Another Target question: The bonuses along the lines of "Spend $X, Y times and earn Z bonus"--can you buy DIsney GC in-store? I've been doing this with E-cards, but mentioned this to my sister since she could benefit re:paying DVC dues. She was told at the store that an in-store physical Disney git card purchase doesn't count towards the bonus spend. This seems wrong.

So has anyone bought Disney GC in-store and had them count?

Yes, this is the service rep not knowing the detailed terms.

The whole order needs to exceed the Spend X but it can include a combination of DGC and physical goods or all DGC, even in store. I'll do that when I'm using them to top off an order of physical stuff.

Target GC and AmEx/Visa?MC are the ones that don't trigger this style of deal.

Done it many times with in store purchases and it works fine. The only issue is the $50 or less cards are the paper ones and good luck not having the tape on the back ripping off your numbers if you want to add them to your Disney Gift Card online account.
 

Well, I decided to see if this would work…..ugh but after I placed my order, I went in to the bonuses just to see if it had already captured my spend and realized I never hit activate argh I hit activate right away, but I’m not sure it’s gonna work now :(
Of course I guess I really won’t know maybe until I do my pick up order…. but I’m thinking at least on previous orders after things had shipped, and the order was ready for pick up, the bonus spend had showed up

If I have a Target order I’m going to place to try and earn Target circle bonus. Will using Target circle rewards to pay for said order effect getting the bonus I’m going for?

Yes I do it everytime I get a bonus circle offer. By the time I get to my car the credit toward earning my bonus reward is already showing up.
 
So really bad situation I'm in and furious with Disney Gift Card services. I have a card I've held for 4-5 years which I use to consolidate all other gift cards onto before going to Disney. Did that last week and purchased my LL with it - no problem.

Yesterday - 4-5 days after I bought them - I get a series of email refunding all the purchases to the gift card and cancelling all of my LL. Disney has no idea what happened other than say it initiated from the Gift Card. Disney Gift Card services has been between unhelpful and incompetent. No one by phone can tell me anything other than that it was flagged as a possible fraudulent transaction. All they can do is refer to me an email address which they said could be 5-7 days to respond . . . for my trip next week. So no lightning lanes, $800 on a card that has been frozen, and no one making any effort to resolve this before my trip. 6 hours total on the phone so far between Disney and Disney Gift Card. Had supposed "supervisors" saying that I should call Chase Visa or Disney both of whom have NOTHING to do with anything regarding gift cards....

Any thoughts? Really can't wait until next week. At this point already cancelled one of my two days at Disney due to this since can't get any worthwhile LL for that day that wouldn't completely screw up what we wanted to do.

I am so sorry this happened to you!

I had a Disney GC locked after a ShopDisney order and needed ShopDisney (at the time) to unlock it. IDK what supervisor you spoke with, but I would try to escalate with Disney Store for the funds to be unlocked.

As for the LLs, if you had confirmed orders Disney then cancelled and refunded I would try to go to Guest Relations in person the first day of your trip. Plead your case and politely ask for them to reinstate all the LLs you purchased that Disney then cancelled. Guest Relations in person is 1000x better than anything you can speak with on the phone at the 1-800s from home.

Original estimated delivery date was 4/8 but still nothing has changed. I don't even see a help option on their website either. Do they normally take this long or has anyone else had the same thing happen?

I placed an order on 4/3 and 4/4 for DGC with BJs.

I got the order placed on 4/4 today.

The order placed 4/3 said it was expected today, but showing it's at a sorting facility on the USPS website :scratchin

I ordered the $100 cards on the 3rd, received them Monday the 7th. That actually seemed fast, usually I get them about week after ordering. IDK if the denomination of the cards makes a difference. Or if your location or where they’re shipped from makes a difference.

OP you are definitely the first of this we’ve ever heard with regards to cancelled LLs.

A 5-7 day lock is what I call “deep lock” territory. Extremely rare so please keep us updated. (A “normal lock” is up to 48 hours and is resolved by calling DGC and usually answering basic q’s like where you got the card. Even that is rare but has happened to a few of us. We suspect that lock is triggered by simple errors like typing an incorrect pin into the gc website or miscommunication between the gc seller and Disney’s activation system. Funds from that are released within the 48 hour timeframe.)

A “deep lock” (I really don’t know how to refer to these but there are definitely 2 different types of DGC locks) has in the past been associated with fraud. You only purchased a couple days of LLs so it’s not like you even bought a lot so that in and of itself should not have been a problem. I’ve done a weeks worth before! …I wonder if you typed the pin in wrong on a transaction and Disney still allowed it to go through? System didn’t catch it until a later review. Were you typing it in each time or did you have the data copied in a note on your phone? (Disney Resorts division only fairly recently started requiring the PIN for purchases, when they started the pay to play LLs, so shody IT where sometimes they don’t conduct PIN verification until later is not outside of my realm of possibility.)

I’m very sorry we cannot be of help here, but as I said in the other thread nobody has ever found anyone at Disney willing to even talk about a locked gc beyond the initial complaint and “watch your email” 😡

Yes... Actually. Been dealing with the same thing (on a single $500 GC). Ordered on 4/2, got a "shipped" email from BJ's, no updates since. The tracking number provided has not updated since 4/2... Pre-Shipment, USPS Awaiting Item. Have tried chatting with BJ's a few times, haven't gotten anywhere. They are "investigating". Giving them till Monday and then will likely contact my CC (or I may try calling on Sunday).

I chatted about mine earlier today because it looks like it's lost via USPS. BJs admitted it was "delayed and not moving" and "escalated it to a team" and said I would hear back in 3 business days.

NO idea what that means, but I will call in 3 days since I doubt BJs actually did anything today.

Yep. I chatted with them Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri this week. Basically got nowhere. Eventually said they would elevate it.. And then follow-up with an email. I did get a follow-up email (from the person on chat, not anyone "higher up") Friday mid-day. Nothing since. I am sure this is their "lost package / insurance" process... Slowing things down for an investigation... But that card is long gone (likely stolen). My bigger issue is that I leave for WDW on 4/23.

Feel very bad for all of you dealing with this issue. I placed 3 separate orders ranging between $100 and $800 in DGCs and received all 3 via USPS within a week. Blessed.
