, I highly recommend Japan. It’s always a hoot to see passers-by reactions to the finale in that country. 😉

Speaking of Japan, the Pearl ritual in the store is very fun! Even if you don’t want to pay to do it yourself, if you hang around you are bound to see someone else doing it and you can take part in some of it.

Okay, I’m giving away my favorite country here 😆 because the drummers in Japan are also a must-see live performance for me.

There is a tea garden tour in UK, twice a day I think? You need to rope drop the daily signup for it to get a spot. I’ve never done it because it’s always full up for the day when I pass by.

Morocco is beautiful and quiet to wander through and take pictures. No one ever goes back there.

Watch the train set by Germany.

So many great exhibits in some of the countries if you take the time to go inside and look around. Norway, China, Japan, France all come to mind.

Window shopping everywhere!!!

Hope you all enjoy!

You can meander in each country & find/see things. I enjoy taking my time & really looking around. The entertainment is fun to catch when I go by & just browsing the stores is fun too. Also January can be hit or miss weather so it's nice to pop inside.

We will be there Jan 11-15.
👋🏻 see you there lol

Okay, so you’ll just miss the start of the Festival of the Arts.

We make a snack list before we go to Epcot that includes our favorites and maybe 1-2 things new we want to try. We always try and catch the Mariachi Cobre in Mexico, can’t miss! Take the friendship boat across. Love the Japanese Garden area in Japan, catch drummers and enjoy a Kakagori. We never seem to have enough time to explore the shops in all the countries.

Consider the Behind the Seeds tour at Living of the Land! Your 60 day window should’ve just opened so you have a shot. It’s not expensive and pretty cool from what I hear!

Make sure to see everything in every country. ie: walk the trail to the waterfall in the back of Canada.
Go inside every building. The round building in China has an amazing ceiling. Every country pretty much has wonderful things to see.
Try a snack in each country (instead of drinking around the world). The 4 of you split 1 snack so you don't fill up.
Make sure to go in every gift shop in every country.
Take a fun pic in each country specific to that country.
Check the Disney app for all shows and their times. See them all.
Everyone hunt for 1 souvenir to by themselves. Doesn't have to be expensive. A coffee cup to remember the trip is always nice.
Look at all the little people and houses in the train setup in Germany.
Have fun!

Wandering around the World Showcase has always been one of our family's favorite things to do at Disney. I would make a point of going to the French bakery. Everything we have had there is so delicious. Our favorites include the chocolate eclairs, the raspberry macaroons filled with lime, and the chocolate mousse. It can be chaotic to order and there is usually a long line. However, it moves quickly. I have heard others rave about the crepes and other goodies that are available at a quick service window as well.

I would also advise seeing the movies in France, Canada, and China. Looking around in the stores is always fun, and if you want to interact, many of the cast members seem happy to visit a little and talk about their home countries. Make plenty of time to just browse the stores in each country.

For an enjoyable meal with a something for most any palette and a fun show, try the Biergarten restaurant in Germany. There's a wide variety of food and the show is always fun. You might like to shop for a beautiful glass Christmas ornament in the store across from way after your meal or a teddy bear or other stuffed animal.

We did the Behind the Seeds tour a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would like to do it again. I would especially recommend this if anyone is interested in gardening.

I hope you all enjoy your trip!

Like others have said, take your time and wander around WS. The amount of details in each country is amazing if you actually slow down and look. Grab a snack in each country that you usually might not try. Watch the entertainment, go through the gardens and go down all the paths and little nooks and crannies. Talk to the CMs about their homes and customs (our favorite thing to do). A lot of people just hurry through the gift shops but the amount of detail put into each pavilion is mind blowing.
