NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

Regarding Sam's Club $200 DGC for $180.

Unfortunately the ad states:
Excluded from Plus early access.
Well, that’s too bad! I was afraid of that and tried to read the fine print, which is on page 50, but it’s too tiny to read on my phone!

For the Sam’s Disney gc deal. Is it 4 per membership? So DH and I share a membership as we are in same household. Does that mean total between us we can purchase 4, or can each of us purchase 4 under our own logins? Last time there was a glitch and it let me purchase way more, so I’m never tried under his account, just mine.

I got an Amex offer for $20 back from a $300 or more amexgiftcard purchase. Does anyone have experience with these gift cards and how widely they are accepted? Also there is a promo code where you can get the activation fee waived until November 3

Since Amex gift cards operate as a credit card, I've used them in the past to turn them into Amazon Gift cards. Would just go through the usual steps of buying an Amazon Gift Card (really a credit on your account) and enter in the Amex gift card as payment. You could likely - I'm not an expert here, hence the use of likely - turn around and buy a Disney gift card at the same amount.

In my personal experience, the Amex gift cards are extremely difficult to use and a majority of online stores will not accept them. This is because there is no way to register them online with your name and address, which causes them to get rejected at a lot of online retailers.

And here are just some of the comments from doc:

"Don’t buy these unless you want to spend hours with amex trying to get them to work."

"Worked for me when buying a lifetime Plex. Otherwise, yes having trouble finding where to spend the rest. So many rejects….."

"2 of the 3 federal tax processors have declined the Amex GC I bought"

" agree with others. A lawsuit should be brought against these “prepaid card” issuers who impose an increasing number of ridiculous restrictions on what charges will be authorized. They misrepresent (i.e. false advertising) the ability of these to be used for purchases and Amex seems to be the worst of the worst in terms of restrictions. I get blocking things that prevent people from turning them to cash but they are difficult to use for all sorts of legitimate payments. That being said, if you do have a place to use them then this is not a bad deal."

"do not get these. impossible to use. I ended up filing a complaint to CFPB and Amex cut me a check and disabled them. I was able to keep the offers but would not do it again."

These are just a few of the comments, there are a lot more. So in my opinion, it is not worth the hassle of dealing with Amex Prepaid gift cards.

That has been my understanding as well and I had to pre-plan my Target purchases carefully in the past, but this most recent one does allow cumulative spend towards the offer of Spend $100 to earn a $10 Target Reward for me, with the requirement to use my Target Red Card. Below is a screenshot that reflects cumulative spend from 3 separate purchases I had made over 3 different days:

I really like this flexibility as it allows me to straddle two sale cycles to take advantage of discounted items that come online every Sunday and I can mix and match in-store, online and delivery. Just wanted to mention this since another poster was wondering if returns would impact reward...if they have this kind of cumulative earn, I don't see how returns would negatively impact progress as long as the cumulative spend inclusive of the return amount meets the required minimum spend within the earn i
I made a mistake and used my discover card instead of my target card. Did not track for the rewards.

Today another stranger approached but the pups were outside. He banged on the glass sidelite, rang the doorbell repeatedly then banged on the glass sidelite again. Are you kidding me! Trick or Treaters don’t even go that far, they just ring the doorbell once like a normal person. I brought the pups inside then went to the front and opened the door. I asked the guy if he needed help and he yells out A Topic. I don’t know why he was so loud. When I voiced my position, he had the nerve to put his finger to his lip as in ”Shh, I’m talking” well that did not go over with me at all. That’s like telling me to calm down. Who does this bozo think he is shhing me and telling me what I can’t do with my own body? Are these people out of their minds?
My normal response to solicitors is about 2 seconds, that's how long it takes me to open the door, realize they aren't delivering anything and shut it without a word. If some dude had banged on the glass sidelite I would have taken the time out of my day to open the door and used it as a chance to exercise my lungs to their fullest bloody murder scream possible. You were very kind.

Has anyone else been having problems logging into the Disney gift card site?

I purchased DGCs on 10/12 with my target circle bonus, and I haven’t been able to log in for the entire almost two weeks since my purchase. Just me?? 🤔🤔
Did you get a resolution?

A while back I cut my index finger while cutting up whole chickens and got two stitches. I had four more birds to process which I did two days later. Probably should have waited longer but I didn't have room in my deep freezer and the birds couldn't wait. I ended up loosing one of my stitches - not sure where that went and I think my finger is infected.
Should I just soak it or do I need to go back to the ER?

I would go to Urgent Care ASAP and have someone take a look. Less expensive than ER and will give you some peace of mind.

I'll soak it tonight and go to Urgent tomorrow. It keeps trying to open up when I bend my finger which is pulling on the other stitch. It's hot, painful and throbbing.
My menfolk will be back tomorrow too. What a week!

I agree with soaking tonight and Urgent Care in AM. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but your description makes me think like you do, that it’s infected. Best wishes for your recovery.

(Retired RN). Do you have antibiotic ointment in the house? I would not soak it. You could put a warm compress on for short periods, maybe 5 minutes every few hours. Then antibiotic ointment, or hydrocortisone cream if you don’t have antibiotic ointment. Try not to bend it or hang down too much, that will increase swelling & pull on that stitch even more.

Were you supposed to go somewhere for removal of the stitches? Do you have a primary care provider? I would call them in the morning. They may be able to see you, do a video visit, have you email a picture. You probably don’t need ER or urgent care unless you have a significant fever or otherwise feel ill or your primary can’t see you.

Another retired RN here. Definitely soak warm compress, with baking soda in the water. I worked for plastic surgeon who always said no ointment as it prevents infection from coming out. As described hot and throbbing and swollen sure sounds like infection.
