NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More.

A question for all the Target Circle Rewards experts.

I completed my circle reward in store with purchases of actual items. I bought some items with the idea that I may return them but those items completed the circle bonus. I was planning on spending more money on items anyway so I didn't think twice about it but now I'm wondering if they would take my bonus away if I returned those items even though I spent more than that on new items. Am I making sense? I feel like that sounded confusing.
In the past when I’ve returned items that qualified me for circle rewards and then went under the threshold, they did take back the rewards. Not sure if this always happens, but I’d expect if you make a return and then your total ends up being under the required amount after the return, they may take your reward back. Now gift cards with items or discounts work differently though.

Sorry @TheDailyMoo I've not returned items after getting the Reward, so I have no experience. I believe @jennab is correct. It only makes sense Target would claw back the rewards.

If in-store I would approach CS and see if they can add your new items to your original purchase. Then return the unwanted items.
Make sure you tell CS everything so they have a clear understanding of your intent.

@TheDailyMoo I wonder if you would lose the rewards if doing an exchange rather than a return. Ask at CS and see what happens.
all great suggestions thank you. I sort of know that they would get clawed back if returned but I assumed for some reason if I kept purchasing more before the circle reward deadline was up that it would just keep adding on. I like the idea of an exchange or perhaps I can just ask for credit which is fine by me as well since I'll spend it instantly...I buy way too much stuff...it's not good lol

I’m not sure if Target does exchanges anymore, or if they only do returns then new purchases. You can always ask the person at guest services what your options are.

The reward offers I’ve gotten are spend X amount in 1 purchase, get rewards. It’s not a cumulative amount over the allowed timeframe. So there would be no “adding on” to the amount you already spent.

Ex.. spend $100 get $10 rewards. I only get the $10 if I spend $100 in 1 transaction. If I have 2 $50 transactions, I don’t get the reward. UNLESS it is specifically a multi transaction offer…. Such as, spend $50 2 times, get $10 rewards. And even then, the $50 has to be in 1 transaction to count.

They don't exchange, they'll return and you rebuy but they'll adjust to the price you paid if it was less.

@jennab (even though you didn't Love the post, I thought you might be interested).

Well this REALLY stinks! Target 10% Off for Veterans, military members & family has a new caveat, in order to get the 10% discount you have to join Circle 360. Seriously?!

How about this Target - NO THANK YOU!

There was a peep who posted they regretted signing up for Circle 360 because the wording changed on how they could use their Circle Offers and REWARD Offers. It was not a positive change.

Granted, Target might give, dare I say better offers for Circle 360 members but why make an offer to our vets with this caveat. This isn't a sincere Thank You to our service members, it's a push for a subscription.
How disgusting! Shame on you Target and the fool who thought this was a solid idea.

And no, you cannot use this 10% offer to save on ANY gift card, nor can you use the $50 Target Circle Rewards you'll get for signing up on any gift card.

I think since I’ve joined the Circle 360 I’ve received less than half of what was posted for just Circle Rewards bonuses. Several of mine were also specifically for having items delivered which I would then need to tip for and lose out on the benefit of the rewards (also can’t buy Disney Gift Cards when using 360). I super regret signing up and am glad I got it for 20 dollars for the year, totally turned off auto renewal.

You can't use your rewards on same-day delivery, either. So if I wwnt my groceries delivered, I can't apply rewards to the coat of those groceries. I ended up turning off renewal because if I have to go into the store to use my rewards, I might as well not pay for delivery. 🙈

Not to step on your toes @4Hawks but I'm still up canning and saw TWO offers. I added them to Post #2 and deleted expired offers.

I have the Amex offer for $15 back on a $50 purchase at the Pepper app on all 8 of my Amex and authorized user cards.

Is the way to get a Disney gift card out of this to buy a Walmart gift card on pepper, add that to your Walmart Pay, and then use that in store at Walmart to buy a Disney gift card? Does that still work?

That has been my understanding as well and I had to pre-plan my Target purchases carefully in the past, but this most recent one does allow cumulative spend towards the offer of Spend $100 to earn a $10 Target Reward for me, with the requirement to use my Target Red Card. Below is a screenshot that reflects cumulative spend from 3 separate purchases I had made over 3 different days:

I really like this flexibility as it allows me to straddle two sale cycles to take advantage of discounted items that come online every Sunday and I can mix and match in-store, online and delivery. Just wanted to mention this since another poster was wondering if returns would impact reward...if they have this kind of cumulative earn, I don't see how returns would negatively impact progress as long as the cumulative spend inclusive of the return amount meets the required minimum spend within the earn period.

I guess the difference is use of the Target Red Card. I don’t have that & none of my regular Circle offers allow cumulative purchases. Maybe that’s what the PP had, but I don’t think it was specified.

I only accidentally discovered the cumulative feature for the Target offer since the offer when I activiated it looked just like the typical Target Circle Bonus offer and I assumed it had to be one-shot. I was going to save the offer for a DGC and Halloween candy, but I happened to do a SodaStream cannister exchange at Guest Services the other day and when I returned home to check when my Circle offer would expire I noticed the progress bar towards the $100. I then made a $25 DGC purchase to see if it's cumulative and it tracked as well! Just want to share in case others may have assumed the same as me that these offers are always a one-transaction deal.
