We had CSP - just came up for renewal in the last two weeks - given that card's UR points are going to undergo the same reconfigure/devalue in October, and at the suggestion given on this board, we swapped out to the no fee Freedom Flex for a second 5% quarterly cashback card (besides Discover). Honestly, CSP was our third travel redemptions card, and I am finding it more and more labor intensive to find a "good" way to use our hotel credit and UR through the portal when we most often stay at either Disney or Universal branded hotels. Even our stay this year at the Swan will be in a 1 BR suite, which are not available for booking on the portal, and wouldn't be offered anyway at a rate anywhere near as competitive at our AP rate.

I have to think the Amex Platinum reboot is going to go CRAZY with its annual fee. Some are predicting $1000 a year. As with all of us here I am heartily committed to using my CC benefits, offers, perks and bonuses, but I just cannot see where I could hope to recoup that. Really the same with $795 on CSR. Whew!

I should probably cash out a nice chunk of URs sooner than later with changes around the corner.

If the Personal Plat goes that high I hope we get something like the "flexible business credit" on the Business Gold where I can just buy GCs. That's worth it to me! I am very disappointed with the changes to the Dell credit on the Business Plat

The CSR is probably the only Premium card I never had! But I did just dump my Plat and Business Plat after a long time and am sort of seeing which way the wind is blowing as you mentioned. I'm tempted to have P2 refer me the CSR and try it out but I also love the AMEX MR ecosystem I'm willing to wait a bit. Not sure which way to go but I keep putting spend on my pre existing cards and it's killing me that none of it is going towards a SUB right now! I don't want to just jump on anything right now that I may regret later.

The CSR was actually my first because the UR ecosystem was so simple to understand and the transfer partners worked for me, but I have branched out and seen the power of MRs so I like to play in all the sandboxes The new dynamic Chase approvals coupled with the issues (people showing the banner stating no offer, declining the card, and Chase opening it anyway, etc) scare me so maybe wait for the dust to settle?

Do you have the Venture X if you dumped both your Plats?

My membership expired last month. This deal just worked for me, but I had to play around with the log-in because it kept freezing. I ended up opening BJs in a separate browser window & signed in there. Then I went to another window and clicked the DoC link, it put the $10 membership in my cart where I was already signed in, and I was able to check out.

I saw this earlier today on Slickdeals and tried it as my BJ's membership had expired 5/31/2025. $10 is a good deal for a renewal - just remember to turn off Auto-renewal afterwards as when you renew it forces Auto-renewal to be turned on.

Only bad thing is when I renewed, it only gave me 11 months of renewal instead of 12 months. So my expiration date is 5/31/2026 even though I renewed today. I chatted with customer service to ask why the renewal was 5/31/2026 and not 6/30/2026 and they explained that if you're within 2 months of your expiration, they renew based on 1 year from your previous expiration date instead of the current date you renewed. Kind of stupid if you ask me to renew it that way. So if anyone is close to 2 months, it might be worth waiting to renew until you're outside of the 2 months.

Again I just always like having a SUB to work towards and I think since 5/24 seems to be going haywire I may just open something up that's decent for now and wait to see what happens between the Plats and the Sapphires. A modern day cc version of the Hatfields and McCoys.

I have a friend that swears by BoA Plat honors! I have multiple business custom cash cards so I could theoretically assign each to their own category and get the higher return... I should probably do it too

I have a 10 percent back at Kroger AND a 15 percent back on groceries with my Wells Fargo card…I wonder if that would all work for one purchase at Kroger (ie buying one 100 dollar gift card)?

I'm not sure if you could combine those, but confirming that the Wells Fargo 15% back on groceries worked for me on a $100 Disney Gift Card at my local grocery store (Giant Food PA).
